The hotel is in the middle of town where there are plenty of cafes and restaurants available, The rooms were clean and the cleaning staff did a good job maintaining the rooms throughout my stay. The staff was very nice and helpful as well. The only negative was the elevator not working throughout the 2 weeks that I was there. The sign said they were getting it repaired as soon as possible, but it didn’t happen while I was there. Thus I had to walk the 60 steps total up to my room and some of the stairs were narrow and steep. Too bad the elevator repair wasn’t taken care of in a timely manner.

Absolutely incredible experience at this hotel. Shout out to the front desk, especially Anke. I stayed at a newer room and the hotel is just a beautiful representation of old meets new, smells good, very well maintained, a lot of attention to detail and location is unbeatable. I cannot rave more about this place

Amazing hotel, one of a kind. Easy to get lost inside but that doesn’t matter because it’s so beautiful renovated with a careful eye for every detail.

Mathis property is well located near shops and restaurants. It has great views from the roof top and has modern amenities that blend well with historic features. The staff are welcoming and helpful. The breakfast included great coffee and a bounty of fresh, delicious choices
