It’s an old building on a hill but the inside is nicely renovated and in a good state. Rooms are nice and clean and beds are very good. Breakfast is nicely done on request the English or Scottish way. Service is excellent and staff (Terry) is very friendly and helpful.

Terry and Lynne are amazing hosts nothing and I mean nothing is too much trouble . Breakfast was amazing and plentiful. And everywhere was spotless. Car parking wasn’t an issue ample places to park safely also . Would highly recommend this lovely hotel and will certainly return if passing this way again.

David and Joan were superb hosts. They were excellent at making suggestions of where to go, things to see and do and places to eat. The hotel was the most beautiful old heritage home, exquisitely appointed and spotlessly clean. Would recommend to anyone wanting to come to the area!

The Hill hotel has very tasteful décor, is very well maintained and the owner is very friendly and helpful. We had a large room and tasty hot breakfast. My only little problem was that we had some difficulty working the new ecco shower.

What a find,this hotel is .it's nicely situated good car park ,clean bright and extremely comfortable .Terry and Lynne are wonderful hosts ,nothing is too much trouble for them ,and they are always friendly and helpful .we have stayed here three times before and would not consider staying anywhere else .

We had the most amazing stay at The Hill Hotel! Terry and Lynne were wonderful hosts - so very welcoming and helpful!! Breakfast was delicious. And the location was perfect…so close to the train station.

The Hill Hotel is located in a quiet location, but is only a 10-15 minute walk into the center of Dumfries. The building interior has been lovingly restored, and is very clean. The owners are very friendly and gave us lots of great advice about places to visit in the surrounding areas. A very good breakfast too! Highly recommended.

We can’t fault the cleanliness of the room and the whole hotel. Breakfast was excellent with great choices. Orders put in the night before and cooked breakfast ready at our chosen time. Staff treated us like long lost friends and nothing was too much bother. We were there in a heat wave and were regularly offered bottles of cold water and there was a fan in the room. The large bed took up most of the room and was very comfortable.
