Tyee Restaurant and Motel

We enjoyed the hospitality of the restaurant and bar staff. The food was delicious. We love the convenience of being able to walk across the driveway into the restaurant from your motel room.

If you think it somehow won't be like the pictures, you'd be wrong. Not a horrible place, but there's a lively bar right next door, so...

Older but we happen to like that. There’s a restaurant and bar and a grocery store right across the street.

Great motel to visit! Right in between Coupville and Fort Casey. Staff was kind and helpful. Being pet friendly was a great bonus! The room was clean, and the bedding seamed new. Towels were in great condition. Perfect for a weekend getaway. We will be back.

This was a lovely room. The pictures made it look more aged than it was. Don't let the exterior fool you. This place is a great deal. We only had breakfast at the onsite restaurant, but it was really goid. The bar was very inexpensive, clearly a place licals hang, and only 50 cents a game for pool! I would definitely stay here again.

This was very convenient for us to stay for a few days It is an older motel but we liked the restaurant/bar and has a grocery store across the street. Great location. Rooms are small and they can accept pets. Price is reasonable

This Motel served its purpose for the night on Whidbey Island. This is an old motel, but they’ve done a pretty good job with keeping the rooms clean despite the age of the building. The room was decent size had a fridge and microwave. The room served its purpose for one night on Whidbey Island. This is a old motel, but they’ve done a pretty good job with keeping the rooms clean despite the age of the building. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. It was also inexpensive so I would not have expected it to be more than it was. A safe clean room that was decent size and had a fridge and a microwave. It was pet friendly. The staff was super nice. The best part of the stay was the delicious breakfast in the restaurant connected to the motel. The server was great and the breakfast was better than any breakfast that they would serve at a trendy overpriced breakfast restaurant. It’s awesome that they serve breakfast all day long too because we went on a hike and when we came back we were happy to see they were still serving breakfast after 12. The motel is across the street from a nice grocery market that sold local produce and had a good deli. We we’re on the road and it was nice to be able to grab ice and restock our cooler I would stay here again for one night if I was stopping over.

I was surprised by the cleanliness of my room. it is a very old property but the new owners are doing a great job cleaning it up. More work to be done, but on the right tract. it was quiet and clean.

It was an average motel, clean quite and good location

Service was friendly and the restaurant was great. Room was generally fine, but the sheets had sand in them when we got into bed, so it seems like maybe the sheets weren’t clean?

This is an old-time one-story motel complex that was probably built in the 50’s, with small rooms and paper thin walls that allow in noise from the occasional passing car, mechanical sounds from the compressor at the nearby restaurant and grocery store, early morning trash trucks and any loud noises your neighbor makes. It has been updated with vinyl flooring, throw rugs, and fresh paint, but the amenities are modest.. There is an apartment size refrigerator, a hairdryer and a nice TV, but no coffee machine. If you get up before 8 o’clock, the nearest coffee available is a weak cup across the street at the grocery store since the adjacent restaurant doesn’t open until 8 am. Unfortunately, it also serves weak coffee along with an uninspired but competent diner-style menu. On the plus side, the bed and pillows were super comfortable. The air-conditioning and heating system work well and are not too loud, and the room was clean and comfortable. Essentially, this is an affordable spot from which to tour the island, and if you’re a sound sleeper, it is a great spot from which to enjoy Coupeville.

I recently stayed at the Tyee Restaurant and Hotel in Coupeville, Washington. It was a convenient location for us, as it was close to where we needed to be. However, the mattress in room 3 was very uncomfortable, which was disappointing.

Coffee in room would be nice.

It was a fine stay - exactly as advertised, but as a last minute option that didn’t break the bank, it worked. The twin beds are closer to singles, but clean and decent.

The property was well maintained but water pressure was quite low and sink didnt function properly. Staff was pleasant and welcoming.

Whidbey Island is a pretty expensive place to stay so I picked this cheaper motel for a 3-night visit. I knew it would be basic so am not complaining about that. It had what I needed - bed, shower frig, microwave, wifi - despite being very old and grungy. The problem was that twice there were very large spiders in my room. The first I saw when I woke up and there was no one to contact until 8:00 a.m. When finally reached a guy, he made fun of my concern. Yes, I do have a phobia about spiders, but that is not uncommon and it is a reasonable request to ask motel management to deal with such a problem. He was condescending (which felt very sexist), even making a joke about it, but I didn't call him out for it out of fear he would do nothing. He finally showed up and killed it. The second time was during business hours and I asked the woman at the bar, where all business at the motel is handled. A man having a drink (apparently an employee) kindly offered to deal with it, this time capturing the spider alive and taking it outside. The fact you can't do any business with the motel other than when the related bar and diner are open is a problem itself.

We were surprised and pleased to have a small microwave and “larger than minifridge” sized refrigerator in our room. Enjoyed the delightful staff at checkin.

Older motel but good value for our overnight on the island and close to the Coupeville ferry dock to catch the ferry to Port Townsend.

Perfect for a one night stay prior to running the 8/10/24 half marathon with the start just down the street. It is a motel, not fancy, but met my needs. Except maybe for coffee. None available in the room, but did find Jet Java a short walk away open at 6am.
