Kimpton - Hotel Palomar South Beach by IHG

Nice area. Very convenient location. Chosw this for convenience to the cruise port. Comfortable bed. View was meh but it was just an overnight stay. Rooftop was closed so we didn't get to enjoy that amenity, despite paying a fee for the access. Valet is up to $69/night depending on vehicle size with 24 hour in/out access. Overall a good hotel if your budget permits.

Hotel/Room was great! The Room Attendants were amazing! Hotel Área amazing! Pool was great! I had a great experience only downside for us it was raining a lot. We didn’t get to use all the amenities, like the beach and the pool everyday. We rented a car from Turo. However, Parking was expensive at the hotel $47 per night and you don’t get to park your own car.

Good location. Close to Lincoln Rd strip mall, places for food and Trader Joe’s or Publix. Nice rooftop pool. Clean rooms and relaxing for our stay

Our stay was great. Clean hotel with nice staff and free amenities/services. Free shuttle that takes you around South Beach from Thursday to Sunday. Free chairs at the beach - you have to pay for umbrella rental though. Rooftop pool is also great although the rooftop itself could use some cleaning and better maintenance. They also offer free coffee and tea in the lobby every morning and free wine from 5pm to 6pm everyday. The room was spacious and clean. Located near Lincoln road so you have access to many things and can easily move around South Beach or get to downtown within 15 minutes

Central location, comfortable accommodations, great breakfast, fun roof-top pool and bar, super staff.

We had a great experience at this hotel. It was in a great location for shopping, dining out. With stores right across the street. Such as grocery, pharmacy, and much more. The only complaint I have is the beach is a bit too far to walk. They provide transportation to and from anywhere you would like to go. However, we were unaware that the transportation service is only available on certain days of the week. I stayed Saturday-Thursday and transportation was not available for any of our days. I was incredibly disappointed with this. Considering how much was spent to get to and from the beach and anywhere else we weren’t able to walk to. I would definitely stay here again. I think next time I will just make sure when the transportation is available.

I wish it would have been shared that the only convenient parking option was $59/day valet! The other option is to find open parking along the streets of Miami Beach.

All staff were extremely nice and helpful. Amenities were great, coffee maker was brought to room on request, and extra pods provided when requested. Hotel has a free shuttle to the beach, where they provide a chair and towel. Hotel is also in a great location, near stops for the free trolley, and within walking distance to many attractions. They also provide infused water all day, and cool face cloths, coffee in the morning and wine/sangria in the evenings. The rooftop terrace and pool were lovely as well.

The kimpton was very nice. Close to everything and only 20 walk to the beach. Roof top bar and pool was great.

I upgraded my room and sadly wasn’t able to use the balcony nor was my room changed. The cushion on balcony had mold and was all ripped up. Highly upset.

Great location, rooms are modern and clean.

Overall the hotel is in good conditions but needs a refresh in stuff like the headboard of bed has stains, but the rest of the room was very nice

The property does not provide accurate information via phone. We called three times to confirm deposit and additional fees. The lady and the gentleman (both on 2 separate dates) informed us that the deposit is $150. NOT $150 a DAY! On top of the $45 "Amenities" fee. There was no amenities aside from the pool, which is very small. The balcony is smaller than an apartments. The surrounding areas are filled with homeless people, including the terrible view of the chiropractors office and the liquor store across the street. The walls in the room were dirty as if someone spilled something on them. The bathrooms had not been scrubbed down thoroughly, lighting is not what was shown in pictures. Parking is $54 a day! Park across the street at $2 parking.

A very nice modern and very clean hotel with friendly staff. Very short walk to all the food and shope of Lincoln Road.

The staff was welcoming and accommodating. The property was clean.and smelled great! The room was a nice size, I would say on the larger size. Did I say how clean everything was ?! Cleanliness is really important to me. I don't want to be skeeved out where I have to disrobe and sleep. The area has great resturants and shopping. You are a 5 min walk to the Lincoln road shopping area! This is a great area filled with major stores as well as art galleries and boutique stores. Loved it. Full of people and eateries. The hotel had a shuttle to the beach. The roof top pool was small cute, but meh. You could hang around and sip a drink if you want to escape your room. It was too hot up there for me, but may work for you. I would stay at the property again.

