Residence Inn by Marriott Redwood City San Carlos

Both days of my day there were 12 hour parties going on in the basketball area and the pool had impossible to relax and get to sleep before 10:30 PM

Didn't like having to pay to park while staying there. Expensive parking fees

Everything was really nice, friendly, professional, and comfortable. My 2 complaints were that there is no room to swim in the pool as it was overrun by 20 some kids and their parents. Really a mad house. I would suspect many families using the pool were not guests of the Inn. Also, the service was great but the eggs and sausage were NOT good, period. Everything else was just fine.

Great room. Pool, gym, basketball courts, and full breakfast buffet! All staff were exceptional on service and personality!! My family and I shall return!!

They had a fire going in the lobby as you entered. That made a very nice experience as you walked in. What was difficult, is the parking was almost completely full. Had to park in the back. And the property across the street had a sign that said no hotel parking, not very friendly.

Would definitely stay again. Every staff member we dealt with was wonderful and very friendly. Pool was fantastic! Room was comfortable and had all we needed.

We stay at the residence Inn in San Carlos three times a year. This was the by far the worst time. We asked for a room high and toward the back of the hotel so we could park near our room. We were not told that the elevator was not working. We are over 70 years old. when we went back to reception my husband asked when the elevator was going to be fixed, because if it wasn’t going to be fixed during our stay, we wanted to change rooms. We had not been to our room yet, so it was not like we had messed it up. He assured us the elevator would be fixed the next day. It was not. It still wasn’t fixed when we checked out this afternoon so we carried our luggage up and down the stairs, making several trips. We came back to the hotel last night after our business meeting, and we’re going to sit out by the fire pit And it wasn’t working. Hopefully by August since we have three rooms reserved everything will be working if not, it will probably be the last time we stayed there.

We absolutely loved our stay!! This hotel accommodated all our needs by staying in the 2 bedroom suite to fit our family. The kids loved the pool & hot tub. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of hot options. Most definitely will stay again!

Stayed for 5 nights. Relatively new property. Everything was clean with ample parking and easy access to the major North/South freeway (101). The hotel is 20 min from SFO, 30 from the City itself, and about 20-25 min from Palo Alto. San Carlos has a nice downtown with plenty of dining options.

Easy check in and out, excellent breakfast my room was pretty clean except for my pillow it smelled dirty I had to put a towel over it cuz it was so smelly but overall was pretty good.

It was not quiet at 5am due to truck loading/unloading noises vs construction possibly… The room’s temperature felt uneven, one bedroom was warm and other bedroom cool. One controls the section we chose. Dining room / front area seating for meals were a bit dirty on the floor. Saw a broken glass bottom of a champagne glass and a rubber bottom part of a chair? Overall, it is a very modern looking type of a hotel. Been to other Residence Marriott’s..that I rated 5 stars. Sorry, this one is only a 3

My Wife and I stayed for one night. We needed a hotel room for one night after a Wedding Reception. Super convenient location and easy parking. We were PLEASANTLY surprised that our room was a studio apartment. It was HUGE!!!! Although our in room coffee pot was missing the carafe and the room only had decaf coffee. But the continental breakfast that was provided had plenty of coffee and made for a GREAT breakfast. We will definitely being staying here in the future.

Residence Inn paid attention to all details. Shower was spacious, good water pressure and plenty of shelves to hold extra bath items. The suite was spacious and functional. Revolving Smart TV for 360 viewing in every corner of the suite. Beds were comfortable but pillows felt like little balls of cotton inside. Plenty of charging USB ports and outlets. The kitchen was decently supplied and a comfortable seating area for dining. Firm sofa with wipeable fabric so it feels cleaner than dusty material. The only bad thing was the air conditioning vent faced one of the beds and when the air hit the ceiling, it bounced right down to the head area. The vent was not adjustable so we had to cover it with a piece of cardboard, otherwise cold air would blast right down onto our head area. The breakfast was exceptionally good, including scramble eggs with alternating sausages, patties, crispy bacon, hard boiled eggs, mini waffles, oatmeal, greek yogurt, fresh cantaloupes, and pineapple. The best part was the amazing add-ons which included walnuts, sliced almonds, raisins, cranraisins, granola, chocolate chip and pumpkin seeds. Very generous and thoughtful to the guests who need grab and go breakfast as they have microwavable pouches filled with egg and sausage McMuffins, croissant sandwiches, egg souffle, and more. Only wish they had cranberry juice. Breakfast staff was great. The ladies were cheerful and quick to refill everything. Will definitely return and recommend it!

The rooms were on the larger side and beds were really comfortable.

The room was nice and very large. A/C/ did not work but repair man came quickly. Did not get very cool but service was good. The carpet had 2 nails sticking up next to he kitchenette flooring. Would have been very bad for a child. I put a sign on the floor with an arrow next to it.

It’s comfortable and the room are spacious, the only thing that needs to improve is the mattress in the pull out bed. It’s spring and hard to the back

The eggs were not tasty. The sheets sounded like paper when moving around. However, the room and bathroom was very stylish. I forgot to tell front desk the shower head was leaking once we stopped showering, no matter how much we turned the knob to the off position. Maybe that's why it was so tight and hard to initially turn it on.

I recently stayed at this hotel, and while the overall experience was decent, the sofa bed in my room was in terrible condition. It was extremely uncomfortable, with a worn-out mattress and poor support, making it nearly impossible to get a good night's sleep. For a hotel of this standard, I expected better quality accommodations. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and upgrades the sofa beds for future guests.

Very clean and very nice. Good breakfast!! The only thing is the sofa bed is so very uncomfortable. But everything was great!

My stay was great even though I got locked out my room for about 45 minutes due to key entry went dead but the technician was great he opened an empty room for us to stay in while we wait, and he got in our room fairly quick!

Room was not ready and there was even a question as it being ready at 9:30 PM. We arrived around 2 PM. Apparently a VIP was staying in the room prior to us and did not check out until 4 PM.

The hotel told us they don’t guarantee room types and tried to place us in a studio with one bed when I booked and paid for a 1 bedroom suite. The rude and unpleasant lady said Hotels.com is a third party so they don’t guarantee rooms to 3rd party customers. Had to go to the front desk three times to remind them we needed a 2pm check out we had requested prior to the trip and told no problem. We also got locked out of our room twice because they didn’t apply the 2pm checkout time. Frustrating for sure especially with a fussy 10 month old.

The room we got was great, full kitchen. I recommend getting food at the store and making your own breakfast because the hot breakfast they offer for free in the morning is awful.

We were pretty disappointed in our stay. I rarely leave hotel reviews but wanted to do so after several problems at the hotel. Check in was quick and easy. Grounds were nice and secure. Outdoor areas and fire pit was great. Room was good size and set up pretty well but bed was terribly uncomfortable. My husband and I both agreed probably the worst hotel bed we have ever slept in. Additionally there was trash stuffed between the bed and the night stand that housekeeping missed. We noticed pretty quick the air wasn’t working. Front desk sent maintenance who suggested we select the fan button and keep the door to the bedroom closed to help the sensor work correctly. Also said unit was set to not go below 65. Well our room never got below 75…it was super warm. Tossed and turned all night because we were too hot. Breakfast was supposed to be served 7-10am. They were out of half & half for coffee by 8 am and food around 9am. Pretty ridiculous. We won’t be booking this hotel again despite its good location.
