We enjoyed our stay at the Gorse Hill immensely. Parking is plentiful, which is a good thing because the hotel is quite isolated, with nothing but woodland and high end private houses in the vicinity. We stayed in a Lodge room, which was part of a small annex about 100 yards from the main house. It was small but comfortable and absolutely fine for our needs, feeling "cosy" in the best possible way. The average age of staff was quite low and they sometimes were not as attentive as they might have been in the public areas, but were very obliging when sought out for service such as drinks, teas etc. The Maitre D' was excellent and made sure we had an enjoyable time in the restaurant. The meals were pricey (where isn't nowadays?) but the quality was superb and we had no complaints. On the whole we would recommend the Gorse Hill.

Really nice hotel in a beautiful setting, very comfortable and clean room. We didn't use the restaurant or bar, as we spent most of our time looking after elderly relative in the area, but I imagine it would be very good, if the rooms were to go by

Stayed in mansion house (as part of a wedding stay) and twice in courtyard annex, and found courtyard annex rooms superior in regards to condition, facilities and quietness. Breakfast quite acceptable consisting of cold buffet portion (usual cereals, juices, fruit and bakery items) and cooked-to-order hot portion. Plenty of car parking space and only a short taxi ride from Woking station for those without own transport. Bar/restaurant menu quite acceptable if not a bit on the pricey side. Nice terrace and grounds and pleasant walking paths in immediate vicinity provided you avoid the golf balls!

We had room 48, which was on the ground floor of the annex and was small and dark. The wardrobe was small. No drawers. The extractor fan in the bathroom didn’t work and the bathroom and bedroom were full of condensation. The window looked out onto a public footpath, which was busy. We had to keep the curtains closed for privacy. The outside of the window hadn’t been cleaned for quite some time and was dirty and full of cobwebs/spider webs.

Singage on doors is poor. the website Ai chat bot give the wrong time for breakfast. and at 4:30am when staff go home they play loud car stereo and shout across the court yard. following morning someone used the toilets near reception and the strench of crap lingured. just som simple air freshener would of helped. a lot of little things to improve.

The hotel advertises itself as pet friendly. However, as pet owners, we were treated to inferior accommodation, away from the hotel building itself, on the border of the surrounding grounds. The room was not well cleaned, with items found on the floor, faeces in the toilet and rust as well as flakes of paint found in the bath. The bathroom door was damaged along the bottom. The basin plug was too small so water leaked out. All the windows were locked and no keys were provided.

The hotel building itself was beautiful and staff were friendly. We were a little disappointed with our room however, it had a small staircase to get too and felt very ‘old’ - must admit the biggest disappointments was the radiator, an oil one! For the price we paid for the two nights, this was a bit of a shame. The bed was comfortable, but the coldness of the room did make us avoid using the bathroom as much as we could too! We didn’t have food in the restaurant but the staff were kind enough to deliver room service for no extra costs. I liked the feel of the main hotel building but wouldn’t really want to stay in the room we stayed in this time again.

A decent hotel but unfortunately quite limited in terms of amenities and services. The main issue is that it’s a wood framed building and so you can hear all the footsteps from the room above. In addition the cars are parked directly outside the rooms. This can be quite noisy too as there is no AC and so the windows need to be open. Finally, the mattress is super soft which may suit some but not others (though the sheets were super nice and comfy)

Beautiful hotel in a lovely area. Our stay was in a double bedded room with high ceilings, large windows and a good sized bath room. We felt it could have done with air conditioning or at least a fan as the room was very warm and windows only opened 5 inches. I also didn’t like the bed not having a headboard! The breakfast was great - lots of choice and all the staff we met were very pleasant.

Had an overnight stay for my son’s wedding which was at the hotel. The whole day and our stay was wonderful. Breakfast was fabulous. Staff so friendly and attentive.

