Roads were terrible leading to the Inn!!

Hotel caters for large parties which can compromise access to lounge. Tiny shower/toilet. Access road has large potholes. Pricing definitely matched to availability rather than hotel standard

This was a nice quaint Inn off the beaten path in Portree. One note- although free parking, many potholes in the parking lot. Bed was comfortable but only double beds and room and bathroom was small. Dining hall and living room combined was nice. We had breakfast which was yummy, porridge with berries was yummy and eggs and bacon were delicious excellent. Nothing fancy though so plan for coffee and tea- no cappuccino or latte. We loved the teas in our room, the highland cow pillows and all the old fashion horse pictures! Would recommend a stay but maybe bring early plugs bc walls are thin and get 2 rooms!

Very small and tight bedroom. Bathroom was spacious. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice restaurant with good food, however menus was limited.

Restaurant was unexpectedly closed second night due to staff shortage…was told someone sick and chef on vacation. Really? Chef on vacation in August? Was told in a condescending manner…” darlin’ this is an island…”refused my request for a discount since the restaurant was closed. Took trying three restaurants to find one who took us in without a reservation.

We loved this place and everything about it! The shower was tiny but water pressure was good and everything was very clean. Comfy bed and pillows, very nice and friendly staff, good food, great bar options. Thank you!!

This property seems expensive for what it is. It’s a clean, older property with very sweet staff. Unfortunately, the walls are paper thin so you hear everything your neighbor is doing. It’s walkable to town, but getting out of the parking lot by foot after rains requires scaling a wall or slugging through ankle deep water. Our last morning the roof leaked. There’s also a huge green light near the door that keeps the room very bright at night.

The rooms were clean and having a restaurant and bar is great. We couldn’t get into the restaurant though and we had the smallest room in the inn. The single person was given the larger room with a larger bed than the couple. Location is good and staff was friendly. Unmarked parking meant folks took more space than needed and then there was no where to park.

We had several options and chose this hotel because the website advertised regional cuisine and a focus on sustainability. Sadly the kitchen was "unfortunately closed today" - every day! The hotel looks great on the website, but in reality it is a hostel with mostly untrained staff right next to a private junkyard. You can tell in every minute that there is no manager on site (at least we didn\'t see one and that\'s exactly how it was). There was no room service and there was a lot of mold in the bathroom. The breakfast could have been good, but despite the staff having a notebook, they couldn\'t get a single order right. It was a truly absurd stay with at most hostel quality. The weakest hotel on our road trip so far. Definitely not recommended!

The most expensive and uncomfortable stay we’ve experienced on our trip to Scotland. Whoever rated this hotel as “superb” definitely didn’t stay in the room that we had the misfortune to be in. We were assigned an “accessible” room, which was right off the lobby, it had absolutely no soundproofing so we could hear every word said at the reception, the slamming of the entrance door and many other things like the washers and dryers, which were located just across from the room. Our view was of the alleyway, and an automatic light would flicker randomly all night, and even the blackout curtains didn’t help with that. As for cleanliness, the bathroom floors were just filthy, I attached some pictures to support that. The king bed advertised in the listing turned out to be two single beds pushed together with a big gap in the middle, so I kept rolling into it at night… On the upside, the receptionist and the waitstaff at breakfast were all very nice and friendly, so definitely no complaints about that. I voiced my concerns about our stay when checking out and the receptionist took my information saying I would be contacted to remediate, but it’s been almost a week and I haven’t heard back. Hate to leave a bad review, but our stay was very disappointing.

Lovely clean tidy and pleasant accommodation. Staff are really sweet and genuinely nice and helpful. Would recommend to any to stay here. We will be back

The hotel is within easy walking distance of the main square and harbour of Portree. Our room and bathroom were very clean if a bit on the small side; thank goodness neither of us is very big. Breakfast was nicely cooked and served with lots of choice. Unfortunately dinner wasn't available at the hotel two of the three nights we stayed but we were able to find places in the town. Dinner on our third night was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful and I can recommend this hotel for single travellers through to large groups who were all catered for.

The staff at this hotel is wonderful, however the hotel itself is really disappointing as the rooms are tiny with a parking lot view . Not a good value for the price. Diner was good .

