Great location and views for a reasonable cost. Staff was very nice and did a great job. Wow The problem is they have two elevators and one was out, so it was an extremely long wait to go up and down to the top floors. They need to get the second elevator working.

Very nice staff at check-in and check out. Property was clean. Pool was clean and properly maintained.

There is only 2 elevators and only 1 was working. We waited 20 minutes for the only working elevator. At times we had no choice but to take the stairs.

I would definitely recommend this hotel. We did have to wait an hour after check in time, because our room wasn't ready. But they were very busy. And there was a place to sit with furniture and air conditioning to wait. They have a small shop attached to the lobby. They also have a small area to get free refreshments. Water, coffee, tea and juice. The elevators and hallway to the rooms aren't air conditioned, but that's okay. Our room was clean. The bed was very comfortable. And the view was amazing. The TV is basic channels. But we didn't go to the beach to watch TV. And there was still some good shows to watch while going to bed. (Friends, Modern Family). Parking is limited. But extra parking is literally right across the street. Not far at all. The outlets need changed! Our chargers kept falling out. Maid service is upon request. Which is fine. I did meet the cleaning lady in the hall and trade off our dirty towels for clean ones. She was very friendly, just like all the staff we met during our stay. I have photos to show our room and view.

This older hotel is clean with comfortable beds. It has an open parking lot that we like for our truck with a bike rack. The view is great as the whole end of the room was window and sliding glass door. Coffee and juice machine down stairs and a gift shop with some grocery’s attached. Lobby bathrooms with a beach side entrance was great for beach day. The rates were much less than the high end hotels. We will definitely stay there again.

For the money , it was perfect ! Location , all rooms Oceanside and walk out lobby door and be on the beach. Only issue we had was the elevator or lack there of. One was out of order and the only working one could take 15 minutes to get up to the 8th floor. It of course was fixed on the day we checked out.

The parking lot wasn’t good experience and I had to pay for two nights for my other car even that I paid the room second thing was it there was only one elevator working, and the hallways were very, very hot and humid.

Front desk was very nice! Pool was nice! Rooms were nice! Love seeing the water from the room.

It’s an older building so it has a few minor structural eyesores (visible patch work in the ceiling was the main thing) but, super clean overall. It’s a great stay at the price point. Don’t expect the Sheraton for less than $100 per night. Customer Service and cleanliness made the stay worth it. The parking is limited on site however, there is an overflow lot across the street behind another establishment.

The hotel is okay, but honestly, for the price, I expected better. The TV in our room was not properly mounted and was just leaning against the wall—it nearly fell on my 3-year-old, which was very concerning. On our last day, I also noticed baby roaches in the room, which made me worry about bringing them home in our luggage. Housekeeping is only available upon request, and no breakfast is offered. Overall, not the best value for what we paid.

Patio was dirty, tub didn't drain, parking lot had roaches from it being dirty.

The hotel is in an excellent location. All of the rooms have balconies overlooking the ocean. The sunrises are beautiful! We even saw dolphins one morning. The hotel needs updating. The room was mostly clean. There was black mold on one of the lampshades. Our trip was in October so the rates were much lower. I would have been mad if I had paid in season rates for the room.

There was only like 5 people staying In the hotel which should have been the first red flag, then I wake up literally covered all over in red itchy marks. IT WAS BED BUGS!!!!! When I called to tell manger, she had the nerve to tell me I was lying, even with proof. This hotel is completely disgusting from the staff to the beds. Had to throw all of my items away.DONT STAY. It’s a reason it’s this cheap.

Staff were great! Super friendly and helpful. The room was not up to par. The toilet seat looked like it belonged in a crack house. Carpet was sticky and tore up. Bathtub didn’t drain, despite many efforts to fix it. Balcony isn’t private. Despite all the signs, the no smoking wasn’t enforced, so we sadly had to stay in our room due to the smell and one of our kids being allergic to second hand smoke. It was nice having vending machines and a store in the hotel.