I briefly was stuck in the elevator with one of the employees on the third floor Saturday afternoon around 4:40-4:50pm. I was able to get out the elevator take the steps down and make another worker aware while the other employee made sure no one got in the elevator until the issue was fixed. The room was lovely and clean, the rooftop furniture could use some cleaning, overall the surrounding area was fantastic.

The tv did not work and the room smelled like dog urine.

The whole hotel is immaculate! We enjoyed every are from the driveway, lobby, elevator, room, rooftop pool, cafe/restaurant, and every corner of the place. Beautiful art and decor throughout. I liked the lighting a lot as well. Shout-out to Jimmy at the front desk for being the man. He was very patient with a guest in front of us who was......not so patient. Jimmy handled it wonderfully and was extremely helpful and polite to me and my wife. Hope he gets the recognition he deserves!

Disappointing for a Kimpton. No lobby, just a budget hotel desk. Walls are thin. Giant gap under the door. Tiny, dirty bathrooms. Incorrect charges on the bill. On the bubble Between one and two stars. The woman who works at the front desk was nice, friendly and tried to address issues. But should couldn’t fix a bad hotel alone. Note to management, remove the slam balls from the gym. The building shaking workout someone was enjoying at 7 am on a Saturday was not really great for the rest of the people in the entire hotel.

Her only complaint was the shower option had no door. Otherwise, everything was top-notch. Would definitely stay again.

Beautiful room and view, great bathroom amenities, a convenient walk to shopping, dining and entertainment. A little noisy with traffic, but lovely otherwise. Great staff! Very hospitable and incredibly professional.

Too much noise on next room family with kids even though I complain for it they make it worst from 6am playing kids crying screaming

Let me start off by saying it was probably one of the better mattresses ive slept on at a hotel. Quite comfortable. The bathroom is most interesting. The opening to the shower is too big and get water everywhere. There was not an exhaust fan as an option. It can get quite damp in there just feom the steam itself muxh less the water that sprays out from the shower. Tried to move the shower head but that didnt work. Room doesnt come with a microwave but i did call down to the front desk and they had one brought to my room. The guy handed me the microwave and left. Would have been nice he just came in and connected it for me instead of passing the buck. If you're looking for a more quiet atmosphere, this isn't it. The roadway is pretty loud and you're guaranteed sirens every 3 minutes or so from ambulances or cops rushing by. Not bad for walking distance to Lincoln Mall or The Fillmore.

I am so incredibly disappointed in my most recent stay at the Kimpton Palomar hotel in Miami Beach. I have stayed here multiple times, mainly because we love the location and the rooftop pool deck. Unfortunately, this most recent trip was a disaster. Originally I booked the room through Expedia prepaid from Fri-Mon. I then was able to take an additional day away, so I booked Thursday through my IHG rewards points. Upon check in, I was asked to swipe my card once for $150 for the first night hold, and then again for $300 incidentals for the remainder of the stay. The concierge was kind as to only hold $300 for the last 3 nights. The next day, in the lobby I was approached because there was some sort of system failure and they wanted to swipe my card again for the incidentals. When I checked my credit card transactions, I realized there were THREE debits made by Kimpton. One for $150, one for $300 and another mystery charge of $200. It was explained to me that somehow, even though I prepaid through Expedia the computer got confused and automatically charged me for a night with my card on file. This seemed really strange and upsetting. I have been assured that all of these charges will be credited back to my card, although I do not see anything credited back as of today. This is highly highly disappointing and stressful, especially when the purpose of the trip is to have a relaxing beach weekend. We wasted so much time on this back and forth being stressed

I would aid great but the front desk make it just okay , let's start with not telling incorrect information , not accommodating at all you ask for a cab they look at you to say we don't do that call Uber they know no directions and stuff be right around corner but they don't know and worse of all I went check out and I still have no receipt of my stay and I don't play that I want my stuff before I leave , their night audit wasn't there so my card still has hold I'm pissed off

The place was conveniently close to the venue we attended a show at and walking distance to Lincoln Rd for restaurants and shopping. The hotel itself was excellent along with the courteous staff. Thank you for making our stay wonderful. We will visit again!