Booked 15 rooms for 3 nights for our golfing trip. Transmitted rooming list to the hotel 5 weeks ahead of our trip but they forgot to transfer to the reception which meant that 2 guests where not listed and one room was missing !!! There was only one basic lodge room left which was their worst room as it was only 10 yards from the main road. In short, I was downgraded from a suite to the worst room of the hotel. The next morning they found out that our 15th room was finally available and was not used. The hotel manager did not want to admit for all the mistakes and this was very disappointing in terms of customer service. I paid the full price of 3 suites, 1 twin and 11 deluxe double rooms although I spent the night in the cheapest room because of their mistakes. We will certainly not be returning to this hotel next year for our golfing trip in Woking !

Absolutely fantastic place to stay especially if going to a Passing Out Parade at Pirbright. The staff were amazing and went out of their way and the rooms and service was exceptional. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

I booked and paid for at the point of booking a suite! When I got here they told me the suite wasn’t available and only a deluxe twin. A room with two single beds just pushed together. There was no offer of a refund or any compensation for paying for a more expensive room then receiving this. I was told that it was due to a leak in the room. Yet there was a wedding at the hotel and they were given the room I had booked and paid for. No honesty and no compensation for the money I had paid.

We had to stand in a long line for 15 minutes waiting to check in. Whilst drunken men staggered back and forth talking coursely. The hotel was hosting a drunken celebration. Our room was the wrong configeration & not what we booked. The staff blamed the problem on us.

1) booked the lodge room because on the website only rooms at the lodge have private bathrooms, which turned out not to be the case. When later I asked to be moved to the main building, I never got the answer and I let it go. 2) I arrived at the place one hour early, and the room was available, I was told I could check in early but need to pay 15 pounds for that privilege. 3) The lodge room is small with big furniture so you can’t really lounge there. 4) Watertank of the toilet drips so one has to close the bathroom door. 5) wedding guests in the same building banged doors 3am in the morning.

We enjoyed our stay at the Gorse Hill immensely. Parking is plentiful, which is a good thing because the hotel is quite isolated, with nothing but woodland and high end private houses in the vicinity. We stayed in a Lodge room, which was part of a small annex about 100 yards from the main house. It was small but comfortable and absolutely fine for our needs, feeling "cosy" in the best possible way. The average age of staff was quite low and they sometimes were not as attentive as they might have been in the public areas, but were very obliging when sought out for service such as drinks, teas etc. The Maitre D' was excellent and made sure we had an enjoyable time in the restaurant. The meals were pricey (where isn't nowadays?) but the quality was superb and we had no complaints. On the whole we would recommend the Gorse Hill.

Beautiful hotel from the outside in a lovely setting and convenient for a day in London from Woking train station. We also went to Hampton Court Palace. The food was of a high standard but we were disappointed with the room, it was boring and drab. We have stayed in other hotels with much more of a wow factor.

Really nice hotel in a beautiful setting, very comfortable and clean room. We didn't use the restaurant or bar, as we spent most of our time looking after elderly relative in the area, but I imagine it would be very good, if the rooms were to go by

Stayed in mansion house (as part of a wedding stay) and twice in courtyard annex, and found courtyard annex rooms superior in regards to condition, facilities and quietness. Breakfast quite acceptable consisting of cold buffet portion (usual cereals, juices, fruit and bakery items) and cooked-to-order hot portion. Plenty of car parking space and only a short taxi ride from Woking station for those without own transport. Bar/restaurant menu quite acceptable if not a bit on the pricey side. Nice terrace and grounds and pleasant walking paths in immediate vicinity provided you avoid the golf balls!

The room was of a great stand. The staff are very attentive and efficient. The food was excellent and very well presented. The waitress are very attentive. The bar man came round to inform guests, the time for last orders. The visit we made just happen to be the hottest day of 2025. In the room we stayed in i didn't notice air conditioning. This is NOT a a complaint IT an observation. All roud on our visits a very good value for the money we paid via Expedia.Keep up the great work you are doing.

We stayed for 1 night for our wedding anniversary. The hotel and grounds are fantastic and staff are very attentive. The food (dinner & breakfast) were both very nice. We stayed in room 43, a double deluxe. The room & bathroom were a nice size and clean, the bed was comfortable too. The reason we only gave a 3 is we had a really bad night's sleep due to a loud humming noise, we had the night manager up to the room to listen but he didn't know what it could be. Shame really as otherwise it would have been a great stay.
