Comfort Inn & Suites Cedar Rapids CID Eastern Iowa Airport

We were in a suite on the third floor. There was a rag on the floor in the living room for a drip from the ceiling. Housecleaning only made it around to our room around 2-3 each day. Our key cards would unprogram every day and we'd have to go get them reprogramed at the front desk. The hot tub was broken and honestly gross. The staff working the front desk were pleasant, but couldn't seem to figure out that we were staying there for five days and needed our key cards programed for that long.

Great hotel close to airport. Very convenient 24/7 airport shuttle, especially for very early morning flights! Great service, comfortable, clean and would stay again!

The hot tub and pool area had so much chlorine in it your eyes burned just sitting in the room. The breakfast wasn't great. The eggs were way too salty and the waffles had flavored batter instead of plain. The staff was friendly and helpful.

The woman who checked us in was very friendly, and we had a nice comfortable sleep. Cookies were appreciated and the cheesy eggs at breakfast were tasty. However, when we were leaving this morning, the elevator didn't appear to be working. We pressed the button and waited quite awhile before taking the stairs. Even though our luggage was heavy and cumbersome, and we are in our 70s, we were able to do this, but when I informed the woman at the front desk, she simply said "It's been like that since last night." When I suggested maybe she should be up a sign, she dismissed me with "People figure it out." When I responded with "Yes, but we waited quite awhile first," she answered "But you DID figure it out." I let it go, but really, a "I'm sorry. We're working on it," would have been a more appropriate response.

We chose this hotel because we wanted a clean and safe place with free shuttle service near the CID airport. The room was fine except that the bathroom needs towel racks and hooks. The breakfast was basic but fine. I recommend this hotel.

We parked our car at 3 am, took the Comfort Inn Shuttle to the airport and returned a week later at midnight. At both ends of our trip we had excellent service by young women who did it all: answered the phone, scheduled stays, gave service, then drove to the airport and back, only to continue this all night before making breakfast in the morning. Amazing!!

This hotel is the only facility in the area that offers 24 hour free shuttle service to the airport. Rooms are clean and quiet for early morning flights.

Dirty bathroom

Look elsewhere. This was an absolutely disgusting hotel. Stains everywhere. Curtains, hallway carpet, couch, chairs all had something on them. Giant red stain in the hallway carpet. The desk chair was greasy. The blue couch in both rooms had stains on them. The curtains in both rooms had something on them, one had something red when there's no red paint anywhere in the room. AC filters were not clean. The complimentary soap containers were greasy. We took wet wipes to the place. There were several trucks outside. The swimming pool lights were off and when we entered it, some lady in the hot tub acted as if she was caught in the act of doing something inappropriate. She turned towards us and froze waiting to see what we were going to do. We turned the light back off and left. Check in took longer than expected as the lady kept going back and forth between each computer. Someone else's name was on the screen that I was supposed to sign. If it wasn't so late and if I didn't have family with me, I'd have slept in my car. This was a gross hotel. For reserving two suites, it certainly wasn't what I expected the stay to be like. As I said at the beginning, look elsewhere.

Hotel was convenient as we were in town for a funeral. Check in was easy and all staff were friendly and helpful and the price was good. The room was comfortable but there was mold in the shower grout. The breakfast was fine for us but all of the seating benches are cracked and worn. We will most likely stay there again when we are in the area visiting family

Affordable rates and friendly service. Breakfast was on time, lots of food options. There’s a pool and fitness center. Parking is free and plentiful. Check in was quick and the staff was friendly and gave coupons for local dining options. The common areas have layers of dust and dirt. Our bathroom had garbage on the floor and dust around the toilet and beneath the sink. Housekeeping only replaced towels. Beds were not made, toilet paper wasn’t replaced, toilet not cleaned. The hallways also were not vacuumed.

Great pool, everything was great, good breakfast. Until I woke up had three bites on my ankle took the covers away one bed bug. Room 219, when I was checking out I was going to tell somebody stood there five minutes nobody around.

The room was very dirty when we arrived - the bath tub was filthy and the sofa bed needed to be cleaned. We did not get sheets for the sofa bed. The pool area was covered in dirty towels and the hot tub was dirty. The staff was helpful but it was a bit too late since it was after 8 pm that we arrived. I had small children who needed to go to bed. We were extremely unhappy since we had stayed there before and it was a good experience the first time.

Staff was nice, location to airport was great, we just had a lot of bugs and big cobwebs in the window and on AC unit. Room had a smell too.

Swiss cheese has better sound proofing than these walls. You could here a dog shake its collar through the wall. The elevator is very slow, the hotel is dirty around the edges of rooms

Could not get the hotel wifi on my laptop, and the night clerk was not able to help. Lighting was too low - need to increase the lumens level of lamps, especially over the couch. The room AC was set at 67 degrees when we checked in, which was uncomfortably cold, and a waste of energy. The desk chair was placed on the border between carpeting and linoleum, which made it difficult to move. The room itself was well-cleaned and in good condition.

Internet is absolutely awful. Signs up saying no housekeeping. The internet alone will prevent me from staying again.

A nice place to stay. Our room was huge and the staff was really nice. Only complaint was there was a chip wrapper in our pull out sofa and the bed sheets on one of the other beds kept ok’ing off. Overall, would stay there again!

Front desk staff awesome, shuttle service is great, 24 hour. Only drawback was thin walls, noise in hallway.

The beds were hard and when I went to tell them, they gave me another room, but they said the beds are all the same probably won’t go there again

Our room was clean and the sheets were great, but the bed was so very hard. At 2:00 AM, I went to the front desk to inquire if we were just missing a mattress topper. I was shown that all the beds are the same. We didn't sleep well at all.

