Motel 6-Buttonwillow, CA Central

I actually wanted to meet the owner of this property as it was one f the best maintained budget motels I have ever stayed in. The grounds were lush and beautiful including a garden on the property! What a wonderful idea! Beautiful fruit trees on the property, as well!!

Served its purpose while we were on the road. The beds are ROCK HARD and walls are paper thin. The staff were great and friendly. Beautiful pool/grassy area.

The hotel was a nice overnight stay on a longer road trip. Friendly east check in. Clean room. Looked freshly redone. Nice fridge (not to small, not too cold. Microwave. Hot water on the tub. AC wasn't too loud. Nice pool. A variety of fast food choices within easy walking distance. Two negatives. Right off the freeway. I personally like this, but some might have trouble with the noise. It IS in the middle of nowhere, so less traffic sounds at night. The second negative was that neither the wifi nor the cable was working for my entire stay. Even so, would stay again.

Having just one ice machine for the entire complex is not enough... especially since it's not close to any of the rooms and is stuck back in the end of a building that has the washer/dryer machines. It's not very accessible.

The property is dated but clean. Very few amenities.

This was probably the best Motel 6 I’ve ever stayed at. Very clean and the bed was really comfortable. We were in a room that faced the swimming pool so we didn’t get any highway noise. AC worked great, even had to turn the temp up! Lots of food options nearby. The people who manage/own the motel have wonderful gardens and obviously take care of this location. Great for dogs!

We decided to stop here last minute just to get a few hours of rest after getting stuck in horrible traffic coming from Las Vegas. It wasn’t our first choice, but we were exhausted and needed a break. Upon entering the lobby, we immediately noticed a bad odor, which didn’t make a great first impression. We hoped the room would be better, but unfortunately, it had its own issues. When we walked into the room, it did have a faint scent of cleaning products, but that was quickly overpowered by a musty, old smell coming from the air conditioning unit. It was unpleasant enough that we ended up turning the AC off entirely, which wasn’t ideal given the heat. On top of that, the toilet started leaking water after we flushed it — not a major flood, but enough to be annoying and unhygienic. Luckily, I had a can of Lysol in my bag, which helped mask the smell somewhat, but it was still far from comfortable. We didn’t even bother unpacking — just laid down long enough for my husband to get a short nap before we left early in the morning. We chose not to report the issues to the front desk because, honestly, it didn’t seem like they’d be able to do much, and we weren’t planning to stay long anyway. It’s disappointing because the room did look like it had been recently renovated, but clearly with minimal effort or quality. We’ve stayed at another Motel 6 that had been renovated, and the difference was night and day — it actually smelled fresh and felt clean.

This place is an absolute dump. Most Motel 6's are, but this place has roaches crawling outside, an infestation of spiders and flies inside the rooms, smells like a human sweat shop, beds are very uncomfortable and look like they are straight out of prison, the bathtub is rotten at least in the room I was in. This is just a typical truck stop hooker hotel off of the 5.

The room was incredibly clean, and the check-in/check-out process was quick and easy.

The positive: Affordable, the staff was very friendly, and it was quite while we were there. The negative: Our room was dirty, the lights for the parking lot are super bright (good to keep the car safe) and the light shines thru the sides of the curtains making it look like daylight shining thru all night....no one slept well because of this. My kids kept waking and thinking it was morning.

literally in the first 5 mins of being in the room i killed 3 cockroaches. not to mention the bed was as stiff as plywood. miserable experience.

I didn't like the 20 plus flies in my room. Or the on roach in the bathroom. But i did like the quickness of the reservation and how the person in charge care of my mom and sisters room. I was too tired to do anything just from driving. You get what you pay for.

Fine for a quick stopover en route to LA. Very noisy - right next to I5.

Beds were hard

I read the reviews before I pick this hotel because I stay at a lot of different hotels and I’m very particular. I was driving home from San Diego and knew I was gonna have a very long trip to Northern California so I decided to break up my stay. I am so glad that I stayed at this place. Not only was it spotless, the rooms were big enough to be comfortable, and had everything that I needed with regard to a microwave and a refrigerator. But what I like the best was how they have a garden in the back of the hotel by the pool, and I think if more hotels took advantage of the empty space that they have, and raised trees and fruit or vegetable plants like that, the world would be a better place so cheers to you Motel 6!!!

I arrived around 11pm and the receptionist at check-in was friendly and efficient. The room was nice and clean. The refrigerator compressor was VERY noisy so I unplugged it because I didn’t need to use it. The microwave also hummed but became white noise. The WiFi had no internet connection. The bedding was thin but I was comfortable with the thermostat set at 71F. The occupant overhead was quiet but that might not have been the case with a different occupant. The icemaker’s location was not pointed out to me on arrival, and I didn’t find the morning receptionist to be specific enough. When I did eventually find the machine, it would’ve been a bit far from my room for me to bother filling my ice bucket.

