UCLA Lake Arrowhead Lodge

This is an excellent mountain lodge hotel. It's within easy walking distance of the trail around Lake Arrowhead. We could see the lake from our room. The food for breakfast, lunch and dinner was excellent and included great children's options. I was there with a party that included 2 children. We were easily able to stay in one of the chalets, which had two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a couch that folded out into a bed for the kids. The area around the hotel is gorgeous. There's good hiking and star gazing and you can roast smores around a fire at the lodge. The lodge also has a common room with a huge fireplace and a piano and (while we were there) a beautiful Christmas tree decorated in UCLA colors. We also enjoyed the indoor hot tub. We loved this place and plan to return. Highly recommend.

Lots of options for everyone. Walking trails, relaxing pools and jacuzzi, fire pit and beautiful lodge to name a few things!

We visited for the first time and had an amazing time. The grounds are beautiful, big rooms, great food and service. The kids loved the hot tub and arts and crafts activities. The village is close by with great food and shopping as well. We will definitely be back.

It was a nice place for retreat with family. Suggest the lodge to add some Christmas lights or street light near the parking area or outside, it is tough to navigate the room especially at night in such a cold weather with young children. It is very dark outside.

We liked the fact that it wasn’t crowded, not too many people were there. The staff was friendly, accommodating. The Tavern was a good option for dining and prices were reasonable. The kids loved all of the amenities like pickleball, basketball courts, indoor spa. Also loved walking around the facilities and going on the trails.

This is truly a hidden gem. Never knew this place existed. It has so much to offer for the whole family. This place is huge and gorgeous. Some of the amenities: Hiking, swimming (outdoor pool and large indoor spa) basketball, tennis , pickle ball (equipment included) 24 hr gym (with peloton) a zen deck (beautiful lake view),a tree deck ,rock climbing , baseball field, fireplace in every room, deck with table outside front door of your room, the cutest lobby with coffee and tea along side of an abundance of seating and multiple fireplaces,weekend events for the family (movies and crafts) a large outdoor fire pit with somore kits , omg so much more. Now on to the staff, by far in the top five best I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Everyone was so genuinely kind and so helpful. Ok but the biggest surprise was the amazing food! Not a huge selection but , a three option four course meal that far surpasses most all restaurant I have been to. We recently went on a Disney cruise that is know for great food but has nothing on this culinary genius they have in the kitchen. I can not wait to go back.

Expedia says that the hot tub is open till midnight. At location it's only from 6:00 to 6:00. My gym key didn't work so I wasn't able to work out. But other than that I had a great time there at the location

It's a little drive from the restaurants, shopping in Lake Arrowhead, but has its own restaurant where breakfast, lunch and dinner are served. I found the restaurant pricing to be pretty high with limited options. The lodges are very well appointed with clean bathrooms and fireplaces.

Really cool set up, very friendly staff. A few ants in the bathroom, which was gross, but otherwise clean and nice. Would recommend and go back.

We recently spent six nights at the UCLA Lake Arrowhead Lodge. The surroundings were serene, and the accommodations were comfortable, making it an ideal spot for a family retreat. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring our needs were met throughout our stay. However, we encountered a persistent squeaking noise in our room each night. Upon discussing this with the staff, we discovered that a rodent had made its way into the attic. While this was an unexpected disturbance, the management took prompt action to address the issue. Overall, despite this minor hiccup, our family enjoyed the experience, and we appreciate the staff’s responsiveness. We look forward to returning, confident that such issues will be resolved.

The facility has a lot of charm and the staff are very friendly and helpful. It’s very peaceful and quiet. The facility has tennis courts, volleyball court with equipment provided and a pool if the weather is right. The chalet style was quaint, The wood burning fireplace was really cool and useful during the snow flurries. Good shower pressure. Conveniently located to the highway, so it was easy to get to the village. No TV, so bring your device to stream if needed. Internet is strong. The room itself is a noisy whenever the heat turned on at night. The couch seemed a but dusty so we covered it with a bed sheet. Mattress were comfortable, toiletries were nice . The chalet were were in definitely could benefit for updating, and brighter lighting. Would recommend

It was freezing cold and the heater wasn’t working. Also, there was no hot water, we couldn’t shower. Hotel staff refused to give us a discount for the inconvenience.

UCLA Lodge lives up to the hype. It’s a special place that lets family and friends come together to decompress from technology and just be together. Rooms are big, the Main Lodge is inviting, and the entire area is designed to maximize nature and outdoor beauty. Amazing. Definitely coming back.

