Quiet area and beds were SUPER comfortable. Parking was secure — They close and lock the gate at night. Had a lot of luggage so elevator was great. Super friendly staff. Bathroom was great — No complaints!

Good place to stay at. It was clean and affordable and they have laundry machines!

Clean beds. Nice sheets. Excellent eating area with games and shuffleboard table, iMac and safe parking. Will stay again.

Parking is a challenge when arriving after 19:00 especially when you’re driving a pickup truck

The parking area is for cars doesn’t take many pickups to make it difficult to get in or out

This was a hotel, then a senior's apt, now a hotel again. The rooms are nice but fairly plain, no view or anything. Beds are good. Things are nice and clean. Soap/shampoo is pretty basic, no kleenex if that matters. The area is beset by homeless, but it's literally steps from the downtown shops and restaurants so it's kind of a mixed bag there. Breakfast is bare bones: cereal, milk, waffles and toast, but there is a full kitchen just around the corner so you can buy groceries and cook up 3 meals a day. There's a nice lounge downstairs with library, chairs, shuffle board... Overall we enjoyed our stay, and being 1/2 mile from where our kids live, we'll be back!

First impression of property felt off. Seemed an odd setup really. But after looking around , realized property had previously been a retirement facility…. Group dining room, community sitting/tv area and a community kitchen. They need to definitely do some upgrades, especially locks. But place felt completely safe tho… entranced locked after 10pm and parking compound locked as well. Nice location right downtown with plenty of dining and pubs.

The property was right downtown, so there were a couple of homeless around. However, parking was secure and we felt safe walking to a close by restaurant with great food. Hotel was very clean and offered a good breakfast. The fellow registering us was exceptionally friendly and had great advice. The price was very good. Would stay again.

I stayed for 4 days to attend events in Medicine Hat. It located in downtown and takes minutes for me to walk to my event. All staff who I have encountered are very nice friendly. They provided help quickly. The breakfast was simple continental. There is a small kitchen to use if you like to cook or warm up. It makes me feel home at this place.

A surprisingly nice spot in the historic downtown region. The hotel has a large and comfortable common area.

Room has no microwave washroom door is somewhat broken they need to fix it.furniture are quite dusty, crumbs on the floor and shower hairs are still there, pillows are smelly and towels are like sand paper.

This property is showing signs of being worn out. House keeping is not a priority. There is a seemingly large homeless population in the area around the hotel.

The property is decent, but dated. The fact that metal keys are still used says alot about the property. It was in good repair for the most part. Cleanliness could have better. Clean room

I was given a room in the basement which really should not be given to guests and had to ask for a room change. The property was very dated. The room had old and over used furniture but was clean. No microwave or telephone in the room. Was extremely surprised it had an "Excellent" rating on Expedia.

Clean and tidy room and common areas were nice friendly staff and management and very reasonable price for a double bed in decent size room only complaint is the drop ceiling had water damage in bathroom and blanket was thin and small but they gave us a second blanket

Very good value. Staff was friendly, room was clean and comfortable. Small issues were a noisy air conditioner, broken washing machines and ceiling water damage i bathroom.

The hotel reminded me of a Motel 6, it was basic but clean. A few things for travelers to consider is to grab the complimentary wifi information at the front desk when you’re checking in. There was no information in my hotel room regarding wifi connectivity. I was a bit concerned about the door to my room because it was a basic door that offered only the door knob as a lock. The door had no supporting security (no brackets, chain, etc). I will also add that there was a key to open/lock the room. There was no modern card system to enter the room. I was kinda disappointed that there was no recycling bin or stations in the hotel.

The front desk person was great. It was his second day and he did great. The property has the potential to be something great. I loved the room and the bathroom (it and elder care home being redeveloped) and I loved the common area down stairs. The good - spacious, updates nicely done, front desk person was super friendly and the bathroom was perfect. The bad - the temp wasn't adjustable, the beds we like sleeping on a bean bag (too soft for comfort, the lock was sticky/hard to open, blackout curtains would be a nice addition, and there was not microwave or desk.

The absolute best bed , duvet cover , i always have the best sleeps . When i go to Medicine Hat its the only place i stay

This is case of you get what you pay for. In this case, not much, but it was clean, comfortable enough, quiet, well located to Medicine Hat's quaint historic downtown. The downside was there were no glasses and no coffeemaker in my room (advertised as an amenity). Hard to brush teeth or have a glass of water with no cups. There was no top sheet on the bed (the one that goes under the duvet). Only a duvet, which I thought was very strange. The minute I got into my room I could see the bed was a double (I have a queen at home, so I know), which I brought to the front desk's attention (in person since there are no room phones), and it was insisted to me that it was a queen room. I gave up on that argument. The "continental breakfast" included cereal dispensers, single-serve yogurts, bread for toast, and a waffle iron and batter. There were no coffee cups in the cupboard when I went down, so I made my coffee in a glass tumbler. Upon checkout when asked about my stay I told reception/management that while the room was comfortable, there were no cups nor a coffeemaker in my room, and no coffee cups in the breakfast area. The fellow just shrugged it off and said "we don't have enough cups." Well, there are several thrift shops nearby to get more. He offered to get me a paper coffee cup, but the coffee I'd had was so bad I declined. It doesn't take much to make sure you have proper setup in a hotel room. When you advertise a coffeemaker, I expect one.

