What a great little gem of a hotel. First of all, Lauren could not be any nicer and easier to work with. This place has "hip" vibe, and lots of great extras and details. The amenities room is great, we loved our chilled bottle of water waiting in the fridge, the robes, the products in the bathroom were nice and smelled amazing. The keyless entry was nice especially because we arrived at night. The only bummer was that the cute little camper with coffee and burritos etc., didn't open a little earlier for a weekend. We would have loved to partake but had to hit the road around 7:30 a.m.

Loved the Canteen, with access to a water refill station and anything we might have forgotten. Just a note for those traveling and staying here, due to the nature of the property, there are times that you can hear your neighbors, so courtesy is absolutely key.

There was a small canteen onsite with snacks, drinks and local products for purchase. Our room was well decorated, the shower was massive and the bed was very comfortable! I forgot to pack a few medications for this trip and had them shipped to the hotel. Lauren was very helpful during this process and even had the package put into our room since we were checking in later that day. The hotel is walking distance to several restaurants and coffee shops. This is definitely a great place to stay for a night or week-long trip!

Nice owners. Cute room with high quality linens and mattress. Modern decor. Very dirty room - found previous guest contact lens and floor under bed and cabinets were filthy where I found a used tissue, dead bugs and tons of dirt and dust....looked like these areas had not been cleaned in weeks/months. Also stained comforter either coffee or body fluids.

This retro motel isn't what most roadside motels are like. The rooms have been refurbished and updated. The entire place had sort of a hipster mod feel. We stayed in a double Queen suite. Perfect amount of roominess for a family of 4 traveling with snow ski gear. Beds were comfy and clean. Bathroom was clean and roomy. Communication was top notch, always available by text to respond to a need. Service was great, always responsive when we needed something. Though not a full kitchen, we were still able to cook in our crockpot. Roomy kitchen countertop with small fridge, microwave, and some dishes/flatware. Even had a couple of board games and puzzles in our room. Del Norte is a great little town. Will definitely stay at this little roadside jewel again when we come to ski Wolf Creek.

We absolutely loved the Mellow Moon! We stopped by Del Norte after going to the Great Sand Dunes. This place is a gem, very clean, smelled like a spa, great vibe. Just a short drive from the Rio Grande. Would highly recommend!

What a great surprise to find this gem! Historic, Route-66 feel with chic design touches, tucked into a charming little mountain town. Great experience and perfect stop on our way to a wedding in Durango. Highly recommend!

We normally stay with friends in our visit to Del Norte, however plans had changed and I had always driven past Mellow Moon and was excited to book a stay here for a few days. We were expectedly happy with the decor, cleanliness and hospitality. Lauren was incredibly helpful and attentive which you don’t get at most places. The room provided everything we needed and right in town a walk away from local eateries, coffee shops and lite shopping. A hike or scenic drive is a short distance away. The beds were so comfy and we appreciate the eco friendly options available. Please do yourself a favor and book a stay here and check out the gift shop area. Thanks MellonMoon!
