Days Inn by Wyndham Colby

This property is fine for an overnight stay. Pool looked greenish. Breakfast offering was nothing special and little attention to refilling items(like eggs).

We enjoyed the pool. Best breakfast of all hotels we visited on our vacation. Beds weren't up to high.

The pool rim needs to be painted blue before tourist season because of paint flaking it is blue, white and green. The pool area would look more inviting if chairs and lounge chairs werent stacked against a wall. Nice they had non slip mats and temperature of water ok.

I don't normally leave reviews, but, wish someone would have so that I could have chosen a better place. Check in was fine- three family members standing around talking- fine. We hurried to the pool- my 9 year old only had 20 minutes to swim! The pool was freezing cold. Now, it is July, but, cold on a different level. He wouldn't go in beyond his knees. He started pointing out all of the dead cockroaches around the pool. One of them started kicking his legs and we were done with the pool. When we left our room, there was a kid (16-20 years old) with a folding chair sitting beyond where the security cameras are watching the parking lot. The door into the building didn't latch. The kid was there for at least an hour. I made sure to park under the security cameras, but, the kid was just sitting there for no reason. Ok. Fine. We requested a room up and away from others. They put us beside a woman with 3 young children (perhaps the employee from downstairs?) even though there were only 5-6 cars in the parking lot and we saw no one else while staying there. Lastly, they sent us a text in the morning asking us what time we were leaving- in 15 minute increments- will you be leaving at 8:15, 8:30. 8:45, etc. That was very rude and definitely did not make us feel welcome. I don't leave bad reviews but this place was just too much. Dead cockroaches, some shady kid near parking lot and unlatching second entry, freezing pool and harassment to leave property.... Will not stay again

Location like others on I70 are ridden hard and put away wet. Photos of this property are wildly inaccurate regarding the status of its updates and cleanliness. Elevator is broken. Black mold present in bathroom. Curtains hover over the air conditioning unit rendering it borderline useless. We were placed on the ground floor and the window was not only open but didn’t have a lock.

It is not ADA compliant! I am a Disabled Veteran and there was no elevator to the second floor.

Outside door where you use key card to enter was propped open with the door stop. Not terribly safe in my opinion. It was really wedged in there as we tried to move it so door can shut.

The back door code did not work. It was set so it almost knocked me over when it closed. A dog barking! breakfast room so full that there was not place to sit.

The pool was under renovation. The whole reason we booked this room was because my daughter wanted to swim. There was no word in the reservation page that the pool was temporarily closed. Otherwise, the room was okay. The bathroom is tiny.

First the room smelled like an old smoking room. The deadbolt didn’t work and one of the trash cans wasn’t emptied.

No hot water in rooms. Trash from prior guests under beds. Fridge did not work. Talked with front desk about it, they did nothing regarding it. Lost about $20 worth of food.

AC was off when I got there at 8pm, in 95 degree weather. It didn't work properly anyway, and by morning the room was barely "cool". The fridge had a broken leg and it wobbled all weird every time you'd open/close it. The TV had weird programming, like only shows from 2003 or something. The sheets were on sideways and the bedspread was on with the underside up, which sure, who cares, but with the overall condition of the room it made me wonder if it was dirty and they'd just turned it over instead of washing it. The carpets were stinky and old, with weird spots underneath here and there like a part of the subfloor had been replaced poorly. The lights over the sink were all out or broken - but wouldn't turn on. Overall it felt dated and really weird, it wasn't the worst I could have experienced - but I definitely won't be back. :( the only positive was the woman at the front desk and her 2 girls were friendly and sweet.

Best hotel I have stayed at in a long time. Everything from the lobby to the rooms were spotless Staff was very friendly, 10/10 would stay again!!

Clean and safe

Check in was easy and efficient. The room wasn't clean.

Literally didn’t find out til morning that I was sleeping on piss stained sheets and blankets. Great job guys!

Absolutely terrible. Sheets were dirty, hair all around the bed, the air quality was unacceptable and unbreathable, hair in the tub and around the toilet seat, cigarette smell, and ended up with bed bugs.

Bed was okay, sink was clogged...generally the whole place was dingy. Will not stay there again.

Self parking was easy. Breakfast was cold. Batter for waffles was separated out. Our room was okay. The bed sagged horribly to the center so you felt like you were climbing a mountain all night.

The room was fine, staff was friendly. The pool was so warm it was like a hot tub. A hot breakfast was served. There was only one negative. I was in room 101 which is right next to the breakfast room. At 4:30 am the staff started getting breakfast out. The wall is so thin that I could here every cupboard door or drawer open, ever pan set down. If you are assigned room 101, ask for a different room.

Old hotel, loud second floor and no electricity in the morning.

TV did not work and no WiFi as advertised. A good “truckers” stop. Not for everyone.

Room was fine for a stopping point to break up a drive but I wouldn’t stay here for multiple days. Room was very basic, tv sound at max was hard to hear, fridge wasn’t turned on so would take forever to get cold enough for drinks and bed was caved in in the middle. Worked for what we needed but that’s it.

Noisy Could hear people walking up and down hallway. Could hear the guy above me walking all evening until midnight and then up at 3:09 to use the toilet. Could hear toilet flush. He didn’t wash his hands either. Then he was up at 5;30. I could hear his every movement.

The staff was nice and check-in was easy. The room was nice clean and the bed was comfortable. Unfortunately, the hotel seems to be wood construction and we could hear the floor upstairs creaking loudly all evening from the people above us moving around constantly. The breakfast was sufficient but the room was small and tables were crammed in but people were able to find a place to sit and eat

I could not even understand the individual at check in. The tv did not work, the coffee maker did not work. When we asked for assistance with the tv, she spoke little English snd could not fix it. The breakfast had watery eggs and half cooked sausage. We are elsewhere. Stay was not worth anything we paid. Very disappointing!!