Overall it was a great stay and it exceeded my/our expectations. Staff were friendly, informative, and eager to help. Special thanks to making my/our stay so much fun and memorable is Leonel (Leo), Rooftop Bar Manager, who went over and above in hospitality; Facundo, friendly, dependable Bellman, and Denise, shuttle driver and tour guide who was so warm & friendly, informative and eager to accommodate us by taking us to and from our destinations and sharing her knowledge of tourist areas was a big plus!

The entire staff was so wonderful. In a great location. I would highly recommended.

The staff was incredibly helpful and kind! The amenities were amazing from a beach bag in our room to Denise, the shuttle driver. Kimpton Palomar has thought of everything! I would happily stay there again!

Juan checked us in. He was great. The manager also assisted with check in and accommodated us for being silver status members. Property is squeaky clean and tons of amenities. The pool is lovely, as well as their bartender. They have everything you need. Will return. Thank you Kimpton for such a great stay.

Finding the access to the property was a bit confusing. When we finally pulled up to the valet parking area the attendant wasn't that friendly or helpful. The check-in was seemless, however, and the service agent got us an early check in, which we very much appreciated. The room was alright. Don't like that there is no complimentary water in the rooms. Paying $9/$10 for a bottle of water that's usually about $2.50 at Walmart is ridiculous. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was ok. What I didn't like was that our balcony was not private. The mesh seperators really killed the vibe of having a romantic moment. I'd rate this stay a 6/10

The staff are SO very nice from the two ladies at the front desk, to the lady that drove us in the little cart to the beach to the nice gentleman manager who poured our happy hour drinks. The bed might be the most comfortable we have ever slept in! The hotel doesn’t look like much from the outside, but there are so many perks and amenities. They also have beach chairs and towels. The rooftop pool is really nice too. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here. Did I mention their bikes? Did I mention there is happy hour

Overall the hotel was great with a very friendly staff. Free coffee in the morning and wine in the evening. However, they really don't have a restaurant and it was closed most of the time. They need to get a chef driving restaurant so that their guest don't have to eat at other hotel restaurants.

I loved this hotel. I was there on business for 5 days. Room was perfectly kitted out, not a crazy large property, and it was really quiet away from ocean. But only 6 dollars in an uber over to ocean. Free coffee in the lobby eaxh morning and happy hour drinks by their quiet rooftop pool in the evening from 5 until 6. They have a restaurant for breakfast but it wasnt opem any other times when we were there and apart from the pool bar, the hotel doesnt actually have a bar. However good reataurant across the road, and sevwral bars and clubs within 5 minute walk. Airport is easy - 20 minutes in a cab. Look out for the sign in the room telling you all of the things you can borrow from reception for your stay (including coffee machines). Staff are friendly and the valet parking guy was amazing. Would definitely stay here again. Would definitely stay here again.

The staff here is so friendly and helpful! The only disappointment is that the on site restaurant is currently closed and there aren’t good takeout options nearby.

Hotel is perfect! Couldn’t ask for better! However, the only thing I would ask for is longer roof top pool hours and an actual server at the bar!

I am checking out tomorrow. I chose this hotel because the website said it had 24 hour in room dining, along with a coffee and juice bar and food service at the roof top pool until 7 pm. When I arrived, I found out there was no food available at all. By the time I settled into my room, went to the grocery store, and got up to the pool, I couldn't even get a soda. I've stayed in Kimptons since the mid-1990s. This experience may make me rethink my future choices. I would have had a better stay at one of IHG's bargain hotels at the airport.
