Not enough parking on-site when we arrived. Could consider having the restaurant open later as a lot of people appeared to arrive after it finished dinner service like us. Fortunately we found another option nearby on the way into town.

Hôtel magnifique superbement intégré dans le paysage avec vue magnifique sur le lac Mývatn et les environs. Architecture minimaliste et style épuré scandinave très réussi. Chambre de grandeur adéquate et très fonctionnelle. Petit déjeuner buffet très bien garni. Sauna avec vue mais sans les bains chauds ce qui sûrement rehausserait l’expérience. Néanmoins excellent séjour dans cet hôtel que je recommande fortement.

This is such a beautiful hotel perched high on the hills with a fantastic view of Mývatn lake below. The hotel is exquisite and luxurious. The rooms were comfy and spacious. There is a restaurant and good selections for a paid breakfast. It's close to the attractions. Get there early as parking is limited.

Beautiful hotel, completely spotless everywhere, restaurant served delicious dinner and breakfast and the bar had a great variety. Staff were wonderful such warm and friendly service from check in desk through to restaurant and bar. It’s in a great location to explore the geothermal area of Mývatn. Room cosy with super comfy bed and excellent ameneties. Would highly recommend

We were so excited to stay here. The second morning there, we found two LIVE bed bugs in our room - which had already bitten us. Upon check out we brought it to the attention of the staff, they told me “we have traps for those, are you sure” which 1. Indicated to me that they KNEW they have a problem with this and 2. Did not want to do anything about it. For the price - this is fully unacceptable. Sadly our stay was ended with extreme anxiety about our belongings being infested and bites - along with no accommodation for the issue and full disregard of the need to mediate it. Definitely DO NOT STAY in room 301.

A third-rate property at best with an overpriced restaurant with poor service. At least it was quiet. Hair from a previous guest was left in the bath and a light fixture fell apart while using the sink. Staff are poorly trained in terms of customer service.

Clean, modern, comfortable hotel. My only complaint is that our room was so hot that it felt almost like a sauna and took a while to cool it down with open window. Everything else was top notch! Excellent staff. I was checked in by Julie ( I believe) and she was very helpful. Breakfast was great with perfect variety of items and beautiful view. Our room was comfortable with gorgeous view of Lake Myvatn and a crater. This hotel is located not directly in town, so you will need a vehicle to get places. Sauna was perfect with a balcony you can cool down on. Wish we could stay for more than one night!

Fosshotel Myvatn was just as promised! Modern, clean, spacious and relaxing. We only spent one evening there but loved it. The beds were comfy, and rooms have everything you could need. We chose to have breakfast at the hotel which was an additional cost to our room, but honestly there are not many options nearby so we decided it was easiest. Delicious dinner at Gamli Baerinn just down the road! And totally enjoyed our soak at Myvatn Nature Baths.

Very crowded at check in. Got to room and it was over 90 degrees in room. Tiny window with no air flow and no air conditioning. Small fan in room circulated the hot air. Asked for a different room, a second fan, or an extension cord to put fan in window - was told “no”. Unusually warm in Iceland (72 degrees F) was explanation. Also safe and one light didn’t work, but that was the least of our problems. This was most expensive hotel of our ten day Iceland adventure ($460USD) and worst night sleep, simply laying on top of bed uncovered without sheets. Miserable. Got up early and left

We had a room with a view, along with wonderful experiences with the very helpful staff. One example was Kamil who offered useful suggestions for local travel and provided great insights into the food and local traditions.

Clean, modern, comfortable hotel. My only complaint is that our room was so hot that it felt almost like a sauna and took a while to cool it down with open window. Everything else was top notch! Excellent staff. I was checked in by Julie ( I believe) and she was very helpful. Breakfast was great with perfect variety of items and beautiful view. Our room was comfortable with gorgeous view of Lake Myvatn and a crater. This hotel is located not directly in town, so you will need a vehicle to get places. Sauna was perfect with a balcony you can cool down on. Wish we could stay for more than one night!

Fosshotel Mývatn is a gem in North Iceland! This was my second time staying here, and once again, it exceeded expectations. The rooms are modern, cozy, and offer incredible views of Lake Mývatn. The staff was warm and helpful, and the on-site restaurant served some of the best meals I had on the trip. It's the perfect base for exploring the surrounding natural wonders, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone staying in the area!

This is such a beautiful hotel perched high on the hills with a fantastic view of Mývatn lake below. The hotel is exquisite and luxurious. The rooms were comfy and spacious. There is a restaurant and good selections for a paid breakfast. It's close to the attractions. Get there early as parking is limited.

Our room was modern, spotless, and very comfortable—and the large window was the best part: we were able to see the Northern Lights from our room without even going outside, which was unforgettable. Hotel is clean and convenient. Breakfast needs to be improved. I had breakfast at 8am and all the croissants are gone. My husband told me he had croissant when he had breakfast at 7:30am. I asked waitress for it and she said “no more”. I just can’t believe to hear that in such a nice hotel. Breakfast is served from 7am to 10am and all the croissants are gone at 8am! I was wondering why they couldn’t order more especially in summer high season. Besides, not many choices for breakfast. A little bit disappointed from such nice hotel!

Excelente servicio. Nos despertaron para ver la auroras boreales a la 1am (nosotros lo pedimos). Muy buen restaurante, productos frescos y buen emplatado. Los alrededores con el lago Myvatn geniales. El spa solo tiene sauna pero es buen servicio. Wifi esta bien. La única pega real son los precios de los vinos way too overpriced.

This hotel seems to be a bit unorganized. We had one breakfast there and it was a disaster. There was not enough dishes, guests were cutting loaf of bread with bare hands, eggs were dry, there is no freshly cooked food in the breakfast buffet. It’s definitely of substandard compared to the Fosshotel at glacier lagoon. Will not recommend.

Great place and location! The hotel has a great restaurant and bar with phenomenal food. Our hotel room was spacious, clean, and also had A/C! Staff was very helpful and accommodating. Would stay here again if ever in Myvatn.
