Stayed 4 nights

What more can be said about this outstanding short-term rental that hasn’t already been mentioned in its many five-star reviews? We stayed in the loft at Papillon Cellars for four nights, and it exceeded our expectations. The loft was spacious, beautifully appointed, and exceptionally clean. The bedding and pillows were top-notch, making it easy to get a great night’s sleep after long days of hiking in Yosemite. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed to prepare a wonderful meal, and the propane grill was perfect for cooking steaks. Our hosts, Leo and Kim, were incredibly attentive and checked in with us each day to ensure we had everything we needed—without ever being intrusive. One of our favorite parts of the stay was relaxing on our private balcony and enjoying the peaceful evenings after our hikes. Papillon Cellars was the perfect place to unwind, recharge, and enjoy the beauty of the Yosemite area. We would gladly stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, peaceful, and thoughtfully appointed getaway. An easy five stars!

When it comes to places to stay while visiting Yosemite for a few days, you could choose to rough it and camp in the park — but that’s not for me. You could choose to stay in one of the in-park properties, but they cost an arm and a leg and the accommodations still look pretty barebones. OR you can choose the option away from the crowds that lets you relax in a cozy, quiet environment, go to sleep with the sound of frogs, wake up with the sound of birds, and enjoy the serenity of a beautiful, peaceful environment under the doting hospitality of Leo and Kim staying discreetly out of view but still making sure to offer you whatever you might need to make your stay right. It’s not a difficult decision, and it’s the one we will gladly make again if we come back to the area.

We were so glad we stayed at Papillon Cellars for our trip to the Yosemite area. The location was great -- very close to Mariposa for shopping and restaurants, but also an easy trip into Yosemite from either the route 140 or route 41 entrances. The property itself was absolutely gorgeous with phenomenal sunsets. We were there for our anniversary, and it was really romantic. The room was spacious and comfortable and there were lots of nice touches like a selection of books about the area. Our hosts were warm and helpful with recommendations. We will definitely try to stay there again next time we visit the area.
