What a nice weekend away in the Catskills. Brendan the host was incredibly warm and welcoming. The bed in our room was very comfortable, furnishings were thoughtfully placed and the house was beautiful. Absolutely loved the front porch and the shower in our room. Can’t wait to stay again. So affordable as well.

Great well appointed property. Front porch is amazing as are the bedrooms with awesome bathrooms. Definitely not your run of the mill chain hotel.

Had a wonderful stay Fri-Sun in the Emory room. So convenient for ski days out at Belleayre Mountain, private, and comfortable. Shadowcrest had everything we needed and wanted. A beautifully, well preserved space that feels like home, clean bedsheets/bathroom/etc, warm water with great water pressure, chairs/ottomans/luggage rack to keep all our belongings off the floor, electric kettle, microwave, mini fridge, beautifully decorated common spaces to relax, and a dining room where you could grab a bite and cup of coffee for breakfast before an early morning on the slopes. Max and Brendan were so kind and helpful throughout booking, check in, and check out. Couldn't have asked for more and we're looking forward to our next stay!

I would give Shadowcrest ten stars if I could! An absolutely beautiful home in the Catskills. The attention to detail in this guest house is amazing. Everywhere I looked was something delightful. I could lounge on the porch for hours. The bed and the pillows were comfortable, but the shower was to die for. Brendan was charming and engaging to talk to. And my dog was welcome. I can not say enough good things about this place. We will definitely be back!

Stayed overnight for July 4th weekend. It's a beautiful house, beautifully restored and well maintained. Brendan, the owner, was downright pleasant and very concerned about ensuring everything went perfectly. Nice to have air conditioning during the heat. Convenient parking in the lot across the street.

Shadowcrest is a gorgeous 124-year old home and it is a wonder! Brendan made us feel right at home. My hubby and I had the Turquiose Room. It has a queen-sized bed which is SO comfortable. The bathroom is completely renovated with a heated floor, rainfall showerhead, a handheld shower and a stand-alone glass sink. Excellent amenities for your bathing pleasure. The room had a very mini fridge and microwave, a water heater for tea, plenty of mugs and glasses, bottled water, and other goodies. A nice sized TV is mounted on the wall. Parking is available in the lot across the street for free. Plenty of places to eat and things to do. Breakfast is served in the morning. We only stayed one night but will be back again. Thank you, Brendan!

Shadowcrest is a beautiful Victorian house with so much charm. The rooms are lovely, each unique, with comfortable beds, and there is great common space, including the huge wraparound porch. Brendan is a wonderful host. I really appreciated his friendliness and helpfulness. I don't know when I'll get back to Fleischmanns, but if I do, I'll certainly go back to Shadowcrest and I've definitely recommended it to anyone I know who may want to visit the Catskills.

Incredible house, very vintage and cozy; the porch in the front of the house is out of this world on a rainy night - you can see literally all of the stars! The room was very nice, the shower, the bed was quite comfortable. The best part of it all was our host; he was extremely helpful, friendly and down to earth. My wife and I loved the area and the gourmet markets and organic food we ate literally everywhere; everything is fresh from the local farms. We even found (through our host) a local Buddha temple/monastery that we actually went in and visited, the people were very very welcoming. Highly recommend a stay here. I give our host 11 Starz, SOLID.

Great place to have access to a lot of hiking and exploring options around. Beautiful front porch to hang out on, cute room and updated bathroom. Host was very nice and helpful with good recommendations for dining etc. Easy check in and check out process with a giant free parking lot across the street. Will be coming back :D

I can’t recommend this charming inn enough. Beautiful, clean, comfortable, peaceful and the staff is so friendly and welcoming. The day after I left I booked my next stay. I can’t wait to go back. You must stay here if you are in the area.

I was a late, almost 10pm check in but was met and warmly welcomed by Brendon (?) at the door. He gave me a brief history of the house and when he purchased / renovated it. He takes a lot of pride in his work as he should because the place is gorgeous, clean, comfortable, and very welcoming. My room was simple, clean, charming, and had a very nice, modern bathroom. My room was cozy and comfortable. The bed in my room has to be the most comfortable in all the Catskills. I look forward to staying here again.

We had a quick stopover in the Catskill region and needed a place to sleep. Shadowcrest fullfilled our needs and more . Our room was so comfortable, our bathroom brand new and the hosts are so friendly . We walked down the street for a delicious dinner and some drinks and if we weren't so tired could have sat on the beautiful porch watching the moon rise .
We had a quick stopover in the Catskill region and needed a place to sleep. Shadowcrest fullfilled our needs and more . Our room was so comfortable, our bathroom brand new and the hosts are so friendly . We walked down the street for a delicious dinner and some drinks and if we weren't so tired could have sat on the beautiful porch watching the moon rise .

Brendan was a fantastic host. He explained the surrounding location and good restaurants to check out and was an honest and super nice guy. 10/10 would recommend, we will be heading back there to star again for sure.

Overall, it was a fantastic experience and I couldn’t thank Brandon enough for how welcoming and kind he was. I would definitely recommend staying here if you are visiting this area. I will definitely be coming back during my next visit!

