I stayed here for business and it was a great hotel for that - quiet, amenities like an iron and ironing board, and a great restaurant in the lobby so I didn’t have to search for a place to eat after a long day of meetings. The staff were friendly and helpful. It’s an older building but it has been smartly remodeled and my room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. Centrally located, right on Union Square and on a better, less scary block (right next to the Westin Saint Francis). I’ll stay there again.

Big rooms! Lots of space to walk around and not feel like you're on top of each other. The toilet was to close to the shower for my liking cause my hip was touching the shower door. Staff was nice and the place was under construction which left the elevator looking weird but it functioned fine.

While I believe that the hotel's ideal was to be some sort of austere chique, it went too far. There was an absolutely fabulously comfort bed; however, the floor was concrete (no rug), there were only two uncushoned wood chairs, a small desk, and a lack of warmth about the room. The concrete floor made the room noisy, the other patrons' room noisy, moving the wood chairs around the room comically loud, and the neospresso machine sound like a hydraulic pump. These are whiny first-world conplaints, but they unfortunately detracted from all the positive aspects of the hotel--the friendly staff, the great location, and the excellent attached restaurant.
