El Sol Monteverde

Fabulous cabins with wonderful views in an idyllic setting. Staff couldn't be more helpful and welcoming. We had 3 cabins and all ate at the Magic Sunny (jacuzzi on balcony) for breakfast together, and 1 night in, which was excellent. The views and sunsets were stunning. Monteverde is approx 20 mins drive for which taxis are available at night.

The hotel was great. Hotels.com however was a nightmare. Fun fact, book your hotels via the hotel’s direct website. Hotels.com and its subsidiaries (Expedia, Travelocity, etc.) take almost 80% of the profit of small local hotels. The hotel itself is fantastic and easy to work with, the conglomerate of hotels.com is not. You’re welcome

This place is a must stay. Owner and staff are top notch and accommodations are not to be missed, plus great location for everything Monteverde. Our top stay in all of CR.

A magically unique boutique hotel, actually individual cabins. Everything you could possibly want in a private, romantic and wonderful stay, in an incredibly beautiful location. This property is in the high mountains of Costa Rica, filled with wildlife everywhere you look and listen. If you are looking for a hospital sterile resort, this, or the whole town, is not for you. If you are looking for a unique and romantic experience, among the trees, sunsets, and unbelievable wildlife, there is no better experience or place to be. Roads getting to this paradise in the sky are generally good but as anywhere in Costa Rica, off the National highways can have crater-like potholes, but just part of the beauty and the charm of Costa Rica. This place is magnificent.