Room was very small, could hear all the noise from reception and bar area. This however did stop around 10.30pm. The room above had wooden floor boards, could hear every time they moved The cooked breakfast was poor. Cold, poor quality. The hotel was clean and staff nice

Very overpriced, and even at half the cost it wouldn’t be worth it. We paid nearly $400 USD for one night - far more than the Marriott we stayed at the night before - yet the quality was nowhere close. The property feels outdated, the air is stuffy, and the walls are so thin you can hear conversations (and even breathing) from the next room. The shower was tiny, the staff seemed to avoid eye contact rather than offer service, and the food was average at best. No air conditioning either. Overall, it feels like the hotel mainly caters to large bus groups. Definitely would not stay here again.

I was on the Isle of Skye for three days and stayed here two nights. The staff are hard-working and helped to make it an enjoyable stay. This place is about a 15min walk out of the downtown area. I liked that the people staying there were from all over Europe and the rest of the world. I had one dinner there and two breakfasts. The morning meal is nice because you can order off the menu from a list of standard Scottish breakfast items, but because they have a cook/chef, you can also order what you want a la carte. Scottish eggs are very good. Considering the prix-fixe prices for dinner, it was a great value. Two things that kept me from rating it higher. First, I ordered a room with a king-size bed. In the U.S., that means a SINGLE king-size mattress. Here, they just push two single beds together. I ordered and paid for a king size bed so that I can sleep in the middle. In this case, sleeping in the middle was impossible, so had to pick one side. If I wanted to sleep on a small mattress, I would have vacationed at Mom’s house. Second, the bathrooms are tiny, especially the shower. You have to climb in and close yourself in. I am not a large man but still could not shower without constantly hitting my elbows, knees, or head on the plastic enclosure. You also cannot dry your hair near the mirror. You have to dry your hair in the bedroom. One good thing in the bathroom was the towel heater. Two people in this room would be a tight squeeze.

Wonderful stay at the Skye Inn. The room was fantastic and clean. The location was a short 10 min walk to the Harbour. The only downside was the walls between rooms were very thin and we could hear our neighbours talking very clearly. Fantastic stay though and would stay again.

Staff were wonderful, easy and relaxed atmosphere in The Skye Inn, food was local cuisine and 'to die for' an exceptional dining experience ..... planning our next trip as we speak :)

Overall, my stay was very good. The staff were friendly, although not very attentive at dinner. The room was clean, cozy and comfortable but the lukewarm shower was not great considering the water out of the tap was very hot.

Scottish beakfast was the best. Service was superb!!! Clean, quite and delightful. Cozy comfortable room. Wonderful experience.

Everything was fine , except the breakfast, as i was there , and ordered something but they forgot that , and didn't bring that thing have to ask Everything twice and still few things came as it is so thats the only thing , rest evrything was fine

I had a fantastic stay at Skye Inn! The place has a really cosy and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were outstanding—friendly, attentive, and always happy to help with anything we needed. The breakfast was excellent, with a great selection of fresh and tasty options to start the day. The location is also a big plus—just a short and easy walk to the town centre and harbour, making it perfect for exploring Inverness. The only minor downside is that the rooms are a bit small And less utilities.

The place is beautifully maintained and perfect for a comfortable stay in Portree. The real highlight is the incredibly friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast is truly excellent. And if you’re lucky, you might even spot the hotel’s beloved cat wandering through the lobby.

There's a trail along a river right below the hotel that was awesome to walk. This property is near down town which was great.

Really great location - 5-10 min walk into the city center. Great breakfast included and room was comfortable. Easy to park and staff was very helpful. Loved that you could walk into town because parking and town was busy.

The property was clean and quaint and walkable to town. Dinning options were limited and check out was a little too early, 10am.

The staff are amazing! Nicest and hardworking individuals you will ever meet in Ireland. Also, the dinner is basically a fancy 3 course meal. They have an amazing chef, and the pricing is very reasonable. Overall, we had a great time in Portree. We stayed there so we can venture off during the day to visit and hike the Quiraing and Old Man Storr. I also felt the room photos they have on Expedia do not do justice. I felt the rooms were a lot more modern looking than the photos shown. ;)