The property was located in a wonderful spot on the VA beach strip. There was so much to do directly outside of the hotel! We loved the spot, but the cleanliness of the hotel rooms are definitely lacking, and sadly I would not consider Ocean Resort again solely for that reason.

There were several bugs in the room. It is outdated. You could see parts of the ceiling around the door that had been peeling. There were 2 elevators and only one was working. The cleaning crew used the same elevators which made waiting for an elevator for the entire building very slow since there were 8 floors and waiting was very warm since there is no AC in the indoor corridors outside of the rooms.

Good stay but the property needs updated a little bit. The aur conditioner in our room worked but barely. The balconies were good unless you had neighbor's then they could hear everything you said because there isnt a break in between.

This hotel is a dump. IF YOU CAN AFFORD BETTER, THEN STAY BETTER. So many things wrong, idk where to start. I guess I'll start with the positives - check in was at 4, I was able to check-in at 1pm. The woman at the front desk and other people who worked at the front desk were very kind. -AC works well -beautiful ocean/boardwalk view from room. -4th of July fireworks were set off right in front of hotel Now for the cons -The hotel is DIRTY. My room was dirty. Carpets looked like they werw never cleaned

We were on the highest floor 8th floor and corner room. Balconies do not have privacy as you are able to see your neighbor next door. The view of the ocean was great and you can see dolphins cruising down the beach. Bed sheets looked crinkled like they had not been changed and the other smelled of a person's perfume. Sink did not drain well but shower was nice with sufficient pressure and hit water. The toilet paper holder felt like it was ready to break off from the wall. TV was small. Hallways to rooms are not AC and very hot. Doors are thin and don't shut tight so make sure you pull it shut. AC worked but rattles and is not quiet. Aircraft flights overhead were not deafening like the other hotel we stayed in further down the beach the prior two nights. You get what you pay for.

Let’s talk about the good, the bad, and the ugly shall we? The good: location! It literally opens up to the boardwalk, so you can’t beat this location, period. The balcony had a beautiful view of the ocean, and the hotel is right on Atlantic; steps from restaurants, shops etc. location is 10/10. The bad: Wifi is very slow and spotty except right beside the front door. The restroom is TIGHT. The door LITERALLY rubbed the toilet bowl to open. You couldn’t be at the sink and have someone open the door it’s that tight, not kidding. The TV was basic, with analog cable. VERY limited channel selection. Many channels were grainy. Blast from the past. View from the balcony was spectacular. Unfortunately there was only a demi wall between us and our neighbours, so there is essentially no privacy on the balcony. Everyone sits there staring at each other. The parking? The hotel property itself fills up QUICKLY and we were forced to use the overflow lot across the street most of the time. Weekends, even the overflow fills up. If you go out, you may not find a spot when you get back. Want a spot in the hotel lot? Try looking around checkout time: 8:00am to 11:00am. Then never move your car. The pool was nice enough. We enjoyed it. No complaints. No real complaints about the staff: house keeping is by appointment only, which we appreciated. We didn’t use the housekeeping service at all. Would we stay here again? Likely. Lots of compromises to be made, but location is A+

This is a budget friendly hotel. If you don’t plan on spending much time in the room, it’s clean but extremely outdated, large cracks in the ceiling and walls, paint peeling on the balcony, a really small TV with just a few channels (the size of a PC screen), and one of the lowest toilets I’ve seen. The upside is the COFFEE MAKER in the lounge area…it’s very nice. You can choose from Coffee, Hot Chocolate and various specialty coffees. May not seem like much, but it’s a perk! Unfortunately it rained every day of our stay so we were stuck in the room more than usual. Luckily there is a Bowling Alley, “Pinboy’s” just a few minutes away…which has an arcade as well…and reasonably priced! There are also museums and a few other attractions nearby. Would I stay here again…maybe.

Pros: Very conveniently located. All rooms are facing the beach with no obstruction of other buildings. Staff is friendly. Room was clean. There are enough eating and shopping (gift shops) options. Cons: Parking lot is not big enough to accommodate one car per room. Once the lot is full, the car needs to be taken to another lot (not adjoining). We didn't face this situation but saw many taking their car to the other lot on Friday evening. It's not very convenient Rooms appear old. Specially the electric connection points are old, and phone chargers drop off. There are no USB points. In our room the refrigerator made a sound as if someone is using a small drill :-) There was too much smoke smell in the balcony. Management needs to strictly implement the policy (unless they allow smoking in the balcony).

