Winckley Stays

This accommodation is located within ten-minute walk from the Preston rail station. There is a famous park nearby. Fancy restaurant 'Aven' was also in the hotel. The staff was kind, and everything there was very clean. It has a bedroom, a living room, a kitchen and two bathrooms enough for two of us. The most fantastic thing was that the speed of wifi was great. I was happy while staying there.

Excellent facilities. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and the entire property was immaculately clean. The kitchenette area was perfectly adequate and well stocked.

Amazing place, would come here again. It’s even better than the pictures which is a first. The rooms are nice and secure. The lodge apartment was very spacious and has all the necessary things you would need in a hotel like an ironing board, iron, kitchen utilities even Netflix on the TV. The rooms were very clean and the self check in and check out service was also amazing. The only thing they could improve on is adding bins in the actual bedrooms and making it more clear where the free parking is. But those are just the most minor changes. I would rate this place a 10/10 and would come back with my family again. Thank you for exceeding my expectations by far the best hotel experience I’ve had.

Beautiful room, we were in the Secret Garden apartment which was a very kind free upgrade from the Bond room we booked. Beautiful copper bath in the main room, nice and romantic. Rally big bathroom and shower with plenty room for 2 people. We will definitely be staying with them in the future and we may also try the lovely Aven restaurant they have on the ground floor. Lovely staff and apartments kitchen pretty well equipped, only thing missing is a small oven or airfryer, one of those would complete the rooms amazingly.

room was very nice but not well enough equipped for self catering - No toaster No table Huge bed which meant no space in the room (comfy bed though!) Towel rail in bathroom didn’t work No window to see out of - frosted glass

This is not a 5 star hotel. It's more of airbnb. Be aware, no A/C in rooms. Only noisy fan. It was terrible stay. Room is hot during the day and you can't leave windows open for flies are insects.

The instructions for the self service access are really clear and whilst we did have an issue with the code for the lockbox with the key room, we called and the concierge on the phone helped us instantly. The apartment itself was superb. We stayed in the 2 bedroom one called The Lodge. Both bedrooms were very large, with excellent ensuite bathrooms. Rainfall showers, really good quality towels and White Company toiletries added a bit of luxury. The beds are huge and very comfortable. And good quality fans in each room which were helpful on a hot evening. The lounge area was a nice size, not big but good enough for a couple of people with a comfy sofa and a good tv in the wall. The small kitchen area just off the lounge was well set up, small fridge, cooker and plenty of cutlery and crockery. Everything you could need. Nice touches like tea, coffee, biscuits, bottled water in the fridge and even a jar of sweets were great. Decor is very smart, one or two little dings but overall it looks and feels great quality. The apartments are in the smarters part of Preston - just off a pretty square and a beautiful park across the road. The apartments share the building with a fantastic fine dining restaurant, Aven. A must eat place for Michelin star standard food. The restaurant will also make and serve you drinks in the evening in a small seated area. Also a great little coffee 'hatch' across the road for breakfast as they do amazing donuts too! 5* stay!

What a fab apartment! we stayed in The ‘Lodge’ which was so spacious, clean and had very comfortable beds. We managed to get parked in the onsite parking so that was stress free, 5-10 min walk to the centre of Preston, friendly staff. Would definitely return!

As a self service site, its a bit "odd" initially but the communication pre arrival was clear and easy to follow. Lovely location, very near main high street and the station (10 mins walk radius). Accommodation is spacious, modern, well appointed and comfortable. Only slight negatives are WIFI is pretty slow and although the nature of the hotel is very quiet, any corridor noise is very audible. Good shower and water pressure.

My expectations were high for the way it was described. Sorry Winckley Stays but Unfortunately underneath the bed had crisps and plastic wrapping not been cleaned fully even though the bed is on legs. The carpets are very tired and lots of spot marks also very wrinkled, the carpet had ripples like it hadn’t been stretched and fitted correctly. The bed was comfy but unfortunately the bedding is PolyCotton not luxurious. I had to fix the blackout blind which couldn’t be opened because the chain break was catching in the roller. The smallest toiletries In The world only enough for one person one shower not adequate for 2 Adults sharing the room. The Kitchenette had no fire protection even though there is a double induction hob and toaster to use. No fire exit information of what to do in case of a fire. Other than this a fairly peaceful sleep.

We have stayed in Winckley Square before but not with Winckley Stays. From the start it was disappointing. We had to walk through the dining room of a restaurant, which is not run by the hotel, to get to our room. We encountered several employees of the restaurant during our stay and they were not friendly or accomodating. We asked for a small amount of ice and were told they weren't part of the hotel so, no. Our room needed attention. The carpet needed to be restretched and deep cleaned. The picture on the wall was broken and the frame had packing tape to hold the corner together which had let go. The base of the bed was fabric which had stains on it. The toilet set was not on tight and during our stay the shower drain backed up and flooded the bathroom. I brought these things to the attention of the hotel and lwt them know we would be out for the day. The picture was fixed as well as the drain and toilet with some Lindt chocolate laft on the table. The room was incredibly small and barely enough room between the shower and wall for the toilet. We wouldn't recommend or stay here again.

