We loved our stay at The Royal Hotel. Its near the beach, shops, restaraunts, and theatre. My husband and I have mobility problems ,so this hotel was perfect for us. The hotel is a beautiful building. Looks very grand, corriders always clean and tidy, has a lift to all rooms. Our room was spacious and clean. Furniture a bit tired , a little noisy from the bars but it didnt worry us. Our room was serviced every day with fresh towels. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was perfectly cooked with a variety of fruit, yogurt, toast and jams. All in all it was a perfect place to stay for us. We will be back!

A nice place to stay before and after a holiday flight from Bristol Airport. Ideally located within the town with good free parking and easy access to the shops restaurants and the sea front. The hotel condition is a bit dated now but that just adds to its charm. The bedroom was warm and comfortable with a good bathroom and all very clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

Very nice, traditional hotel. Friendly staff: big, free car park and excellent location close to shops and beach. Can be noisy- rooms at the front overlook several bars which are loud, especially at closing. Rooms at the back have wonderful sea views but overlook the bar and outside area where weddings etc may be celebrated quite late into the night!

Old fashion seaside hotel, it was in the right place with free parking for guests, seafront, pier all within a few minutes, and winter garden pavilion adjacent, where we had an event in the afternoon to attend, just about right, would look to book again,

Nice friendly place full of character. High ceilings and spacious rooms. Very good breakfast. WiFi is hit and miss depending on where you are, but good speeds when you get them. Ideal position for the shops restaurants and pubs and free overnight parking outside. A safe area. Ideal overnight stay for Bristol airport - about a 30 minute drive away. Request a sea view room via the app - if you don’t you won’t automatically get one.

Lovely staff, lovely lobby and parking so close to the seafront was great, lots of options at breakfast and easy to have a meal with no notice. However, on arrival, there was rubbish on the floor - snickers wrapper and crisp packet. The wallpaper was scraped off the walls in several places. Carpet threadbare all over. Good coffee facilities. Beds uncomfortable but seemed clean.

Very dated and poorly presented room, up a very narrow and twisting staircase. We felt as though we had been put in the servant's quarters! No glasses in room or bathroom for brushing teeth. Towels very worn and thin (albeit clean), so difficult to dry off after bathing. No working fan in bathroom - partially covered by duct tape! Extremely bright green LED light over door illuminated the whole room when trying to sleep. No staff on reception when leaving hotel, so no chance of expressing dissatisfaction. Overall this hotel seemed very neglected and needing a huge capital injection to bring it up to a reasonable standard. We will not be staying here again, and would recommend others to look elsewhere.

We couldn't stay due to finding bedbugs on the head board. Staff couldn't give a refund, it was now 11.58pm so we had to sleep in the car. Not happy still no promised refund or correspondence Horrendous experience Never staying at the Royal again. Minus 10 stars..

Overall a very good stay , room was clean but were slight area for improvement bath had small chip in enamel and shower awkward to use going cold at times.tiwels slightly frayed 1st day but much better quality when replaced second day. Main room curtains frayed and radiator had marks along top. Furniture dated but clean and usable.wanted a bath mat which was supplied straight away. All staff were very friendly , food was well cooked and tasty and it's the 1st toaster they does great toast 1st time. Had really good break so thanks to all.

The first room was like something out of the shining and filthy. Especially the bathroom there is no way i coild have slept in that room. I went down to rdception and the lady on reception kkndly changed my room which was much better but still mould i the bsthroom and the carpet really dirty. The bed was very comfortable but the room was freezing and no heating working. We booked two rooms and my friends room was nice so i think i was unlucky. The hotel definately needs some tlc. Avoid room 108 at all costs.

We have stayed before so we already knew the hotel; - Staff courteous and efficient. - The room was spacious, clean, light and airy, - Breakfast This time though there were a few niggles. - Parking: insufficient information i.e not clear where we could park (permit etc); - Key card did’nt work, however quickly dealt with; - Long hair on the shower wall; - Bed REALLY uncomfortable (springs felt)/pillow hard hence we couldn’t get to sleep; - More hand towels needed; - No drinking glasses ie water etc; - No information book; - Bath/shower, VERY hard to get in and out. No slip-mat included (accident waiting to happen); - No sockets near bed (charge phones etc).

Easy access. Opposite the beach. Rooms quite dated - bits missing from wallpaper, toilet seat loose. Green light above door to show exit was extremely bright and venetian blinds did not stop security light. Probably the worst night sleep we had - a shame as the room was nice with a large bathroom. Staff very nice, as was the food.

Double bed mattress was extremely soft. Shower wasn’t very powerful at all, it also fluctuated in temperature a lot which would be an issue with children using it. Room dated however it was clean. We didn’t use the restaurant but the bar seemed pleasant.

The room itself was ok but the curtains were too light and let the bright sunshine in very early in the morning which woke me up with the dawn chorus. The T.V. was far too small to see anything from the bed. We needed more milk for the coffee.

Only there for two nights. Room 104. Not a lot regal about the Royal. Building is very grand but shows signs of its age. Handy for town, which is similarly showing signs of wear and tear. Free parking a godsend. Room on small side. Would say very clean. Mattress on bed, springs almost collapsed. No solution offered, ‘they’re all the same’, according to reception. No power-points at side of bed. Annoying green security light on all night, big and green. Like a spooky moon.😳 Gap round/ under door. Door not hung straight. Carpet, good condition. Room well provisioned Not overpriced for facilities available. Reception staff pleasant and helpful. Can park early/ leave late despite Booking In/Out times. Didn’t eat in but menus looked interesting and reasonably priced.

