Best Western Green Oak Inn & Suites

The hotel was quiet, clean, had a big bathroom, plenty of outlets, and it's just 30 minutes away from San Antonio. There is fast food nearby, some you can even walk too! The breakfast was really good too. They had sausage patties, scrambled eggs, a waffle maker, muffins, cereal, oatmeal, fruit and yogurt. Coffee is available all day. There is coin laundry available, but the dryer didn't dry our clothes in one go and I wasn't going to pay another $2, so had to hang them in the bathroom to finish drying overnight. The pool is outside and tiny.

This is a very clean and quiet hotel. We would definitely use it again. There was only 1 issue we had and 1 change they should make. The one issue with our 4 night stay was our room key each day was deactivated and we always had to go to the front desk for new keys, unknown why their system did not register we were there for a long period of days. The one change, this is the only hotel I have been at that breakfast ends at 9am on the weekend compared to 10am like all the others. Im on vacation and am ready for breakfast by 930 am so we always had to leave to get breakfast.

The TV using Direct TV showed no signal and the man at the front desk had. No idea how to fix. So we had no TV. I reset the control box and got it to work. Most people would have no idea what to do. Everybody I met in this town were nice and pleasant but the guy at the check in desk was monotone and didn’t seem to care we stayed. He did his job and was not rude but not a reflection of the people in town.

Pretty average property. Just fast food around this property. Not good for going for a walk. The bed was pretty uncomfortable. Lighting was poor. Water pressure in shower was great. Someone must have burned popcorn and the whole 3rd floor was smoky. I called the front desk. She said she would check on this but never got back to me.

I visit my family every July and I always stay at Best Western. It is in a great location near restaurants and a grocery store. 2023 was another good stay. My only suggestion would be to get heavier dumbbells in the Fitness Room. They currently only have 30 lb dumbbells.

Called ahead for an early check in at 2. Told that my room was ready. When I got there my room was not ready. All the chips in the snack area are expired. Like beginning of August expired.

Internet was out but they fixed it quickly.

The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful to patrons, knowledgeable and attentive. Even with the fire alarm going off at 1:30 am, staff was apologetic and kind.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Nice, clean property wth a very polite staff.

There were clumps of hair in our shower and in the bed when we arrived in the room. Housekeeping was very kind and changed our sheets but front desk staff seemed like they couldnt be bothered and were dismissive.

Everything about the stay was fine, except I spilled a little water on the bathroom floor and when I wiped it up with a piece of toilet paper, it became obvious that the floor and not been mopped in a while. The piece of toilet paper was very dirty.

Terrible. Clogged shower. Clogged sink. It was disgusting. Carpet needs deep cleaning. Private parts hairs in bedding and in the table! Jesus! Chair in the room was filthy too. It seems that the town use this hotel as a motel

This was a nice hotel, well kept and clean. Check in went fine with no problems. The breakfast was fine and well stocked. The only issue we had was the AC in our room could not keep the room cold, it felt humid in the room at times and the AC tried to keep up. Other than that I would stay here again, it's close to several nice parks and a park near San Antonio that has a walking path to San Antonio, we started the trail in Hot Wells.

This is an ok hotel. It had a musty smell and it was tough to cook the room down. Beds were not comfortable and no one was able to get any restful sleep. Breakfast was ok.

The front desk staff were friendly and the hotel overall was clean. However, despite being a fairly new hotel, the room was showing considerable wear and tear. There was a large tear in the carpet spanning several feet across the room and what looked like bleach stains along the bottom of the wall. The other guests in the hotel were extremely loud, slamming doors, shouting, and what sounded like kids running back and forth. All of which occurred after 11pm. Given the price of the room, I expected a much better experience overall.

Staff was extremely accommodating to my family. We ended up needing another room. They showed me an ada compliant room to be sure it would work before we booked it. It was perfect. There is plenty of food options to choose from that are within walking distance.

It was an overall pleasant experience with exception for the manager who came on duty 4 days after we checked in. She called us and gave us unnecessary grief over our dog, saying the hotel wasn't pet friendly and informing us we'd be charged a $25.00 per day pet fee retroactively. Before booking, we searched Google for pet friendly hotels in this location and the result was this hotel. We walked right in the front door with our dog and never hid his presence. I felt this wasn't fair to charge for the past 4 days but understood the charge for the next 2 days of our stay. She said she'd have to have a talk with the staff member who checked us in. She ultimately didn't charge us but it was all unnecessary to be ugly with us. All the other staff was awesome and the hotel was clean and fresh.

Booked a 4-day stay for a family visit because it’s the only one located in La Vernia, TX. I paid nearly $800 for 4 nights, expecting a good stay. Unfortunately, it fell short. While I typically don’t leave reviews, I’m sharing this in hopes it helps improve the guest experience at this location. From check-in, the staff didn’t greet me or return my hellos or smiles, which was disappointing. The room had a strong bad odor, so I bought a plug-in freshener. 1st evening, young kids ran up & down the hallways for 2 hours. I reported it via the hotel’s text system, but didn’t receive a reply until hours later. A request for extra towels went unanswered by text as well I eventually had to call the front desk. The bathroom had no vent, so showers left the entire room damp including the bedding & windows. The shower head was poorly positioned towards the wall & couldn’t be adjusted. Day 3, 3 housekeepers were blocking my door with big carts & didn’t move or acknowledge me when I approached with a hello. I had to squeeze by. I quickly gathered some trash & politely said "I'm so sorry can I please dump this trash" She grabbed it, I thanked her & no reply. We didn't do breakfast, the one morning we did the trays were empty & staff didn’t offer to refill them yet we saw a staff member carrying a full plate into the back office. Meanwhile we only had coffee. Very Strange Rude Staff!! Next La Vernia trip I will continue to stay with family as I usually do.

Very Convenient, plenty of restaurants in walking distance

It was great! Even the view from my window! Cattle grazing on acres of ranch land. So peaceful.

The only thing is breakfast is from 6-8. Dang some folks like to sleep

Breakfast offering was ok; not sure about the eggs, bacon very thin, and should offer other equal sweetener for those who can't tolerate the pink stuff and stevia. Other than that, we were satisfied with our stay.

We were in LaVernia for a wedding. We had 3 rooms - staff is extremely friendly and often asked if we needed anything as we were coming and going. Breakfast was good - eggs, bacon or sausage, waffles, cereal, yogurt with toppings as well as breads/pastries. All in all a great stay!
