Residence Inn New York Downtown Manhattan/Financial District

Our stay was fine, room was clean, but there’s room for improvement in some areas. - We specifically looked for a place with a kitchen, and the room we booked had a kitchenette. But the items in the kitchenette were sparse and not overwhelmingly useful. A toaster would’ve been nice or a cutting board for fruit - The fridge was very noisy and disturbed our sleep - They seemed understaffed in the reception - You’ll wait forever for the elevator (!), which can be a problem when you have an appointment and live on the 27th floor - They can store your luggage, but it’s just behind their counter, there’s no separate locked room, so it doesn’t feel very safe (don’t leave behind valuables) - There was no toilet brush

I made my reservation for this one and not the Residence Inn I was supposed to. They were kind enough to let me out of my reservation here and go to the other one around corner. Granted, the one I stayed at was lovely enough, but I think this one was the better one. Great staff, and I really appreciate their kindness and willingness to help.

Overall stay was pretty good.

The rooms were clean. The staff was courteous.

Check-in was slow on Saturday afternoon, but other than that, my stay was fine. Would stay here again.