We enjoyed our stay. It was clean and comfortable. The location is perfect for the beach and shops and free parkinf is an additional bonus. We had an issue with a lost car key but Sofia, the receptionist was extremely helpful. The Royal have a member of staff who is real credit to the Company. Breakfast was plentiful with a good range of food. The only real downside was the loud music from lunchtime onwards, in the outside bar. It did not stop until quite late which made it difficult to sleep if you want an early night.

Check in on Friday afternoon was friendly and quick. Although there was an issue with the one room keycard however that was resolved quickly and satisfactory. Check out on Sunday morning was again quick and easy. However on Sunday morning we decided to have breakfast. We asked in the restaurant if we could have and they sent us to reception to pay, this was ok but she was not very friendly. We paid for 3 breakfasts and went back to her. She didn’t explain what the procedure was so we just sat down. There was no food left on the buffet and I had to ask if it was being replaced. There was no orange juice, again had to ask. I had some cereal but again no milk! The 2 young girls were all to interested in chatting to each other and not checking on tables or food to see if it needed replacing etc. the scrambled eggs looked like vomit when brought out. Check in on Friday afternoon was friendly and quick. Although there was an issue with the one room keycard however that was resolved quickly and satisfactory. Check out on Sunday morning was again quick and easy. However on Sunday morning we decided to have breakfast. We asked in the restaurant if we could have and they sent us to reception to pay, this was ok but she was not very friendly. We paid for 3 breakfasts and went back to her. She didn’t explain what the procedure was so we just sat down. There was no food left on the buffet and I had to ask if it was being replaced. There was no orange juice, again had to ask. I had some cereal but again no milk! The 2 young girls were all to interested in chatting to each other and not checking on tables or food to see if it needed replacing etc. the scrambled eggs looked like vomit when brought out. I would not recommend breakfast at all here and if I stay at the hotel again then breakfast will be at spoons next door! The Royal Hotel is now very run down, beds are lumpy and old, very noisy in the corridors, lights on all night inside and outside of the building, the restaurant closed at 8pm even though they advertise last orders at 8.45. No room service and £3.50 for a bottle of water. I left at 5am as I couldn't sleep with the noise and lights. I'm afraid I won't be staying again

Last minute check in on a Wednesday 29th, just after leaving a very bad hotel there call the Savoy i mean very bad. So any checking in was greated by a lovely young lady name Nicole was very affiliate explaining the how things are in the hotel if i needed any thing. Well done i shall be back .

Stayed a number of times here before and have to say things are slipping. Staff don’t seem to enjoy there work. The rooms are desperate for a make over now. Even the kettle had mould inside.

What would have been a pleasant stay was destroyed by the two very large pubs across the road from the front of the hotel, directly opposite our room. The very loud music and screaming/shouting went on until after 3am!! I know the noise was not within the control of the hotel, but some advance warning would have been nice, we would not have booked there 😡😡. Other than that, the staff were excellent, everything was clean and very well maintained. The food in the restaurant was very good, and the portions generous. All that was lacking was any possibility of sleeping!

Very nice, traditional hotel. Friendly staff: big, free car park and excellent location close to shops and beach. Can be noisy- rooms at the front overlook several bars which are loud, especially at closing. Rooms at the back have wonderful sea views but overlook the bar and outside area where weddings etc may be celebrated quite late into the night!

Good value for money in reasonable condition. Warm and clean convenient for what we were in Weston Super Mare for. Will stay again when out in the evening in Weston as not much more expensive than 2 return train tickets and a taxi from Bristol Temple Meads to home. Cooked breakfast very nice and spent the following morning walking the front at Weston. Coffe and cake at the bistro at Uphill then drive home to Bristol. Excellent stay.

Great location close to beach and a 2 minute walk to shopping in centre of Weston. large car park off road. one restaurant only open weekends which is a shame as only option was bar food, but food was very good . Very nice breakfast buffet, staff very approachable. Staff all very professional. Will return in future and recommend for family members.

From the moment we walked through the door, we found the reception staff very friendly, informative, professional, The room was very clean, everything you need, very spacious, with some furniture of history, which we liked to see, sparked a memory of our younger days, My partner was happy to see she had a hairdryer as well. Bar staff where very polite, great outdoor space where we sat chilling ,We also had breakfast, we where greated by the young ladies with smiles on there faces, which goes along way first thing in the morning. Breakfast was first class, plenty of variation, we had a full English breakfast which was very tasty, you could see that the hotel uses high class ingredients which certainly makes a diffrence! We would definitely recommend the "The Royal Hotel" and look forward to returning sometime. Please keep up the brilliant work you are all doing!!!

Overall a very good stay , room was clean but were slight area for improvement bath had small chip in enamel and shower awkward to use going cold at times.tiwels slightly frayed 1st day but much better quality when replaced second day. Main room curtains frayed and radiator had marks along top. Furniture dated but clean and usable.wanted a bath mat which was supplied straight away. All staff were very friendly , food was well cooked and tasty and it's the 1st toaster they does great toast 1st time. Had really good break so thanks to all.

Hotel room was fine. Big enough for us with our daughter in the bunk. Shower was a bit mouldy but otherwise ok. Outside noise was intrusive and disruptive running late into Saturday night. Room 110 is also on a busy corner street with cars revving up towards the seafront circuit. Breakfast was ok but limited choice of eggs.

Spacious, room was really nice , nice decor comfortable sleep . Price paid was value for money for 3 night stay however , when checking.out we had one breakfast for two which I had to pay for which was £31.90 which I thought was very expensive, and was only a average breakfast .

Charming seaside resort close to shopping areas, but also close to karaoke bars that did not feature any talent. Still, it was great to go for a walk along the sea in the morning. Breakfast was good, but pricey for what it was. Room was nice, clean and warm.
