The ground floor bar and restaurant was well decorated. We looked at the 2nd floor suites which are very art deco in their execution but very glitzy. Room could do with a refurb but everything you could need was there. The best part of the stay though was the restaurant food. We were assured it was all freshly cooked and it was excellent. We had Dinner and Breakfast and both were great as was the service for both meals.

arrival at check-in we were sent to our room, only to find it was still being cleaned.directed back to the lobby, where we had to wait with our luggage. Given the inconvenience, we expected at least a complimentary drink as a goodwill gesture,nothing was offered. Instead, my partner was mistakenly charged £9 for a non-alcoholic wine, which was later corrected to £6 after we pointed out the error. Service at the bar was slow, waiting 15 minutes to be served and we waited nearly an hour before our room was finally ready. When we were allowed up, the cleaner was still in the room. Given our mobility issues, and the long wait we had already endured, it would have been reasonable for staff to offer assistance with our luggage—yet no such offer was made. The net curtain had a hole in it, there was loud noise from the adjacent ballroom until midnight. noise is understandable, no complimentary earplugs were provided. The bed was uncomfortably hard, making it difficult to sleep, and between that and the noise we got a few hours sleep. Wifi unsuable couldnt call my partners daughter which was upsetting for her.

This hotel is truly a unique experience. The decor is spectacular and the staff professional and friendly. Our room 220 was amazing. All the meals we had here were plentiful and delicious. There is free charging for electric vehicles in the spacious car park. There are 2 beautiful parks on the doorstep and it is a gentle, flat 15 minute walk into town. There really is no better place to stay in Doncaster.

Lovely art deco style building within easy walking distance of the centre of Doncaster, the shops, market, theatre, cinema etc. Friendly staff from first arrival, spacious and clean room. Free parking at the back very useful.

Excellent parking at the rear of the hotel and easy access from car park to reception. Staff were very friendly and helpful and check in was quick. Had a large wine in the bar which only cost £8. bar staff were great. The bedroom was very big and comfortable. The hotel is retro 1930's but has been refurbished to a very high standard. All of the hotel is immaculate.

The lobby was beautiful and unique. The staff we interacted with were very polite, professional & helpful. The room was clean and looked good upon entry. After being in for a while, we noticed dirty windows, holes in the carpet & ripped furniture. I also seen a bit of mould in the shower. The information on the restaurant/cafe and food all varied, one menu said it shut around 5pm, another said 9pm. Although the food we did receive was nice, the menu was quite limited. The tv signal was very patchy and around 10pm or so, we lost signal completely which did not come back on until the next morning. The same happened on the second night. I also spent most of the weekend using mobile data as the internet was patchy too, although it said I had full bars. Upon return to the room on the second night, we found that although the room had been tidied, it had not been replenished of toilet rolls, tissue (which we only had 4 in the tissue box to start off with) or shower gel.

The room was clean, the staff were friendly and helpful. There was no UK 3 pin socket near the bed to plug in my CPAP machine. The hot water was intermittent. The bed was very uncomfortable. But for the staff, this review would have been 2 stars.

Superb decor with great attention to detail. Rooms were really nice though the shower was awful with poor water pressure that kept stopping flow (maybe when the room next door used at same time). Reception & restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful.

Paid for an executive room but I am afraid it was not acceptable. The hotel has sealed the windows in the room and the only ventilation is from the a/c. Upon entering the room we were overwhelmed with the intense heat that has built up. We switched on the air con and set it to the fast speed and coldest temp. 2 hrs later and the room was still very hot. We tried another room and it was the same situation. Even worse in fact because the 2 hrs we spent in the first room was watered. We had to start over again. I had to ask reception for a fan and they did give us a fan that helped.

The entrance of the hotel and its 1920s glamour ends at the entrance. The room was tired, sockets and lamps didnt work, tiles were chipped in the bathroom. The feathers on the lamp were hanging off. The carpet was in need of some tlc and the bathroom towel heater didnt work either. The staff were friendly but for me the money is spent in the wrong places here, printed napkins and fancy biscuits and Jams, and white company products and forgotten the basics of a beautiful room and good food. The best bit about the hotel was its location to the Doncaster centre and race track.

I have stayed at the Earl many times over the decades. The staff haven't changed and i think this is an indication of how well the hotel is ran. The ladies on reception and breakfast are lovely. This time we had room 406, lovely big room overlooking carpark. Very quiet. Highly recommend

The check in wasn’t a great experience - the reception was loud and brash … apparently I only booked the room for one on hotels.com and I should have given my husbands name … I’ve checked and when ya book for 2 it doesn’t ask for a name… she made me feel like had done something wrong… with a large group around us ….pretty rude person

On arrival the outside seating area looked ready for a refresh and then the reception seemed disinterested in our arrival so not a good start. When I asked the receptionist if I should pay now she said now or later it's up to you so I paid then. She informed me that there were two lifts and we could use either so I asked which was the closest to our room as my sister has mobility issues, she said there was the same distance between so it didn't matter which we used, but later on we discovered that the second one, the one we didn't use, was literally a dozen steps from the room whereas the one we used entailed much more walking than that, the receptionist should have told us that. However, she did offer to get us a taxi and gave us some information about where we were going. After that we found the bar staff very good indeed, the cleaners pleasant and helpful. We also loved the full on art deco design! Our twin room was spacious with a good walk in shower and a roomy bathroom. Plenty of clothes storage, good towels and toiletries and comfy beds. The cleanliness was excellent throughout. Therefore we would return but do think one receptionist could do with a little more training. The other two I came across were professional, friendly and helpful.

About 20 mins walk from the doncaster train station. This hotel was beautiful. A kind of Charleston vibe to it. Breakfast was £15 each and well worth it. The bar is very comfortable and the decor is immaculate. Beds are extremely comfortable. I cant fault this hotel itself. However the area that its situated in is not great.

I thought the hotel was really nice and staff were very friendly…but I think the food is over rated and over priced..we had the fish pie and it was very dry ..also fish and chips ..not sure what fish it was ( not cod or haddock)..but was very very well done…and at £50.85 with tip…very expensive…

Amazing hotel with outstanding dining room and breakfast is 10star not less including pleasant and caring restaurant staff. All options veg and non veg and variety of smoked fish available. Room was average with basic facilities and tidy. TV remote wasn't working properly , shower head slowed down while taking shower, bed mattress was poking me with it's springs . It was twin bedroom may be the other rooms had no issues. Still over all very good