I was especially pleased with the desk/managers at this facility. Being handicapped, when I checked in during a rain storm, the desk manager helped me with my luggage from my car to my room. Due to my wet shoes, I slipped and fell down in the bathroom, called the front desk, and help arrived immediately to help me get up. I'm sorry I did not get the names of these wonderful caring folks, but certainly want you to send them my thanks! I've stayed at this facility before and will definitely do it again.

Great staff

Front desk staff were amazing and super kind to our daughter who was traveling alone after her car broke down in Colby... She was pretty distraught after learning that her car was unfixable, we booked her the room, she checked in and accidentally left her debit card at the front desk. Daniel called to let me know that it was safe, and are hot it back... Thankfully they were watching out for her, or insult would've been added to injury. They also allowed for a late checkout for her. Thank you, Daniel!!

We arrived at the Days Inn around 1:30am, and entered inside the property. When we arrived in the building, nobody was at the front desk. We found a business card on the desk with the phone number for the hotel. We weren’t sure if the employee running the hotel had access to the phone number outside the hotel or not, but we tried calling it several times before concluding that nobody would answer the phone. We waited in the lobby to see if an employee would come so that we could check in and get a room, and we were very tired after a day of driving and were looking forward to getting a room and crashing for the night. While waiting, another person staying at the hotel walked by and asked if we were waiting for an employee. When we said yes, he said good luck. We waited for about 30 minutes, and nobody came. At that point, it was 2:00am and we were exhausted, so we decided to go across the street to the Holiday Inn. They had a room available, and the customer service was excellent, so we stayed at the Holiday Inn for the night instead. Disappointing from Days Inn, I’d recommend heading across the road if you’re considering where to stay.

Bugs in room; tv sound hardly works; staff not available or communicative.

At multiple points I asked for fresh towels and was denied. Also they told me they will only clean my room once even though I stayed there for 4 nights and 5 days. And on top of those two disappointing situations, the front desk person gave me an attitude.

Property was in very good shape, breakfast was spot on, even the snacks in the vending machines were before the 'use by' date. Very good overall! The mattress was e to soft for me personally, or it could be time to replace it. It wasn't lumpy or damaged, but when I laid down my 285lb bulk sunk like a rock. Personally, I prefer a firmer mattress, but I didn't wake up with back pain, so not taking off my review for that. My only issue was at check in - I had to wait 25 minutes for the clerk to come downstairs. My wife is in the industry, so I figured they were on break, and after five minutes, I used the front desk phone to 'Dial 0 and talk for assistance'. Rang about 15 times to the front desk cordless phone while I looked at the security cameras on the TV and saw no movement. Waited five minutes later, again, with the same results. After twenty minutes, I'm getting visions of some poor old lady either unconscious in the laundry room or, hopefully, at the grocery because Sysco didn't bring eggs for breakfast... I decided to call the outside line and see if they forwarded the calls, when the phone rang. It rang eight times and stopped. Now I really getting worried and wondering if I need to call the local PD. My wife is in the industry and I didn't want to get anyone in trouble, but this was HIGHLY irregular. I gave the 'Dial 0' one more try and on the fifth ring, a man answered and came down to check me, and the guy behind me who had just walked in. So, call before you arrive!

Well my flight from Miami to Denver was delayed 11 hours, therefore i missed a night, i never arrived to the property until the following day, knce i informed management about my plight, my night was refunded back too my card i was allowed to sleep that whole day, and only charged from the nights forward. So i will always stay at this property and will recommend it too others, they went above and beyond from my family and I, and we are grateful 🙏.

Bed was great. Slept well. Walking distance to a mexican restaurant was very convenient. Back door to hotel was not locked.

It was a normal Days Inn, nothing special, but there were restaurants within walking distance, a cinema nearby. The place was quiet, clean abd the breakfast was good, liked the sausages and the waffles.

Inside looked fairly updated and was clean. The surrounding area, looked pretty old.

Easy assess from I 70. Looked like there were shopping options, although we didn't do any shopping. Area around hotel was clean. Seemed to be safe.

Overnight stay. Easy to check in. Clean and no bad odors. Comfortable, convenient location, friendly staff.

The hotel is easy to get to, comfortable and is priced just right!

It is an older hotel, but it was clean. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast however, was awful! The eggs were cold, and the sausage links were overcooked. They were out of many breakfast items. All in all, I wouldn’t stay here again.

I picked this from the reviews, inexpensive, accepts pets, but with a pool and breakfast. They didn’t say that they charge $30 per dog- non refundable. We were transporting puppies from Oklahoma to Colorado to a rescue, so the “cheap” hotel was now more expensive than the “average” hotel. The breakfast was disgusting. The eggs he poured out of a pouch right in front of everyone and it was off-putting. They didn’t serve any water, just the faucet in your room. The pool didn’t open until 9am but obviously we needed to be out by checkout at 10 so when would one swim? NONE of the plugs/outlets worked. Literally the only one that worked the tv was plugged into, and the tv kept losing connection and going blank. Super ghetto! Go ANYWHERE else!

Hotel is older. It had an unpleasant odor as you entered small lobby. Staff was nice. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Disappointing breakfast. We went down at 8:15 and everything hot was gone. No one around to inquire. Good for an overnight stay.

We had an Excellent stay at the Days Inn Colby, KS. Our room was clean, the bed comfortable and our sleep during the night was wonderful and quiet. The family which runs the hotel was accommodating and friendly. The breakfast bar provided many choices. We'll be returning.
