A lovely property! The rooms were quite comfortable and the communal areas were nicely designed and very inviting. The attached Tavern was good and we especially enjoyed the bonfire out back. There were also lawn games set up, which was quite nice! The location was convenient to both Hunter and Tannersville, which had a lot of great hiking and restaurants.

This place was really cute and cozy. My husband and I stayed in the lower level bunk bed rooms and the beds were amazing - clean and comfortable. The bathroom was super spacious and spotless. My one and only complaint about the lower level rooms is that the lighting is pretty awful. It’s very dark in the room and more ceiling light is needed. This lodge also provides food at their on-site eatery - unfortunately, my husband and I waited an hour and a half for our dinner, and there were not many people in the dining area. I am sure they were short-staffed, but still, an hour and a half for a meal for two is pretty crazy. Hopefully they get that sorted out. The food (even though it took very long to be served) was very delicious, even the little side salads were fresh and very good. Overall, I would come back here. The staff were all really sweet and welcoming. We brought our dogs and the staff were so nice to them.

Overall the lodge was very clean, unique, and quirky with attention to decor. It loses points due to no pool, gym, nor elevator. The prices for the rooms in that instance don’t seem fair due to those major factors missing. The breakfast packed any hot meal options. The fire pit was a fun addition. The bed in our first room on the first floor 206 caused back pain but we were instantly moved the next day to a nicer suite, 306 with no charge and good bed. The sky light in the new room was just blinding you with light in the morning with no way to escape it. Not sure I would stay here again but most of the staff was lovely.

Paid 160 to stay the nite here which I've previously stayed here several times before because of the bar/taveren so you can eat and drink and don't have to drive well due to staffing issues and supposed delivery issues the bar and restaurant were closed because of a snow storm that was a day past. Plus the stairs into the main lodge weren't shoveled and the stairs were very snow covered and icey. Had to step over a ton of snow to get to snowy icey stairs.

This is a cute place to stay with a pleasant, rustic lobby that features board games and an appealing library. Our room also had some books, which was a nice touch. The hotel was clean and staff were friendly. Comfy beds, though I wish our room had had a chair. There was a firepit out back with the fire going. The hotel is dog-friendly and has ample space out back for walking, though when you check in, you are required to sign an agreement stating that you won't leave your crated dog alone in the room, which is something travelers, particularly solo travelers, may need to do. And get dinner somewhere else! The onsite restaurant has a small menu of mediocre food for astronomical prices.

Room and beds were comfortable. Bathroom was nice but missing some linens. Lighting in sleeping area insufficient and arms on lights above bed would not adjust to needed positions. -- Being "off season", restaurant was not open on night we were there and no cozy fire to sit by in the evening.

We enjoyed our weekend stay. Room was comfortable and clean. Front desk was polite and checking in was easy. My only feedback for the hotel staff would be to check ceiling in shower as it has mold that is obviously showing.

The first thing we noticed is that there were flies all over the place - over the free cookies in the lobby, in our bedroom and bath as soon as we checked in. That’s usually a sign of unclean conditions! Our room 111 felt like a dungeon in the basement- literally. It was below the parking lot and had very poor lighting. We had no shampoo in our room and had to wait a while to find housekeeping at around 8pm

Room and common areas looked exactly like the pictures. There were yummy cookies every afternoon but you had to get there quickly. Restaurant has a small and simple menu, but good food and nice vibe. Breakfast is basic, but free. So no complaints. Room was tidy, but under the beds was extremely dusty. For kids with intense allergies this was a problem. Housekeeping only changed out the garbage liners, no cleaning or tidying of the beds to be had. That’s why I deducted 1 star.

I rate the hotel 3. The lady who was there on check out was nice, and very pleasant. At check in though: The receptionist at the check in did not tell us about the amenities at all. The room was too close to the entrance. It was very noisy. I could hear every conversation in the dining room and reception area. One of the towels had a disgusting stain on it. The room decor was ok but the room has poor layout: the toilet is placed in the area with the shower and there is a door there that makes it hard to get in and out. The room we had , had a very dirty balcony. Full of bugs. And was looking into the parking lot. Breakfast was included but was very limited and basic. In summery, I would not stay there next time, There are many other options in that area. I would not stay there next time.

The website is totally deceiving. Parts of it the pictures were literally Photoshop. If you get a room on the backside and can see the mountains it is nice but if you end up with a room facing the road and telephone poles and wires is terrible. The rooms are dark And the morning breakfast is way worse than a Hampton Inn.

Really comfortable stay. Room was large, bed was nice. We stayed in a room with a patio and loved that we could just walk right outside and take in the view and wander around. The location was good, a relatively short ride to several hiking spots and attractions.