Super clean older hotel with lots of character. Staff was VERY friendly & helpful. Room was cleaner than I’ve seen in hotels in a while. It wasn’t fancy but it had everything we needed. We skipped breakfast because we were in a rush but it looked / smelled good. Waffles / toast / cereal / coffee. Would ABSOLUTELY stay here again.

I called hotel and let them know we had a car accident and might arrive very late; upon arrival, the front desk lady said she didn’t get any notes and if she does check in, her boss will be mad at her and me!!!! I never got checked in after driving for 9 hours!!! I just needed a few hours sleep and check out before 11!!! Horrible experience

I’m trying to resolve an issue since September 23rd. The property fraudulently charged my credit card $500 after I had sent them pic of the front & back via iMessage and upon calling/questioning I was told it took them 4-5 days to clean my room so they charged me for $88 a night hence deducting $500 from my card even after I had long checked out!! I’ve contacted my bank & I was blocked on call by the manager.Owner; if you’re reading this please address this it’s not $5 it’s about $500 stolen from me.

I took a chance on a cheap stay and learned my lesson… from the moment we walked up to the door at 3pm to check in and it was manually unlocked to let us in signalled maybe this wasn’t going to be a great decision… from there nothing worked… there was a language barrier which made understanding difficult and nothing worked… the young lady at the front desk was tapping the button on the credit card machine like it was a video game… but it wasn’t responding… we agreed to come back to the desk later to redo the credit card…, no big deal, but then we tried 3 times to unlock our door with the card system… each time coming back down the elevator to have the same girl bang away on a card reader that probably checked animals in on the ark. Finally she came up to our room and used the master key, it worked exposing the very modest room which were expecting, what I wasn’t expecting was to sit on the end of the bed and have it raise the other end of the bed like a teeter totter… we waited while the front desk girl disappeared to do something that we couldn’t understand when she left…. We waited…. Thought about our choices and decided to that this would not be where we stay. The one bright light was the super helpful and friendly lady from housekeeping, I expect had she been running things we wouldn’t have had the challenges that we did. Long story short with the help of Expedia we never brought our luggage in to the building. This property will forever be left off our list….

Afternoon staff was so roud. No greeting, no eye contact while check in. Morning person was better.

Friendly check-in staff, well-maintained, good bed/bedding. Clean, pleasant room and surroundings. Continental breakfast with a waffle maker. Elevator.

Door was locked at 9pm for safety completely understandable, 2 ways to contact front desk door bell and phone number , i called number 6 times no answer left voicemail not a nice one , rang doorbell 20 times waited outside for 15 min no place to sit , got dropped off by shuttle . After check in everything else was fabulous other than clogged leaking sink. Sheets were soft , bed was very comfortable, very quiet , breakfast included limited but nice especially for the price. I would definitely stay here again.

The downtown area was under construction and some roads near hotel were closed.

I liked the location in the historic downtown district. Unfortunately, there was construction on nearby streets so navigating the area was a challenge. Lots to see when out for a walk - great cafes, restaurants and close to the water.

Second time staying here. Good basic lodging downtown with free parking and many dining options within walking distance. Continental breakfast very modest. This place is a remarkable value if you want to be downtown.

Great location

The hotel was in an older section of the city with a lot of rough looking characters wandering around. Also the streets were closed off due to construction so it was tricky to navigate around the area. The staff were friendly and the check-in was fine. The room was clean and overall the hotel was very nice. We were only there for one night but would stay there again as the rate was very reasonable and they have a nice lounge and eating area!

Our stay I would say is just OK. Location is on a bit sketchy part of the town. The hotel is a bit old, still using manual keys. The breakfast is just bread, waffle, coffee and juice. For the price, I expected a bit more for bfast. Other cheaper budget hotels provide better bfast. 1 positive thing though is the cleanliness. At least the room is clean.

I wouldn't say it's unsafe; however, the parking gate needed to be locked at night and the fact that I was told there're homeless around did not make me feel that great. other than that the stay was fine.

Excellent choice for the price. In easy walking distance to some great shops and restaurants. MH has a cute downtown, worth an afternoon adventure. Not as sketchy as some may worry in this location. Hotel is simple, but clean and charming. Simple breakfast. No hesitation to re-book next time we are in town.

A place to sleep at a reasonable rate. Continental breakfast is hardly satisfying (cold ceral and slices of toast).

Great looking on the outside & front entrance. Parking was convenient and great and the downtown location made it easy to grab a bite to eat. Furniture in the rooms is quite “tired” looking, but the mattress seemed to offer a restful experience. Fire alarms went off in the middle of the night (apparently 2:30 am as a result of someone lighting a candle the front desk said😳). Breakfast had waffles, toast or cereal & juice , coffee or tea. Wished there would have been fresh fruit as well for gluten free option?
