Great British produce, locally sourced and expertly cooked. Helpful, friendly team of staff. The building is grade listed but lots of character with traditional looking but modern furniture. No aircon in my room and WiFi was twitchy but comfy, clean with beautiful furniture. Cracking beer garden,large and rustic set next to the local river and walking routes.

A listed building so you will encounter the odd problem concerned with age. The staff were very pleasant throughout: cheerful and attentive. The dining was good and you expected a wait for freshly cooked hot and edible food. At lunchtime I had the best ham sandwich that I have had in years. We were there during the heatwave so the lack of AC and the constant noise from a very busy main road was a small problem but nothing that the owners could do about that. A most enjoyable 2 day stay that I would be more than happy to repeat.

Excellent and easy check in, evening meal was very nice and competitively priced. The Estrella was served at the perfect temperature 👍 the room was lovely and clean and the jelly babies were a fantastic treat 👍 only gripe was I couldn’t regulate the radiator which was on all night - the sash window came to the rescue and a cool breeze was present all night. The gentleman who checked me in and showed me to my room was very polite and courteous. Didn’t have breakfast as I left early but will definitely stay again when in the area

Friendly helpful staff, very nice breakfast, room itself OK but the mattress needs replacing it was so soft when you sat on it it curled up and wasn't very comfortable for sleeping. There is plenty of free parking, sadly didn't have an evening meal but the menu did look good.

Property is 300 years old and is a little quirky. Our room was very nice but we had to go thru the restaurant and bar to access a small and steep stairway to reach our room. The food was excellent and service was great.

We had a very pleasant and comfortable stay. The staff were extremely courteous, friendly and helpful. The building is about 400 years old so it did creek and shake a bit when heavy vehicles went by, but that was mainly during the day, we were not disturbed at all during the night. It was very clean and the breakfast was delicious and they didn't mind adapting to special requests. We would definitely stay there again.

We booked to stay at the Congresbury Arms, so we could go to a local spa the following day for my birthday a few weeks prior and Mothers Day. Wow what a lovely place, the staff were all friendly. The food was amazing and being recently Gluten Free lots of choices on offer. We would definitely book to stay again in the future. The room was spotlessly clean, and complimentary items were a lovely touch. The breakfast in the morning had a wide variety of choice. What a lovely, historic find!

Really great welcome. Lots of little touches to make your stay more special like biscuits, bottled sparkling water and snacks along with quality tea and coffee. Very clean and lovely big, fluffy towels. Breakfast was exceptional. Great choice with excellent service.

A lovely historic building with comfy and clean rooms, helpful and friendly staff, and great food (we are vegetarians and found the food options to be quite unique/interesting and good quality). We were also given a later checkout time due to travel connections, which was hugely appreciated.

We found the room totally unusable and had to leave straight away having only been there for 10 miniutes. The traffic noise was absolutely deplorable right next to a junction on the main road to Bristol/Weston/Churchill. There was no secondary glazing and no hope of any sleep. The staff didn’t seem to know we were booked in at first and could not offer any other room or a refund. We lost a lot of money that night. I would recommend that this place should not be advertising accommodation until they do something about the problem. The staff seemed uninterested.

I loved the rooms and restaurant, staff were lovely. The only reason for the 3 stars is the location. The beautiful old building is right under Bristol airport flight path. From 6am, every 5 minutes, a plane flew overhead. Very early start to my day.

The hotel is situated on a very busy road and traffic noise was heard most of the night to the extent that the building actually shuddered when heavy lorries passed, ask for a room at the back Staff and breakfast very good

Very last minute booking. Only stayed for one night and the room was clean and well appointed. Mattress I would say needs to be replaced and struggled with the wi fi signal. Good breakfast included. Staff friendly and accommodating. Nice open space and river walk close by. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

£113 and breakfast was extra. Not worth it... if this is your budget, pay a little more and go to Cadbury House. Worth no more than £80/night. Rooms are a little tired and being woken up at 6am to a broken alarm was far from ideal! No communication from staff, just other people staying and it took about half an hour to sort! Wouldn't stay again at that price!

Great stay. Greeted and shown to our room on arrival. Room a decent size, shower was powerful and bed comfy. Breakfast (included in room rate when we booked) was choice of cereals and then hot food cooked to order - eggs royale was excellent!

Very last minute booking. Only stayed for one night and the room was clean and well appointed. Mattress I would say needs to be replaced and struggled with the wi fi signal. Good breakfast included. Staff friendly and accommodating. Nice open space and river walk close by. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

Staff very friendly. Most of our food was good. What needs pointing out is the restaurant times for dinner, as we booked for 7pm, and when I rang to say we could be later, due to work commitments, I was told they stopped taking food orders at 7.45. Some updating needed at this hotel, in the rooms, But we would definitely stay again. 😊

We returned following a previous visit because the food was so good and it did not disappoint! We had lunch, dinner and breakfast and it was all delicious. I was very impressed with the choice of gluten free food on offer… I was spoilt for choice which is very unusual. We are already planning to return again.

Friendly quirky pub…all the rooms are different but all have everything you need. Breakfast is excellent and the set menu for dinner was great. Stay here every year on our way to and from Wales.

Really great welcome. Lots of little touches to make your stay more special like biscuits, bottled sparkling water and snacks along with quality tea and coffee. Very clean and lovely big, fluffy towels. Breakfast was exceptional. Great choice with excellent service.

A lovely historic building with comfy and clean rooms, helpful and friendly staff, and great food (we are vegetarians and found the food options to be quite unique/interesting and good quality). We were also given a later checkout time due to travel connections, which was hugely appreciated.

Really loved the hotel and the staff were great. A little disappointed that the restaurant stopped serving at 8 and the pub at 9.45pm - not what we wanted after a long drive!! But the room was perfect! And very convenient for Bristol airport.

Great one night stay. Room was comfortable and well equipped, staff were friendly, efficient and polite. Good food in the restaurant for dinner which was reasonably priced and generous, and breakfast was beautifully presented and plentiful. We’d happily return if in the area again!

Stayed for one night. Room was very spacious and bed very comfy.Towels were also a pleasure very fluffy Dinner in restaurant was lovely plenty choice and well cooked.
