Hotel Grand A View

We stayed here for 5 nights. I only noticed they offered free airport pick up the night before and messaged them, they had allocated times for pick up and luckily we arrived around one of the allocated times, this was a huge perk as there are lots of people offering expensive taxis from the airport. The hotel was clean, tidy and had all facilities I expected based off of the listing; additionally it felt very safe with 24/7 security and staff around. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay, our room was cleaned everyday with clean towels provided. They had a regular shuttle bus down to the beaches which was really useful and saved a lot of cost on taxis up and down (around 5-10 minute drive). We ate at the restaurant twice, it was good food with large portion sizes. We did not eat breakfast here so I cannot comment on this. Overall we had a lovely stay and would recommend it to anyone looking to go to Montego Bay.

everyone was nice and happy to help you in anyway possible. Rooms are very clean and spacious. TV allows you to get everything you could possibly want to watch. The day we ate breakfast was not s buffet but a full Jamaican breakfast with a fried dumpling, boiled dumpling, boiled green banana, white yam, swordfish with flat beans and steamer vegies. Nice pool but we did not swim on our stay. Not a luxury hotel by US standards but it certainly suited our needs very well. The shuttle runs at set times. To/from airport and the hip strip

The machine of the gym was broken. The room smells and the breakfast was for locals. I could not eat anything due my intolerances and I ask for a plain omelette and they asked me for 7usd. On the other hand, the barbecue was nice. People very kind.

The property have an amazing view.The staff was very helpful and friendly.I wished they had more options for the breakfast The pool was not properly maintained. Free transport from and to the airport.Overall was not bad, Stayed 6 nights

The fitness room was not great: some equipment were not working well and it was smelly as there was no AC. Our toilet had no ventilation and only a small window that came out to the room. Not nice for intimacy. The cleaning in the room was not really optimal, in our 10 days it seems that it was cleaned only once but towel were changed every day. Breakfast: mainly a buffet with zero fruits. Other than that the people working at the hotel were super nice and helpful.

Flight was cancelled and booked this hotel because it was Near the airport. Called hotel for shuttle and came within 15 minutes! Check in process was pretty good. Had to wait for rooms to be ready and hung out by the pool. Restaurant Food was good but took forever for the food to be served, an hour is too long for mainly sandwiches. Bathroom door did not lock. It was noisy because it's on a road and can hear people in the lobby because it echoed a lot. Complimentary breakfast was buffet style but was told can only have one plate after we ate. For the inconvenience of our flight cancelling due to weather, it was okay for one night. Thankful there were rooms available near the airport. Shuttle service back to airport was great no traffic under five minutes.

Very clean and updated hotel. Resort like in many ways.. nice pool, nice facilities like gym etc great for families.

My stay at the hotel was unfortunately limited by several issues with the amenities. The pool, which I had been looking forward to using, was not well-maintained—there were visible bugs in the water, and I even witnessed guests attempting to clean them out themselves. This made the pool far less inviting and raised concerns about overall cleanliness standards. In addition, the water in both the shower and sink was not functioning properly, with low pressure and inconsistent flow. It appeared that there may have been clogged or damaged pipes, which impacted the comfort and convenience of my stay. As for the dining experience, I was under the impression that breakfast would be unlimited, but the portions and service felt restricted. The servers did not seem very attentive, and it gave the impression of being overly cautious with serving sizes. I believe the breakfast menu could be improved by offering a more diverse selection, blending both Caribbean and American options to cater to a wider range of guests. I was particularly disappointed that bacon—something many guests expect as a standard breakfast option—was not available at all. While I appreciate certain aspects of my stay, these areas left me feeling underwhelmed, especially given my expectations. I believe with better maintenance, more attentive service, and an expanded breakfast menu, the hotel could provide a much more enjoyable experience for future guests.

The hotel was good overall, I jus expected a bigger room and better gym but it was still good .

Not my first time on this property, to my surprise its a big difference much more nicer. The room was very clean bathrooms was very clean and that was important to me.

From i stepped in the hotel, the staff was excellent. The property is very clean. I would go back, and will also recommend it as well

The headboards in the room were filthy. I asked for a different room and still those headboards were filthy as well. Even though they had rooms with headboards of a different material when I was asked they told me they didn’t. The ceiling around the shower was peeling and looked dirty as well. The location was about a 30 minute walk from the hip strip

The hotel is much more than I expected. It is very beautiful and clean. Everyone that works that we came in contact with was helpful and thoughtful. On our arrival, the original room was next to the kitchen and smelled like fish. We asked for a different room and without hesitation, they moved us. That junior suit was great and had a nice view. We did not have dinner there but we did have a drink and an appetizer. The shrimp was great and I had the Bob Marley, my husband had the purple rain, they both were delicious. My only complaint from giving 5 stars was the breakfast…not a fan!