My first time in this kind of accomodation. Very easy to access, clean, pleasant, close to town centre. I'd sray here agsin.

My first time at Winckley and it was amazing. I dont think i will stay anywhere else when staying in Preston. The rooms are immaculate and very lovely. Great beds and amenities. Staff were incredible as i was staying in another room the second night with friends who made another booking. The hotel offered to bring my bags into the room for me, and also gave me a free upgrade to move me closer to the second room. Mia was very helpful with all of this, and made the trip so easy.

The hotel was a pleasant enough stay. The cleaning could have been a bit better noticed cobwebs on the Ceiling cutlery wasn't clean also not enough hand sanitizer or washing up liquid. The room needs air con as even though a desk fan was provided the room was stil warm and on a really hot day would of been unbearable. The staff were nice .

Very comfortable clean and affordable. We will be definitely staying again .

Lovely clean room, well presented and with good facilities. Self check in was easy, and the housekeeping was excellent every day. Will use again if in the area.

Room was nice. Only complaint was that the windows need some modesty frosting in the lower panes.

The room was nice, but the bathroom was very cramped. Also, the room is on 2nd floor with very narrow steps, so carrying luggage is not easy. Finally, the window oversees office building and the curtains to the window don't close fully, so privacy is compromised.

Property was very good, nice and clean. And great information from the host, easy access to the room. Would recommend but also point out that the room was not very well soundproofed and noise from outside and downstairs was easily heard.

Spacious and current. Beds were comfortable. Great shower. Everything we needed. Convenient check-in with good info from staff/host.

We stayed in the den. Such a cute and well designed room. The stairs are a little steep going up to it as it’s in the loft but such a stunning room. Looks new renovated and such a Lovley and clean room. The little touches Make it such a pleasant stay. Lovely shower and bath and the facilities are well thought out .

Great location, great room, cleaned daily, would stay again. Only complaint is room was too hot and supplied fan did not work too well. I am however used to air conditioning so for others who live in the UK this may not be a huge issue. The Chic room was super nice - pnly downside is the windows are in the bathroom which is closed off - so in the room you have no window - I didnt care but some might. Also limited fresh air options to cool down the room.

We did not get enough information when checking in about key fob opening door had to call late in the eve for assistance getting in .

Great location. Lovely self contained rooms with everything you might need for a stay in Preston. The host had a 24 hour call service and were super helpful. Would recommend to others amd eould stay here again.

Just a one night stay for a work trip, staying in the 'Rose Room'. Received a text message with really easy to follow instructions for a no-contact check in, including directions inside to find the room, with an electric keypad on the outer door and a little keybox next to the room. The place is just a short walk from the station and near a big park (which was ideal for a morning stroll around the japanese themed garden before breakfast and meetings). It is also close enough to the city centre to be super convenient, while being separated enough to feel calmer and quiter in the evening (personally much preferred this location to where my colleague was staying in the partner hotel No.10 within the nightime chaos, though other people might prefer the convenience of being right next to the bars etc - depends what your trip is for I guess!). I didn't make much use of the kitchen but it looked clean and had all the necessary basics, along with some complementary teas/coffees and sweets. The room had a lovely shower and very comfortable bed, and I got a great night of sleep. Appreciated the decor not being too over the top with the rose theme too. The wifi, though free, seemed to require creating some sort of account to access so I didn't try it and can't comment on speeds. Contactless check out was very simple. Overall, it was a really comfortable stay - if I end up having to visit Preston again then I'll probably plan to stay here again.

Very beautiful accommodation, clean and very spacious. Very convenient location. We were not impressed with the staff manager who decided to just open the door without knocking and proceeded to make conversation despite my girlfriend and I being indecent. She insisted that she did knock but thought we had not heard due to her claims that the TV was too loud from watching a series on Netflix at 4pm in the afternoon. She then decided to just push the door open as she also claims it had not been properly shut. It is a fact that the entire premises are fitted with fire doors, therefore the door shuts by itself. She also lied that she had apologized for the imposition and claimed to have poor vision so she could not see that we were in our under garments. It got to a point where we had an exchange in the corridors because she simply refused to acknowledge her violation against us. That ruined an otherwise perfect weekend celebrating my girlfriends birthday.

We had a lovely stay, only one night, but the room was very comfortable, clean and warm. In a peaceful situation, just 5 minute's walk from the centre of Preston.

Apartment was excellent and within easy walking distance to the city centre.

Stay was lovely apart from the very loud kitchen staff i heard this is a separate business but there was no repect for guests stayed there as was there early in the morning been very loud

Wonderful room but food at Aven restaurant downstairs was sublime! A real hidden gem that deserves many more plaudits!! I will be going back!!