It always was a beautiful place! The only thing I do not like after renovation - the rooms are TOOOOO DARK, with only 1 weak light bulb on a ceiling in a big room. It is kind of depressed...... Take a FLASHLIGHT with you, if you want to book a room there

Our king room was very spacious and clean. Bed mattress in Rm 208 was not great and should be replaced. There have been too many bodies in the same spot and the mattress indents are terrible. This makes all the difference in a hotel stay when you can wake refreshed and ready to travel. This was not the case for us. Breakfast is average and there are up-charges for juice and egg sandwiches and fresh fruit is lacking - please consider bananas. Balcony railings should be paint refreshed. Pros include nice bath products, great blow dryer and comfortable room furniture.

BEWARE: The photos of the rooms online are inaccurate. I booked the Deluxe King Balcony, because the photos for that specific room are shown as a Mountain View, but instead we had a very ugly and noisy Parking Lot View on the first floor. There were constantly cars coming in and out and shining their lights into our room which was very annoying. I paid $20 extra to have the balcony, which we didn’t even use because we didn’t want the whole parking lot to be looking at us on the balcony. The room is literally 5 feet from the parking lot, we had a car park right in front of our balcony, there is 0 privacy. The room is also on the side of a very busy and loud street. The hotel needs to specify which rooms are Parking Lot View and which rooms are Mountain View because that makes a huge difference. They also have rooms in the basement.

We choose this property because they had mountain views and onsite bar and restaurant. The bar and restaurant were closed, the room was a noisy parking lot view, and I complained about how the room was represented. He upgraded us to a Mountain View room at no extra cost to compensate. But THEN our credit card bill as charged the upgraded price. What a scam. This is the first bad review I’ve given through Expedia. I’ll probably use another service from now on.

I arrived super late from a flight into LGA and drove up 2hrs to check in right before midnight. I was worried a small hotel like this in a small town would be closed, and not only were the doors open, they left an envelope for me with my name on it with my room key. Crisis averted! THANK YOU!

The hotel is well located in the Hunter mountain in the Catskills. We got the larger room with the loft and it was comfortable if not fancy. Bathroom and shower were good. The part that needs improvement is the staff. Every single person in the front office seemed very unhappy and didn't make an effort to show otherwise.

Workers and manager were rude and completely unhelpful. Once they had our money, they could not care less about our comfort or safety. They let two eighteen year old girls sleep in their car rather than help to find another place to stay or show flexibility with their policy (that you have to be 21 to check in, which is stricter than state law).

This lodge is located in a very convenient place if you are looking to go to Hunter Mountain. It’s less than a mile away, there are cafes, bars, eateries also within the mile - so you definitely won’t feel in the middle of nowhere. The lodge is recently renovated, and it looks very nicely done. The rooms can be a bit dark, but it matches the overall lodge ambiance the place has. The bar and restaurant inside the lodge is very nice and convenient. The grab and go breakfast is well put together. And lastly, I didn’t have any issues with the staff/service like others did. I thought they were all helpful; from the bartender to the receptionist - they were all friendly as well.

Nice place, unique. It does not feel like a chain restaurant. The lounge is very cool and the fireplaces in the common areas are really nice. It is very convenient to get to the slopes at Hunter Mountain. My only suggestion is have coffee out before 8am. Some of wake up early.

Nice stay, but a few aspects disappointing: - Free breakfast was awful, it didn’t start until 8am which is so impractical if you have young children and the food was so limited/basic/unhealthy, just bagels with no proper fillings (cream cheese/ peanut butter), granola (with no nuts, seeds or fruit), sweet yogurts and muffins. There was no fruit juice, no protein, no bread. On the second day we went to Fellow down for an egg roll so that we had proper fuel to go for a hike. The food was worst than a motel. - the Tavern restaurant is only open Thursday so we couldn’t eat anything in the evening at the hotel. - the housekeeping was limited, didn’t change the drinking glasses, just made the bed and took out trash.

Bluebird Hunter Lodge is one of those rare find hotels that just surprises you when you arrive. The property overall had that cozy, winter getaway feel, complete with wooden floors and accents, a warm fireplace, and mountain views. It was the perfect location, super close to Hunter Mountain. It was so easy to roll out of bed and hit the slopes. The only complaint I had was the breakfast options and the restaurant located within the lodge. They offered only coffee, tiny dry muffins, and yogurt for breakfast. The restaurant also offered meals that were pretty pricey. The bread that came with the meatballs were burnt but the meatballs itself were tasty. The poutine we ordered also seemed more like disco fries and it came a little burnt as well. Besides these complaints, I would still highly recommend this property and would definitely stay here again.