There was a nice big easy chair, but no light to read by. Beds were comfortable. Front desk people were very friendly and helpful.

We have stayed at this property several times a year. We always found the staff to be pleasant. The reason we chose this property over others is that we could leave our car there for free and take the shuttle to and from the airport. In fact we just did that again this past February. I always confirm that we can leave our vehicle for free and it has never been a problem. This time was different, we were told that we would be charged for leaving the vehicle there. Also, we rented two rooms and in one the TV did not work. The occupant of that room went to the desk to tell them it didn't work. He was told they couldn't help him and he needed to call from his room for assistance. He did that and it still did not work. He went back to the desk and was told to try again. He did and thru the call could still not get it to work. He went back to the desk and this time a tech was sent to his room and got it working. My husband and I were in the common area and the staff person came to me and said that if the person in the room with the non working TV came down one more time she was going to kick him out. The tech who came to the room got the TV to work and was very pleasant. Based on this experience we will have a difficult time staying here again. In the past I have told family and friends about the great shuttle service and free parking. We were extremely disappointed.

We arrived late at midnight and staff was great at picking us up at airport and checking us in.

Got in late due to flight delays. Probably 1115. No one was at the front desk. Waited probably 15 minutes. Rang the bell called the front desk line. No answer. Called a couple area hotels to see if they had rooms in one of them said that at night this hotel is only staffed by one personand that the person was probably on an airport run. And that the person was probably on an airport run. Which was true. Staff arrived and got checked in. The Mourning manager apologized and said there was a sign that the person was supposed to put up, but didn’t.

The young woman at the front desk was trying to check a long line of customers in, drive the shuttle without any additional staff. Unacceptable scheduling by management leaving 1 staff member alone without any back up help.

Everything was great! All but except breakfast lady. She just was not nice to people. She remined me of the Jerry Seinfeld's German guy from World War II No More Soup For You!!" (they won't let me say his name on here, even though he put out a brand of soup with that as his trade- mark name from the show in that sold in grocery stores and it was really good soup ) LOL. The breakfast lady turned off the lights right at 9:00 am when an elderly lady wandered in and wanted another muffin for her and her husband at 9:02 she told the old lady "Breakfast is closed!" and that she would have to come back at 6:00 am tomorrow when breakfast was open again. :-( No more muffins for you! The elderly did eventually get her muffin in the end with the help of the manager lady (our hero and nice lady), much to the surging of the breakfast lady (sour puss) :-)

After checking my cc account, I noticed they more than doubled charged me. Two weeks later, I am still waiting for my refund.

Facility looks as though it was recently renovated. Rooms were clean, bathroom was relatively clean however the shower curtain was dirty and no bodywash was available for use. On day 2 of our 3 night stay we had an employee badge into our room slowly. It was so odd and disturbing. Our do not disturb sign was on the outside of our door however our safety latch was not engaged so he peaked his head and I said "We are in here" then he apologized. This was about 930 in the morning. I felt uncomfortable with this and told the front desk. The gentleman apologized, and said he would take care of it. By his non-verbal actions this wasn't the first time he has had this complaint. My other issue is the lady taking care of the breakfast area told my child that he had enough on his plate and to leave some for other people. He had 2 biscuits.It took everything out of me not to confront her during that moment. If they cant make enough food for the guests then that is the facilities issue, not the paying guest!!!

I arrived at 5pm for check in and I was unable to check in until 7pm. The staff member, Peter, told all of us in line that he was new and unable to get us into our rooms if we had a “virtual reservation”. He said that he was calling managers and staff members, but I never saw any of those efforts. He left at one point for 30 minutes to get pizza and wine per the request of one of the customers leaving the desk unattended and everyone else waiting. My spouse called customer service to try and get Peter help to get us checked in. The night shift staff was supposed to arrive at 6pm, but Evette didn’t arrive until 6:40p. It was a very disappointing and unprofessional stay.

We like the convenience of staying close to the airport and it being a short drive to Cornell. The staff is friendly and the rooms are clean. We will back.

The staff was incredibly kind and super helpful. The people at the front desk were willing to drive me to the airport, thank you! The room was clean and comfortable. The location was 5 min. from the airport and very close to the highway.

We had a nice stay. Clean room with comfortable beds. Nice hot breakfast was great too.

Very nice and clean. Shower was amazing. The breakfast was amazing also. Homemade sausage gravy scrambled eggs etc. The price was great too. Less than $150 on a Friday night that I only booked 2 days before!!!!

Went down for breakfast and there were knats crawling around the fruit and in the bread. I was with friends and I picked the hotel. One of us tried the waffles and the batter was sour. It has obviously gone bad. I was so disgusted by the knats crawling in the bread box and in the bread I couldn't eat anything.

Let me tell you this the tv to our room never worked, the guy came to help, but never did call back like he said. The breakfast was absolutely terrible. No juice, couldn’t keep up. In our room we had dirty trash and nasty items left in the night stand, from previous guest. The beds were semi ok. Kids running up and down the halls past midnight. Nothing was done. Need more parking. So dumb as big as a hotel. I wasn’t happy with my stay….

I'm the property was nice, room was nice, pool was nice, but the breakfast was not ideal. Everything empty and the lady was watching tv sitting on a couch.

Coffee maker in room was broken. The water to the tub took forever to get hot and the breakfast time was not long enough so we missed it. Most people want to sleep in and for the breakfast to be over by 9am was not convenient.

All good, except clock was on military time. Not a fan of that, and remote for tv was missing the back. Also breakfast only till 9am, so wasnt able to get any food. Should be open until 10!

Check in was quick and easy. Staff was friendly. The room was very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. So many choices. I would definitely stay at Comfort Inn and Suites again.