Very clean and relaxing. Just up the hill from the main strip which has all the livliness/parties. Offers a quiet place to decompress and enjoy ocean veiws. Delicious jamacian style breakfast, would definitely visit again!

The sheets were dirty with hairs on it. The water in the shower was not hot, and half of the time cold. They say they provide breakfast, but it was the worst breakfast I have ever had, it is just one round of breakfast with low quality. The only good thing about breakfast was the fact that we didn't need to go get a taxi for coffee. But the hotel has good security.

The staff was absolutely excellent. They were friendly, attentive, and went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable. With a bit more attention to cleanliness, this place could really shine.

I enjoyed my stay, however there were alot of bees outside my room door in the night. So many that I couldn’t leave or enter as I would like. The shower had some soap stains that looked like they’d been there for years. Room was clean and spacious though. I enjoyed my stay. Food was really good as well. I’d go back for sure.

I liked how clean the property was, however after day one i realized the housekeepers werent as meticulous when cleaning. The food was ok the first day break was very good but as the days went by the standard fell, there wasnt alot of options. The phone wasnt working in our room. I think

We stayed in one of the more expensive top-floor larger units. It came with a filled complimentary mini-bar and late-check-out privileges. We liked the stay, overall. The room was spacious, clean, and functional, if a bit spartan. Staff were friendly, unlike in much else of Jamaica's service industry. It's clear that the hotel was recently renovated, so there's a brand-new bathroom, a large flatscreen TV, but something as basic as a coffee maker is absent. There is no artwork on the walls, unlike elsewhere in the hotel's main areas, where they have placed beautiful local artwork. There is insufficient parking on the property itself, so don't be surprised if you have to park outside. In some ways there were missed opportunities. There would be a glorious view if the powerlines in front of the hotel had been taken underground. Given where they are, they spoil any photo opportunity. Equally, on the pricey unit we were in, a balcony would have been spectacular. The breakfast spread is good, and the quality is also good. The restaurant serves nice food, but the portion sizes (I had oxtail) were miniscule, considering the price point. They offer scheduled complimentary shuttle services to the beach and the airport. The airport is super close, so it's a dream for airplane buffs watching them come in, but it's not too close to be bothered by plane noise. We stayed here for one night on a layover before we flew out of the country, for that it worked perfectly.

Very nice hotel. The rooms are nicer than the outside would indicate. The only issue was the noisy traffic below. If you’re a light sleeper it could be a problem.

The hotel staff was friendly and very welcoming.I stayed in a king suite room#402 I was pleased with the room size and amenities. My only negative about this property is the shuttle service terminates to early. Management should revamp the hours of operation to include evening services beyound 5:30 PM

The room was very large and very clean. The bathroom was also very accommodating and spacious.

The staff was so nice and I was early so there were very few guests sat that time and yet they gave me a room right next to the kitchen with banging pots and loud chatter. I was going to give a poor review but when I asked for a better location they couldn’t have been nicer and gave me a nice room. The restaurant staff was exceptionally nice with genuine smiles and good service I just don’t think they should use that room except for hearing impaired guests

Nice comfortable beds, spacious rooms, clean, amazing view

The service was wonderful. The house keeping and cuter service was excellent. My only issue was with the young lady Assara who worked at he front desk. I informed her that the security lock on my door was broken. Her reply was to say most of the rooms security lock was broken. She didn’t offer me a new room or any resolution. I went agony the next day and told her I was unable to sleep the night before due to the lock being broken and concerned with my security. At this point I directly asked her if I could switch rooms. Her response was we have no rooms available we have many people arriving today and we need the space. I I felt that to be concerning with my well-being and not very hospitable. At the time I said well you should have offered me a room yesterday when I came to you with my concern. She seemed annoyed and at that moment took the office key to show me another room that had the same broken lock. She wanted to demonstrate to Me how the 2 locks that were on the door was satisfactory for safety. I remained unconvinced and she didn’t switch my room. So no I did not have the best stay at Grand A View Hotel 🏨

The tours and booking desk was a hot mess. I tried to pay for my over priced excursion for three days and because they didn't have a credit card machine they had me pay through a third party and because of the security on my card it wouldn't go through. My daughter had to pay through zillo .we got to the airport 1 hour late because of the debocal.

