Easy access off the highway, overall Tru offers great properties, this one included. There was a musty smell in the hallways but the room was just fine. Shower and bath amenities were very good. For some reason, they only have large bottles of wine to sell to guests, kind of silly for a hotel that is off the highway and maybe you just want to have one glass of wine before bed. We had just traveled 10 hours and would be nice to have a glass to settle in.

Beatiful Hotel. Clean. Friendly staff. Beverage center welcoming. Breakfast delish. I was able to use the fitness room after 8pm and felt safe. They even have convenience store types of snack and sodas available at the main desk for purchase, no need to dig up loose change to pay. Will definitely stay again when I'm in town. Thank you.

This was a great facility. The hotel Was super clean and close to JMU so we got to everything quickly. Bed was comfy. We even had time to enjoy a few games of pool in the evening. The only thing that could use improvement is some new cue sticks. They were not great. Small thing to complain about ;). The workout area was nice and clean as well with a decent variety of weights and machines.

I recently stayed at Tru by Hilton and unfortunately, it was a rather disappointing experience. First and foremost, I was shocked at the state of the floors in my room; they were filthy and clearly had not been cleaned properly. This was not the level of cleanliness I expected from a hotel in your brand. Furthermore, I encountered a severe issue with my bed, as I discovered that there were bugs present. This is completely unacceptable and made my stay extremely uncomfortable. To make matters worse, the customer service was lacking from start to finish. I found the staff to be unhelpful and indifferent to my concerns, which only contributed to my disappointment. Overall, my experience did not meet the standards I have come to expect from Hilton properties, and I hope that these issues can be addressed for future guests.

Overall I liked the property. The only thing I would say is that my bathroom had a slight sewar smell (which was noticeable). Also, the bathroom mirror light had a small electrical trip. Also, the walls were thin and I could hear the conversation of the next door room. Other than those mentioned things, it was clean and a nice place to lay my head as I moved my daughter into JMU for her upcoming school year.

I liked the hotel is was nice but i didnt like the smooshy pillows and the mold in the bathroom sink The bed was comfy but the pillows were horrendous...overall it was a nice experience but i hated the pillows

I don’t really have anything to bad to say except please for the love of god GET NEW PILLOWS. They’re honestly horrible. I’ve never stayed in a hotel that had such lack of care to something so easy as this. And if there is a king size bed two pillow is just ridiculous and quite frankly pathetic. If you stay here bring your own.

Very loud. You can hear every door open and close at night. You can hear every footstep down the halls and in every room next to and above you. Room service is only provided every other day, not every day. There is only one office type chair in the room, very uncomfortable I might add, so you always have to sit on the bed. No microwave in the room. Upon entering the room found that the window shade did not function, called help desk and they said, sorry about that, we will let maintenance know, either they didn't tell maintenance, or maintenance did not care because it was never fixed. If you are a light sleeper, find another hotel.

Very clean and easy check in. Breakfast selection was nice. Cons: very small rooms with no closets only external hooks we were in a king. Barely enough room to walk around bed. Could hear highway noise and could clearly hear people in bedroom next to us through bathroom. They were not being overly loud or anything either

This hotel gives the absolute worst customer service I have ever dealt with my life. The front desk staff is horrible. I do not recommend staying at this property. You’d be better off in the other find properties in the city than this one.

I stayed here while in town for my daughter’s softball tournament, the room was perfect, location was convenient to food and shopping and even with being right off the highway was quiet. Only complaint is only one ice machine (that I could find) and mini fridge in room offered little chill and no freezer otherwise check in and extending the room last minute was very smooth. Would stay again if back in this area.

Overall a very nice stay, though the rooms we stayed in were not as new as some of Tru hotels we have stayed in, and could use a little maintenance, especially around the shower area where the water is most prevalent, they were still nicer than some hotels we have stayed at. The Staff was friendly and helpful, the outside property was well kept, as was the common areas. The cooked Breakfast left something to be desired, as the eggs were not good. Pancake maker was nice though, and the selection of breads/muffins and bagels was typical. Would stay again without a doubt.

I loved the handicapped bathroom. Very safe and well thought out. Breakfast was excellent and high tech dispensers were fun. The service and cleaning was excellent. Towels were a little rough.

Tru by Hilton never disappoints, rooms are always clean, quiet, and no odd odors. Temperature control is always good and I’ve never experienced weird dampness or humidity at a Tru location. Everything else about a hotel can be fine but if the room temp/humidity are off and there’s a funky or mildew smell, I’d rather sleep in my car tbh. The breakfast was just ok. Basic options, not great, but clean and orderly. Coffee was bland and tasteless. Other than that I really love the abundant toiletries in the shower and sink areas, including hand soap, hand, lotion, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner that all have a lemon sugar scent. That’s a huge help when you’re tired and just want to hop in for a hot shower and everything is there waiting for you.