Really enjoyed my stay here at shadowcrest! Brendan was super communicative and responsive which definitely was helpful. The house was very cozy walking in to and so was the room. It was filled with amenities and the dining room and its snacks was definitely a nice perk! Would stay again next time when in the area!!

Absolutely stunning house and as many others have said, Brendan could not be more gracious and responsive. This is my second time staying at Shadowcrest and I plan to return often. Shadowcrest will win your heart!!!

Would recommend and definitely stay again!

Beautiful place to stay!! Got two rooms for our family for a ski trip to Bellearye. Brenden was so warm and responsive to all of our needs. The decor in the rooms far exceeded my expectations! The beds were so comfortable and while freezing outside, we were warm and cozy. The location is perfect. I would return in the warmer weather for hiking. Gorgeous house with the best hosts!

Had a wonderful stay Fri-Sun in the Emory room. So convenient for ski days out at Belleayre Mountain, private, and comfortable. Shadowcrest had everything we needed and wanted. A beautifully, well preserved space that feels like home, clean bedsheets/bathroom/etc, warm water with great water pressure, chairs/ottomans/luggage rack to keep all our belongings off the floor, electric kettle, microwave, mini fridge, beautifully decorated common spaces to relax, and a dining room where you could grab a bite and cup of coffee for breakfast before an early morning on the slopes. Max and Brendan were so kind and helpful throughout booking, check in, and check out. Couldn't have asked for more and we're looking forward to our next stay!

This is the pefect place just outside of other bigger towns in the Catskills. So much charm in this bnb from its huge covered front porch to the antique style. Bed was super comfortable and host was very helpful and inviting. Definitely will be back!

The property is unique, victorian stile very well kept. Brendan, the host, is very nice and helpful. The bed was amazing, we had one of the best night sleep of our lives. Just be careful because the closest restaurants can be closed in certain days of the week.

Great place to have access to a lot of hiking and exploring options around. Beautiful front porch to hang out on, cute room and updated bathroom. Host was very nice and helpful with good recommendations for dining etc. Easy check in and check out process with a giant free parking lot across the street. Will be coming back :D

The building and furnishings were very tasteful and comfortable. I loved the antique feel and those lamps!!!! Host was just lovely and friendly. Breakfast was abundant. And the drive there was stimulating to say the least. Cute little street.

Brandon, the owner of the bnb, was extremely helpful in giving us a full tour of the historic property. He was very welcoming! Brandon knew the area very well and provided some great tips on where to eat, hikes. The house itself was beautiful and full of charm. There is a lovely porch to have coffee and a light continental breakfast in the morning. The Turquoise Room was comfortable and had a great waterfall shower. We will be back!

This is a little gem and I stayed there to be close to Belleayre for skiing. The rooms are extremely well-appointed and Brendon was a very gracious host. It's also an excellent value. No breakfast available, which is not a big deal. However, most of the restaurants open at 8am so would be nice if there were just a simple DIY coffee cart downstairs with drip coffee! (hint hint!). I'm also looking forward to the next stay there with my family.

Great experience; well-equipped and beautifully decked room. Some of the pieces were so unique and well-chosen. Bathroom was great too. Brandon was nice enough to provide us with suggestions for places to visit nearby. Breakfast options can be expanded but we didn’t mind that. Would definitely recommend.

The property was overall good. Bed was very comfortable and the room was very nice. Bathroom was solid too. Partner an I enjoyed the room very much. What I didn't understand is the breakfast? It said breakfast included. One morning breakfast was a half eaten box of Entenmann's cinnamon rolls and uncooked slow cook oats and a box of cookies clearly from the store next door.. There wasn't anything like fruit or toast etc. No milk or regular or alternative in the mini fridge for coffee. Glass containers on table were empty. No water to boil the oats? Thinking maybe someone forgot to arrange the breakfast and an honest mistake we shrugged it off. Next morning same thing but with another half eaten box of cinnamon rolls stacked on the one from the day before. Kitchen roped off so no way to get milk or water. Mini fridge empty again. If guests are being charged for breakfast then provide breakfast. If they are being charged just for a room and no breakfast then bring the price down. This "breakfast" area seemed like a loop hole to be listed as a Bn'B when it's really just a B. Also, I had to kill 4 fly's in the room in the middle of winter which is concerning...It's upstate and all, but middle of winter was odd.

Brendan shared some of the best spots in town for food, groceries, beer, cheese etc . We ended up at The Print House for a drink and then dinner, food and atmosphere was perfect.

This is a nice inn very close to Belleayre Ski Resort. The room was clean and nicely renovated, and the bed was comfortable. My only complaint was the included "breakfast," which consisted of some granola bars and Entenman's donuts/danish. We were there to ski and like to stay at a place that has breakfast so that we can get out early and go straight to the slopes. I think it is somewhat deceptive advertising to call this a breakfast.

Room appeared to have been untouched in sometime and could have used a cleaning. Rest of the house did not feel inviting or welcoming. While I can acknowledge recent renovations everything was still in disarray weeks after the renovations and it just didn’t feel like a vacation away. Breakfast options were not much and it was very cold in the dining room - not really any enjoyable meal. The pictures and prior reviews I did feel were somewhat misleading. The host was courteous but I would not return again.
