The hotel is beautiful and the staff is great! It’s very pretty at night to relax in the patio but you should know it is a popular spot for people to come have dinner and drink drinks. So it can be pretty crowded, and a bit loud even in your room because of the courtyard. ALSO: note that is not a pool in the middle! We thought we were checking into a hotel that had a pool to relax by and take a swim, but it is really a very shallow water feature

Was a very nice upscale hotel. It was very clean and beautiful. (Besides the floors were not mopped) They are however pricey. Valet is the only parking they have (40.00). There meals are between 25.00 and 75.00. Food looks good. Room is a little.on the small side but works ☻. Pool is right in the middle of the restaurant where people eat. Overall i give it a 4 star.

Lovely hotel. Room was beautiful and comfortable. Staff very nice. Bar had good cocktails and the patio was very pleasant. Valet parking was reasonably priced and convenient. A nice relaxing stay. We were upgraded to a courtyard room from a snug, which was nice as it seemed a good deal more spacious. It’s also a terrific location if you want to be near Thai Town/Los Feliz/Silver Lake or Griffith Park. Only caveat is courtyard rooms open right onto the restaurant, so there’s normal restaurant noise. It didn’t bother us but if you wanted to go to sleep early or sleep in late it could be an issue.

So this is a very cool hotel. Well designed. Beautiful. But some big misses. No outlets in rooms to plug in phone and devices. And the big issue. No coffee until 7!!! I had to Uber eats Starbucks. For paying 500 a room this was inexcusable!! And I had to make it to a morning TV show. Put coffee machines in the rooms !

5 stars all the way around!! Beautiful hotel and friendly helpful staff. Missing a pool, but we were going to the Greek Theater for a concert, only a 7 min short ride away! Highly recommend!

The hotel is the quite run-down. There is way too much noise from the courtyard restaurant up into the rooms until late st night. It was very difficult to sleep. The rooms are stuffy and even worse because we were trying to keep the windows closed to keep the noise out. There is no elevator so it’s difficult and unsafe to move luggage up the rickety wooden stairs. There is no bellman to hepl move luggage.

Fantastic hotel. Small but comfortable rooms. Courtyard is an upscale restaurant with great food and pretty reasonable prices. The bar is great. Thankyou Kaitlin for pouring some excellent cocktails. Please be aware that the pool is not a swimming pool which is the only downside I felt. For the money you are paying I did expect a pool. I would stay again though.

Great stay, loved it. I wish the bed sheets and towels were a bit softer though. Valet cost was high considering there was no self park option. As well, there was a hair not belonging to us upon entering our bathroom and a brown stain that seemed to be from someone’s period. These were small blemishes but still, not nice to see.

The photos look amazing but in person the interior renovations look very beat up, old, and not well designed. We booked the higher tier room with balcony on the 2nd level with courtyard views. Bathroom is small, has poor water pressure and no power outlet; also not the cleanest. Room itself is small and has little space for luggage. The restaurant at the hotel is noisy all the way to midnight. Poor sound-proofing. We were lucky we were staying at this hotel for just 1 night out of our 5 day vacation and 1 night was about all we could stand. The hotel staffs were great and friendly but the hotel isn't comfortable.

We did not eat there but the place was hopping each night with restaurant guests surrounding the spacious beautiful courtyard. They also served breakfast in the same space. There is no elevator but two sets of stairs to the second floor where we stayed. Our room was spotless, efficiently appointed and cleaned daily. The staff was helpful and friendly. The noise and music from the restaurant could be heard but was not bothersome. Parking was expensive and hard to come by so we did not use it. We would stay there again.

The location is central to all the tourist places to visit. Besides, the hotel property is beautiful and very clean. I highly recommend this hotel.

Comfortable room but no drawers ,only open hanging area and shelf. Nothing to place suitcases on except bed. Others have complained of noise from the dining area but we didn’t experience any problem. Great bedding and towels.

Perfect place for those who prefer an intimate boutique with an emphasis on design. It’s quirky and missing some of the little things of luxury hotels, such as in-room coffee maker and the vanity items in bathrooms (q tips, cotton pads and the like). The rooms are very small and bathrooms even smaller with not a lot of space to put things. The walls are thin (I heard my neighbor’s alarm go off), and noise from the courtyard and halls does carry so also not for the light sleepers. Beds and linens are all top of the line, and everything is comfortable and well-appointed. I was very grateful for the in-room charger, which most luxury hotels have yet to include. The restaurant and lounge are gorgeous, and the food and drinks are great. I had clients meet me at the restaurant multiple times and all were impressed with the food, drink and ambiance. Service was a bit spotty, but everyone tried to super serve and make me feel welcomed and cared for. Cara is a great find for the traveler who favors intimacy, design and ambiance over convenience, quiet and luxury.

The room was clean. The staff was great. There were no amenities in the room such as lotion. The room had no chairs. The bathroom lacked a towel rack, or shelves to put your toiletries. The room was located above the bar and courtyard. The noise was too loud to sleep. The TV was pay to watch. No live Tv.

The Cara was a lovely oasis tucked away in East Hollywood. The rooms were simple but chic, quiet and comfortable, with a nice balcony to enjoy a morning coffee overlooking a gorgeous courtyard. Had breakfast and dinner here and both meals were delicious and staff attentive. I'll definitely be staying here again.

A great small hotel, very trendy feel about it. Staff were brilliant all round with special mention for Brian on the front of house team - he always seems to be in the “right place, right time” when we needed assistance. Area feels run down and a bit seedy, but that’s Hollywood I guess!

The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The room was so nice and the outside dining area was special. I would highly recommend this property for stays near Hollywood and Los Feliz nature trail. We loved our hike to the Observatory, too.

Interesting drive up and entry was a little hard to find from the street. Very close to Greek theatre and Griffith Park. Beautiful, boutique style hotel. Excellent and comfortable room, just a little small, but convenient, right next to pool and outdoor dining area. Excellent restaurant and bar. Minor complaints: bartender wasn’t really friendly at all (but the bar back Noland was great), and music was a bit too loud. Corkage fee at restaurant was exorbitant ($60), double to triple what I’ve paid at other nice restaurants.

Food is excellent. Any meal we had there was very good. Service is a little slow but other than that we really like it! The bed was not as comfy as the first time we were there 2 years ago :( The mattress needs to be refreshed. One side was deeper than the other.

What a fantastic 1st experience at the Cara! A gem of a find in that hood with a quaint boutique ambiance, amicable, helpful and service oriented staff from the valet, ALEX at the reception and all around team lead, Oscar and others at the bar, and wait staff at the fantastic restaurant where the dinner we had was excellent! I will be back!

The food was excellent. Enjoyed the scallops at dinner and the fresh fruit on the chia pudding. My husband had the mushroom omelet and it was delicious at brunch. The bar was cool. Easy check in and check out.

Had a quick stay at The Cara after attending a show at the Greek Theatre. The hotel has a cool, lounge vibe. It is bright and airy and is super clean. We enjoyed delicious late afternoon cocktails on a patio with lots of plants, and the people who work there couldn’t have been nicer.