Rooms are clean are orderly. However, there is a lot of noise from the 5 freeway.

WiFi was down. Otherwise everything as expected.

Did not appreciate nonfunctional WiFi

Motel itself was convenient to get to, clean, and easy to check in, but it is RIGHT next to the freeway so the noise is constant. There were even a few times I was woken up by the building shaking when a large truck when by. If you're a light sleeper (like me) you might want to find something with more of a sound buffer. I was even wearing ear plugs and still struggled. If you sleep like a rock, this place will be great for the price point.

If possible, I recommend requesting a room facing east, which I believe would be rooms 116-126 ground floor or rooms 216-226 2nd floor. I stayed in room 116 and it was very quiet. I’m thinking the people that complained about the freeway noise coming from the I-5 freeway could have been the west facing rooms 128-139 first floor and 228-239 2nd floor because their windows face towards the I-5 freeway which is very close. The remodeled rooms look very nice and it was very clean.

We had trouble getting on the WiFi. The log in process was not written correctly. The front desk receptionist ultimately helped us log in. The process took quite a long time. Other than that, everything was fine. Comfortable. Clean. Friendly staff. Great price.

Over all my 2 day stay was great. I arrived Friday afternoon around 6pm. I traveled with my husband and a couple friends as we where attending the I-5 Smokeout Trucks Vs Cars. Upon arriving we where greeted by ADRIANNA. Not only was she super friendly, she made our check in fast and accommodating. The place was quiet with a couple fast food places around the property.

Motel 6 is on the lower end usually. This one was very nice. Friendly staff

The staff person got a little annoyed with us because we had a few questions. It is a very noisy area near a freeway and we requested a room away from the freeway and she wasn't happy with us. Also, our door got stuck! We couldn't get it opened. But the place is clean and decent.

Staff is always friendly when we stay for the races

Check in and check out were a breeze. The staff were courteous and the room was spotless. Our only suggestion would be to have more pillows on the beds. I definitely recommend this motel if you’re driving to LA from the Bay Area and need to get some sleep.

In our first room, the shower was leaking terribly. We called the front desk and they did provide us a different room. That room had a noticeable odor, sheets were not clean.

This is Motel 6, you don't expect that much. You have the necessary basic and it is clean, convenient, and safe. This specific Motel 6 is conveniently located close to the freeway (rooms facing the freeway might be noisy), numerous gas stations, and several dining places. Convenient place to stay what visiting Carrizo Plains.

Quick and easy check in. Friendly concierge. Great location to rest up from northern California on the way to LA, San Diego, Anaheim, etc. Multiple quick eats nearby, good taco trucks, and a Starbucks half a block away

Great place near the highway in transit from LA to San Francisco! Room is clean, parking is easy. 10/10. Remember, it’s a room near the highway, you will ear the noise! For my part, I do not care, I sleep like a baby no matter what, as long as it’s clean.

Convenient location off I-5. Clean, basic room. Safe and quiet area. Met all essential needs. Blanket too thin. Good value for a quick overnight stay.

Driving from San Francisco to Los Angeles. Made a stop here around 12:30am for a break got a room woke up at 6:30am put gas , bought coffee and left at 7am for the road again. It is what it is, a rest area. Not bad and not great . But it was safe, no crack heads, no danger . Everyone minds their business .

I didn’t like that I had to pay $2 for a hotel size tube of shampoo and that there was no coffee pot in the room.

A relatively convenient, inexpensive, clean place to sleep overnight. [period] Room placed on highway side of building was LOUD w/traffic noise. (So: ask for one facing sides/front or inner courtyard.) Disappointed: shampoo not provided. Food from Willow Ranch BBQ joint was tasty.

Good place but right next to I -5 freeway so it was noisy . TV required two remotes to operate (hard for this 65 yr old to figure out) Desk lady was nice Rate was excellent Fog in the morning was horrible so plan on sleeping in . Streets pretty torn up and couldnt navigate through fog safely in a.m. good ranch restaurant nearby across street . Taco wagons around back were also a non fast food option

Very basic. Very easy check-in. Changing our room to ground floor was easy. Thank you, Joseph. Road noise from I-5 could be heard all night. The condition of the bathroom could be improved. The toilet was small and low-squatting. Only a bar of soap available. Coffee only available from front desk. The tv was easy to use and had great color. Good value.

No Breakfast as stated in description. No shampoo, conditioner or hairdryer. Office has nothing for above other than coffee.

This is the best choice for the surrounding area at this price level and fine for one night. Glad that we got a room on the opposite side of the building from the freeway. Room was quiet, bed decent, shower recently remodeled and was water hot. The Indian restaurant nearby was pretty good.