The staff was friend, the amenities were great; however, because the lodges share a wall they are very loud. We can hear the neighbors at night and the floor is very noisy when you are walking.

The property was really beautiful. Dinner and breakfast were superb! We booked a two bedroom chalet. We stayed at Buckthorn Room 70. It was nice and clean. We did have a rough night sleeping because the heater in our chalet was making creaking and clicking noises periodically that would last about a minute at a time. It was bearable in the day because we didn’t stay long indoors but at night the noise kept waking us especially the first night. Perhaps that can be checked before the next guests arrive. Also, this next experience wasn’t in your control but would we would like to share it. the walls/door that separated us from chalet 69 was rather thin. The guests at Rm 69 made so much commotion on Sunday morning before they left. They were very loud, were shouting/screaming so much. At one point someone seemed to be manhandling/throwing furniture or maybe their luggage. It was a bit unsettling and considered reporting them at the time but decided not to. Oh and the kids liked the game room and requested to have more board games. Other than those two incidents, our stay and the staff were very pleasant. We would definitely return! Hopefully with quieter neighbors and quiet heater. 🙂

Thin walls. You can hear the neighbors talk. Had music playing before 10pm and they had us turn it down

Rooms are interconnected and so we couldn’t sleep because the other rooms guests were socializing all night. Furnace heater was so loud it kept waking us up. Overall, its an okay hotel but not worth the cost.

Checking in was easy- Ruth was the best, with the help of Tatiana. Dining options - food was great. Clean and safe. Will definitely stay here again .

One of the best experiences of my life! Lake Arrowhead UCLA Lodge is truly a hidden gem—a sacred sanctuary nestled in the mountains. From the moment you arrive, the staff welcomes you with warmth and genuine hospitality, making you feel right at home. The accommodations are cozy, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed to blend seamlessly with the surrounding nature. Every detail reflects a commitment to comfort and quality, preserving the lodge’s charm and excellence for over 40 years. The food is exceptional—fresh, flavorful, and prepared with great care. Whether it’s a hearty breakfast or a delicious dinner, every meal feels nourishing and satisfying. What makes this place so special is its tranquility. It’s a retreat from the noise of everyday life, offering a peaceful and rejuvenating experience. I’m grateful for how well they’ve preserved its essence over the decades, keeping it a place of true relaxation and connection. I can’t recommend it enough!

Nice property but the restaurant was disappointing. No real service unless you go to front desk. Rooms are smelly and no TV which seems more of a cheap move than a sense of nature. Over priced for the what you get. I thought it would be a lot nicer. I recommend you stay in Big Bear at the Holiday in which is a full service Hotel. This seems more of a motel feel.

We requested rooms nearby and were delighted to receive not only side-by-side accommodations but also a private area just for us. Tatiana at the front desk provided exceptional service, making our stay even more enjoyable.

The property was very quite that was a huge plus but very dark if checking in late afternoon. Our room was on a high incline so caring luggage was definitely a challenge

Liked the friendly staff at the front desk and the delicious buffet breakfast.

They are just not prepared to offer hospitality to their non-student guests. Check in was a major endeavor taking 20mminutes on a reserved room. Power went out, and they had no alternative or back up plans. Since power is out very frequently, I asked them for a for a list of restaurants and establishments that had back-up generators, They said "What a good idea" but had none. I was surprised that there wa sno TV whatsoever. It was NCAA Football Championships. They told me since 25% of their guests are students, they chose not to have TV's. What about the higher-paying 75%. I had a flat tire, they had no references for me to call. I'm surely not the 1st person who needed car service. All electricity was out 1st night, but they still charged mt "Resort Fee" for hot tub & fitness center even though they were down. The next night, a group of 14 teens took over the fitness center & hot tubs. Posted rules clearly state no more that 6 to 8 people in area and must be 18 and over. When I complained in person to front desk, the man laughed and sai "I know - huh?" Their food menu is ridiculous. One item pre night that is not even mainstream. My son did not eat here all 3 nights - doesn't eat liver of mushroom steak. Bar menu even worse.Why not burgers, dogs, microwaved pizza, fries, etc for kids and the other 90% of your paying guests? Very, very bad experience and waste of $250/night. Nice location - hope they can get their stuff together soon.

Overall is good. Only the problem is to eat. You have to make reservation online to enter the restaurant. In the arrowhead village also difficult to get food. You have to wait 2-3 hours to get a table
