Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Waterloo St. Jacobs

This was our first time staying at this property, and we loved how new it was. We appreciated the hot breakfast staying open till 10am every day, the free coffee in the lobby, and size of the fitness room. Will definitely stay here again in the future.

Great hotel, new installation, clean. Restaurant was good, service excellent! Great commercial equipment in the gym, very trendy. Although 3 out of 7 cardio units were out of order showing a lack of maintenance. When mentioned to a reception employee at 6 am, he didn't seem too concerned just bearly mentioned he would advise someone. I later sent a note to day staff and got a response that they would take care of it. If that is how that take care of the place, it's going to age fast. I would advise a meeting with maintenance staff and the morning cleark at the reception.

The check in and out was fast and efficient. The room was large and clean as was the bathroom. The staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. The dining room onsite was adequate but the menu was limited mostly to fast food such as burgers, chicken wings and sandwiches. The free included breakfast was adequate. We were disappointed that the pool didn't open until 9:00 a.m.

Amazing hotel; spacious room and very clean. To be honest, I was grumpy when housekeeping was loudly vacuuming the room next to mine at 8:30am. I know they have cleaning to do, but I would have loved to sleep longer. Breakfast had a variety of food, including waffle maker, eggs, premade oatmeal... The pool was nice, but it's only open 9am to 10pm, which meant I got very little time there.

Clean and quiet, friendly staff, nice breakfast. All-day coffee in the lobby made up for the abomination of a coffee maker in the room. :-)

The room itself was clean and in good shape. However, I was disappointed that they refused to accommodate my gluten, wheat, and dairy allergy during breakfast. We were disgusted with the pool. There was a thick ring of dirt around the pool. With the amount of dirt, it looked like the pool was not maintained at all.

We were pleasantly surprised by how clean and well kept the hotel was. Our room, hallway, elevator and lobby were immaculate. The pool was a good size, lots of options in the exercise room. The breakfast was one of the best we’ve had in a hotel for years. Lots of choices. It was also easily accessible to the local expressway. We will definitely return when we come back to the KW area😁

The property was quite nice of the room was very large. There were plenty of towels, and the staff was exceptional. Unfortunately, my bathroom was quite dirty. There was hair on the floor and in the tub there was dirt in the corners of the bathroom, and one of the whole bars was coming away from the wall.

Very clean hotel

The property itself was great. However, the walls were not very soundproof. We stayed in a room that was close to the elevator. The "bing" every time someone got off on the elevator was very loud and disrupted our sleep. Also, we could hear lots of noise/conversation in the hallway.

The room was huge, room 513. The beds were not comfortable, the mattress and the box that it was on was so squeaky when moving around. We both woke up with sore backs.

The soundproofing of the room is really terrible. You can clearly hear the neighbors talking, flushing the toilet, and other noises, which is quite awkward.

Apparently recently installed t.v., cable service in rooms. No guide on t.v. remotes, front desk was (after a 10 minute wait able to provide a paper with channels listed on it that a client/guest had provided but “that hadn’t been verified by staff”. Proved to be a frustrating experience while we tried to find ball game by going every channel. May be worth it to have a staff member make a laminated copy of channel guide for each room. There was another guest at front desk also trying to figure out channel guide so I’m sure it’s a question staff gets a lot? Other than that glitch, everything about our stay was perfect and our rating in all experiences would have been excellent

Overall decent stay and very affordable. Staff at front desk who helped us check in wasn’t friendly and welcoming. After handing me the room key, he did not wish us a nice stay or any greeting for that matter. The room itself was very clean but air conditioning unit was very loud and old. The pillows were thin and had 0 support so getting a good sleep was difficult.

Stayed for 2 nights at the hotel and it was a lovely stay. The rooms were clean and quiet, you couldn't hear your neighbors or anyone in the hallway which was nice. Very spacious room with a comfortable bed. The pillows however were super soft and gave minimal head support. Having an option for firmer pillows or extra pillows in the room would have been nice.

Nice spot near the famous farmers market with lots of parking. Room was spacious, nice sized shower, and bed was comfy. Only issues: the heater/fan in room was very loud especially at night. Could perhaps need maintenance?? and didn't allow us a solid night's sleep which was frustrating. The pillows were very flat, perhaps need replacing and originally a little skimpy on towels in bathroom. We had to ask for extras which they gave us.

There was a raging party in the room.next to me and I was kept awake from 1-3am with very little action taken by the staff. I begged to be put into another room for some much needed rest and they could not move me because they were allegedly full and so were all other hotels nearby. Despite several warnings from the front desk, the party raged on and the staff said there was nothing else they could do to stop it. The next morning when I complained again, they gave me a $25 gift card for my lost sleep in the room I pair $250 to get sleep in. I would not recommend this hotel to others or stay here again.