I am very observant and picky when i stay at hotels... Hotel Grand A DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Their welcoming was warm. The front desk lady was professional and friendly.. Check in was smooth and quick. Then there's the room.. It was immaculate and looked EXACTLY like the picture... Room service knocked everyday to ask if we wanted cleaning... The breakfast delicious everyday. The food in the restaurant was on point and so was Ms. Janet (Jackson if u nasty), Steve and the rest of the food staff... The shuttles were available and prompts and if u wanted to do anything else, they were helpful with Taxi's... I hate that we left on a Sunday and didnt get to say goodbye to Kevin our driver, Ms. Janet and Steve... IT WAS THE HOSPITALITY FOR ME.... AND YES, I WOULD DEFINITELY STAY AGAIN.

I LOVED EVERYTHING!! From the front desk staff who were absolutely amazing to the bellmen, the shuttle driver and the restaurant staff. I can’t say enough about how friendly, polite and helpful they all were to me. They are very knowledgeable about the area and are genuinely happy to help. The property is in a great location close to the airport…and the VIEW. It is very well maintained and the room was excellent. Can’t forget to shout out the housekeepers and security…loved staying with y’all and I’ll be back soon.

First time to Montego Bay and was very pleased with Grand-A-View. Great hotel for the price. Staff was great, hotel was clean and restaurant was good. Very short Uber ride to Hip Strip and airport. Felt very safe. The view is also great.

I had high hopes for this property after reading high reviews online. However, I ended up with a few negative experiences: - First room I was given had bugs in various places. We initially shrugged it off until we saw them on the bed as well. - When we mentioned this to the front desk, they moved us to a different room but did not so much as apologize or seem interested in the bugs. - Customer service was subpar from check in to check out.

Amazing welcoming staff that go above and beyond to ensure safety. Traveled a lone female and felt super protected! Even gave me shuttles to destinations not on the route to ensure my experience was amazing

It was very poor to stay here. Hotel didn’t offer blankets, toiletries, or other standard amenities. Breakfast would take 30 minutes to receive some eggs and service was beyond poor. Not staying here again.

The front desk staff could have been a little nicer and happier. Both at check in and check out.

All of the staff was welcoming, accommodating. The issue we had they settled it quick. From security to the front desk, wait staff and house keeping was great! No complaints. The view was AMAZING! Looking forward to our next trip to Jamaica! Thank you everyone!

Great location. Staff is very accommodating. Best view overlooking Montego Bay from their Terrace amd restaurant in the morning for breakfast featuring local food and standard western style choices.

Close to the airport

It is a beautiful hotel , but the room we got has No ocean view. Room is not spacious as the photo, but clean and comfortable. Breakfast is good with local food and fresh juice . Just not convenient to go to beach and hip strip as it is on the hill , need taxi to go these areas Hotel has a tourist desk help to get taxi

We got stuck in montego bay thanks to a snowstorm in the states and stayed here overnight. Very convenient and nice people. Basic hotel with nice staff. Not walkable to anything.

Good view from rooms, terrace as well as restaurant but the ocean is afar :( Rooms are good sized with a small refrigerator. Bathroom was clean & had good pressure. Centrally located; also close to the airport- the free shuttle is a good service for guests. Included Breakfast was OK We walked down to Hip strip but took an Uber back as it was uphill ( Hotel is on top of a hill) Overall Good not great !

Very clean hotel. Excellent staff. Great view over Montego Bay, Very close to the airport, thus an excellent choice when staying over night for a morning flight or arriving on a late night one. Not really for vacationing. Next to a very noisy roadway.

Excellent staff from the shuttle driver to the front desk clerk and the activities clerks. Housekeeping and bell hops gave excellent service. Dining staff very accommodating. Property interior is very nice and the views leading to the ocean overlooking the tourist areas spectacular! BUT THE TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM THE TOURIST STRIP SHOULD BE COMPLIMENTARY. I spent most of my money on shuttle service which only was less then 2 miles!! Each way is $20!!! Free shuttle service should be offered only to the main strip because it is dangerous walking around a hilly terrain faced with speeding cars and trucks. The location on the map is deceiving.

The hotel is a view i must say!!! very clean and well kept. room were very nice beds were comfortable pillows was soft Ac was cold!!!!! One down fall was the breakfast they serve the same thing every single day nothing new jus yams an cord fish and fried dumplin thats the only reason i would not stay again.