Every staff member we encountered was wonderful. Our room was available when we checked in at 10:30 AM. No early check-in fee like other hotels have started charging. This is an older, no frills property but it was clean, comfortable and economical.

Amazing days in Virginia Beach 🌊☀️ We stayed at Océano Resort with my family and had a great time. Perfect location right by the ocean and latino festival, very comfortable. A special shoutout to Mr. Brian at the front desk – super friendly and helpful! 👏.

We came from kentucky, arrived early, but they let us check in sooner! That was very much appreciated

Customer service was wonderful we stayed an extra night Ms Christina at front desk had the best personality we will definitely go again❤️and stay there again it was very convenient walking from hotel to dinner and shopping

The staff at the front desk was wonderful. A storm was on the way and they gave us an early checkin, so that we could get settled in before the storm arrived. It meant a lot They were really friendly and so helpful. We enjoyed the hotel and will definitely stay there there again the next time we’re in town!

Overall the Ocean Resort is a nice place to stay. It is right by the boardwalk and beach. The staff were nice. They had fresh squeezed orange juice in the lobby which was a plus! We had a couple of issues with smelling marijuana in the hotel, sometimes in our room, but mostly in the hallway. We reported it. Also, someone from maintenance knocked on our door a couple of times, then let himself in before we could answer to check the fire alarm. The next day he was back again to supposedly check a crack in the ceiling. He did not speak English. We reported this too because it seemed suspicious. We did not report a crack and it certainly could have waited until we had checked out.

Perfect location right on boardwalk. Friendly staff. Clean and comfortable room with nice view. Would stay again.

Great view of the ocean. This is the 6th year we have stayed during the Neptune festival. It is central licated for the event. Would recommend this site to anyone looking for a good clean, friendly location. Will stay again next year. Loved it!

This hotel is on the boardwalk at 24th street which is really nice. Easy access to the beach it is also near the beach wheelchairs rental. The room was clean. The light fixture in the bathroom was not working. The water pressure in the shower is really low but overall this is a nice place to stay. I would stay on the 3rd or 4th floor as the elevator takes along time to get to the 7th floor!! But it is a nice view!

Older property but good value for a beach front hotel. Beds are comfortable. Dozens of restaurants within walking distance.

Beachfront View = super. Sunrise with homemade breakfast. Missed getting a hotel with free breakfast. I didn't want to work or go out Honesty. Stayed one night. Felt safe w grown family. I think we could have gotten a room near fun we got to see Virginia Beach on our travels. I'd go back. I'd recommend. Dated but good. Simplicity is best everything you could ask for. Oh coffee all day all night too :)

Liked it a lot But since no breakfast included could not find any place in walking ng distance that offered breakfast at 7:30 on Saturday May have stayed a second night if had breakfast

Stayed for a week. No maid service. Only if you asked. No continental breakfast. Hallway smelled like sewer. The refrigerator in our room exploded our cans of soda. Told the desk they offered to change rooms but never followed up. Would not be my choice next time I’m in Virginia Beach.

This hotel has good access to the beach, a small shop in the lobby, open vista from balcony. The front desk was super friendly. Coffee station good. The only minus, the Tub was clogged.

My room was clean enough. Air conditioner needed to be turned on. Safe. On the beach. Airplanes/jets fly directly overhead and you hear the noise, numerous times throughout the day and early evening. Once I got to sleep, either it stopped or it didn’t wake me. I think it stopped. No restaurant on the premises. Bathroom door couldn’t open all the way because it hit the toilet bowl-really weird, but it didn’t bother me much. Refrigerator and freezer worked well. My stay was mid-late September so few out of towners. TV was useless. 8 stations, 3-4 were religious stations and the others had programs older than me. Beds slept well.
