First time staying here but have spent hundreds of nights in Guangzhou hotels. But I wasn't that impressed. There are a number of problems I noticed 1. To go to your room you need to use 2 lifts. One from the lobby to the 5th floor and then another one to your floor. 2. Hotel is feeling tired. Definitely needs a freshen up. 3. Probably the biggest problem is staff. They are next to useless. Getting a taxi is made more difficult with them. They can't speak any English and don't help with where you are going. Even when it's written in chinese.I've never found this in any other Guangzhou hotel in the past. In general it feels like their first day. 3. If you receive a parcel, no one will tell you it's there. No slip in your room. No call. Nothing. This isn't normal in China. 4. Breakfast is pretty average. Same bland food as even the cheap hotels. On the positive the location is great. Close to heaps of good restaurants and shops.

My family and i spent a lovely weekend at this hotel. Thanks for the lovely hospitality to the executive lounge attendants Nia, Maisie and Lucy. The location of this hotel is superb. One thing i enjoy less is that even though i booked for three persons, the lounge access was restricted to two persons only. I hope the hotel would review this policy soon. Another thing is the lack of supervision on the Ground Floor, as there were events on their conference room floors. However, the reception for these events was on the ground floor, and some of the personnel for those companies caused nuisance to hotel guests.

Stayed a little over a week, staff ensured that I had an early check in as I was traveling all night. Room was spacious and clean, everyday the room was always cleaned early and quick. Breakfast was fantastic and all staff always available to assist especially the English speaking guests. Several malls just walking distance away. Will definitely stay again on my next visit.

Good: Great location and we were able to walk to the surrounding malls easily. Bad: We had requested for connecting rooms during our booking as we were travelling in a family of 4 but this was not fulfilled. Instead, during check in, the front desk tried to sell us to upgrade our room to a suite (which would only sleep 3 maximum) which is still not connected to another room.. I found that the rooms were not well maintained. It was an older hotel and I did notice that the paintings/pictures had some dust and mold.

I loved this Marriott! It was even better than I expected, from the service to my room to its convenient location. The front desk was very professional and gave me probably the best room at that hotel, at the very top floor…and the view outside was spectacular. The dining options were abundant, ranging from the lobby buffet with its blend of Chinese and Western dishes to the lounge with its motley of desserts. There is a connecting mall as well as a fancier one across the street; below street level is yet another gem filled to the brim with eateries. Subway stations are very close by too…needless to say I highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed there for 6 nights. The room is spacious, comfortable beds, clean carpet, nice toiletries and room with a fantastic view. The staff at hotel reception was very helpful and allow us to check out later as our flight is 6pm. We will choose to stay here again if we return to Guangzhou in future.

The services are very poor and mismanaged. There is no communication internally that I almost trapped in the lift. There are often no staffs in the restaurant at 5th floor betwwen 6:30 thru 7:00. As a result, often time there is no service during the firsst half an hour of breakfast.

Stayed a little over a week, staff ensured that I had an early check in as I was traveling all night. Room was spacious and clean, everyday the room was always cleaned early and quick. The hotel front desk staff didn’t seem to understand what “turn down service” meant. After no turn-down service for two nights, I went to the front desk and asked about it. The front counter staff thought I just wanted it for one night; I clearly stated that I would like to have turn down service for every night. The girl seemed shocked. She had to consult a manager to make sure that my room was eligible to have turn down service (I thought it would be a standard service for them!) Then she came back to tell me that I would get it for the rest of my stays. I got it for that night, but not the following night. I complained to their Cantonese restaurant manager when I was having dinner there. The problem got fixed right away. The same lack of training problem also appeared when I was told that my credit card was not needed for incidentals. Then I could not get my laundry back on time because the housekeeping or laundry department couldn’t charge me. The restaurants were not able to bill my account linked to my room because they weren’t able to charge me. More training is definitely needed for the front counter to keep the same excellent services that their Cantonese restaurant staff provided.