I always feel you can tell the quality of a place by how the staff can deal with problems. My son's allergies were acting up and I asked for help at the front desk. They were able to help me out which made a big difference in our stay. The Manager was great and I also wanted to thank Camilla from House keeping. You guys did a great job.

The staff were so kind and thoughtful. I got a text message 30 mins after checking in asking me if everything was okay in the room and if I needed anything. So nice.

Property rooms: spacious, clean, modern, very comfortable. Area is safe and lots of parking. Walmart and other stores close-by. Great farmer's market/farm animal petting area walking distance - check the hours before going. Mini putt and driving range about a 3 min drive away. Buffet breakfast so-so. Front desk staff is incompetent and caused a lot of stress checking in and out - their manager is their only saving grace. I booked this hotel around 6 months before our arrival date for $146 a night. Our flight arrival changed to 3.30 am in Toronto and by the time we would arrive at the hotel it would be around 7am on August 27th. I wanted to make sure we would be able to go straight to our room with my 3 kids without waiting until the 3pm checkin time. I called a week before and again confirmed a few days before flying that I wanted to pay the extra night for a check-in on the 26th but would be arriving on the 27th AM. Everything was ok the staff said. We arrived to the hotel - not only did they cancel our reservation as a no show, they wanted to charge me over $100 more a night to rebook. They found no notes and had no idea. After about 45 min, I ended up with a reservation for $40 more and a room that was not guaranteed for our complete stay. The day before check out, I changed the primary cc on file to be charged. The old card was charged.The manager issued the refund (now had to wait 6-10 days) and for the inconvenience, the difference from our original booking.

While the environment was relatively okay and most of the staff were nice, pleasant & hospitable, the worst of my experience was with the only male staff who was on duty on the nights I stayed at the hotel. On the first night, I had stepped out to get something from my car only to be left hanging at the entrance by the rude fellow. Evidently, because it was late, the doors were locked. I did not have my card/key & rather than let me in, this dude looked up and ignored that I was at the door - in the cold- continuing with whatever he was doing. He eventually decided to let me in after I banged on the door. 2nd night, I needed a change of towels and called. It was him again. Told me I needed to come get them. Only to come down and be told i needed to bring the dirty ones before he could give me new ones. This silly fellow refused to give me towels and made me go up to bring the dirty towels down. It was the most frustrating experience & was a new one that I had to ferry towels around a hotel as though I didn't pay to lodge. I have stayed a Hampton Inn & Suites several times - in other cities and must say that this experience has put me off the brand. My last trip to Brantford was initially with Hampton in mind but I changed it last minute. While the other staff were pleasant, there was everytbing wrong with this guy who clearly has no business being in customer services. Secondly, breakfast at this hotel was sub-ar and needs improvement. Won't be staying here again.

The smell coming from the manure in the nearby fields was unbelievable. You could not use the air conditioner or you would pollute your room with the manure odour . Other that that the breakfast was very good and the staff nice.

Friendly staff, walking distance to St Jacobs market. Coffee and tea available all the time in lobby and good shower pressure and temperature. Will stay there again.

Walking distance to St. Jacob’s Market

The location was excellent for visiting St. Jacobs and accessing the bike trails. The parking was well lit, visible and safe. I loved the included breakfast and always-available coffee. But curiously the most notable things in my opinion were the elevators. Maybe I'm just so used to waiting minutes for an elevator to arrive, but here an elevator usually arrives in 15 seconds or less, even if you just miss one of them! Granted the place only has 5 floors, but I've definitely been to places with fewer floors that have slower elevators.

Breakfast menu was excellent - food was fresh - The breakfast room clean and well laid out - the staff very efficient.

It was new, clean and spacious. The hot breakfast was warm at best with little or no taste. Coffee was good.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Our upgraded room was large and cool, much appreciated on a hot summer day. Breakfast was mediocre, not a lot of variety, but what they did have was good.

We stayed one night at this hotel for the first time. The location is excellent. Shopping is just around the corner. We are also impressed by its quietness and cleanliness. The only reason we don't give it a 5 star rating is their breakfast is barely warm at 9:00 a.m., an hour before closing time. Overall, this hotel meets our needs and we would recommend it.

This hotel is amazing, staff are friendly and helpful, breakfast was plentiful and lots of options. Rooms are very clean and spacious. Next to St. Jacobs Farmers Market. Great location. Highly recommend this Hotel.

The hotel was wonderful! My only suggestion is to improve the breakfast situation. The food wasn’t necessarily bad per se, rather just a little bland and short on options. Room was amazing and staff were amazing too!

We liked everything about this hotel. We are repeat Hampton Inn clients. However, the breakfast in this hotel is not at par with the the other Hampton Inns where we have stayed. Most of the "hot food" were already cold, considering we came down to eat at 6:30.

It was probably the best Hampton Inn we have stayed in. Our room was nice and spacious and the staff were friendly and helpful. We also liked that there is a restaurant on site, and the service was very good. However, I would have preferred more choices on the menu.
