The Reef Island Resort Mactan, Cebu

Other then the restaurants on site there weren’t many other options available in closing walking distance. Had to take a care to get off the premises. Rooms were very clean and had a good gym with a beautiful view. The pool is small and not enough chairs for then inner of people this place holds.

The hotel offers beautiful seaview the moment you step into the lobby. The staff were always around to help even with the smallest of requests. All staff were polite and extremely service oriented. The king bed is very comfortable and the room is clean. What we didn't like was the half hour limit for the use of the recreation room and that use of other facilities like the kayak was payable at high charge. Usually resorts offer these amenities as part of the room charge. The breakfast spread is sumptuous, and the pork adobo deserves special mention.

The hotel pools and areas are absolutely stunning. The stuff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Shout-out to Mark for helping with the tours and Clyde for making our water-activities so fun!! The hotel breakfast is a 100000/10, you will not want to leave!!

Parking lot is convenient just across the entrance but it’s dirt road and gravel, staff is excellent, very helpful, rooms are clean, good beds and pillows, great bathrooms, most of the beach is great, good swim are for snorkeling

Exceptional property Staff is great the views and the gym are 10/10 breakfasts really good. I would highly recommend to anyone

The hotel is beautiful with very friendly and helpful staff. John from concierge and Rosie at the front desk made our stay even more memorable. The beach and pool are stunning, the breakfast had a good variety and good food and the hotel offers a free shuttle into Newtown in the evenings which was perfect for dinner. We would definitely come back to stay.

Nice property customer service could be re-visited, upon checkin we where told 4 times that only two bottles of water per day are included in the room charge, I wasn’t expecting more that two to be complementary, then at dinner we where told that asking for extra chilli sauce was also a chargeable item and the bar is only open Thurs - Sunday

Clean room, amazing staff, very nice

I wish I had more time to use the facilities while staying at The Reef. It truly is a beautiful and modern property. I love that it is an eco friendly resort. My only issue was that in my room, the air conditioning unit was leaking water. Not a few drops, but in the middle of the night an actual downpour of water. The water leaked into my suitcase and wet my items as well. This problem must keep happening as when the AC is not on and you enter the room, the room smells of mold terribly. I have an allergy to mold and this triggers me sneezing and being uncomfortable. The staff was very friendly, this was my only complaint but a quite big one.

아이와 함께 2박3일 보냈어요. 물도 잘내려갔어요. 청결하게 관리잘되어있었어요 다만, 조식후 방에 들어가니 청소하고 계셨고. 급히 마무리하고 나가시는데 변기솔을 손으로 짜더니 그손으로 수건을 주고 가셨답니다. 그걸보고 놀랐지만 이렇게 다들 어느 호텔이든 안볼때 청소를 이렇게 진행하나 싶어서 말 안했어요. 수건을 못쓰겠드라구요. 모든 걸 다그런 손으로 만졌을듯. 그런위생개념이없어 후진국 호텔은 다그런듯싶네요

Das Zimmer war modern und sauber, aber nur mit einem schmalen Austritt statt einem Balkon. Das Wasser in der Dusche lief nicht richtig ab und trat ins Bad aus. Das Hotel selbst ist ein schwarzer Klotz mit zwei Flügeln, die nur durch die Lobby im Erdgeschoss miteinander verbunden sind, so dass die Wege aus dem Nebenflügel lang sind. Zum Rauchen wurden wir in die dunkle Tiefgarage geschickt, nur um uns am nächsten Tag unfreundlich anzufahren, dies sei nur der „Regen-Raucherbereich“ und der eigentliche Raucherbereich sei komplett auf der anderen Seite des Hotels am Strand. So ein Aufhebens um das Rauchen hatten wir auf den Philippinen nur in diesem Hotel, und ich habe Verständnis für ausgewiesene Raucherbereiche, aber nicht so. Die Mitarbeiter and der Rezeption waren aber freundlich. Der Strand ist vom Hotel durch eine breite Asphaltstraße getrennt, die allerdings nur zum Hotel gehört und mit Pylonen für Autos gesperrt ist, so dass man sich fragt, wer auf die Idee kam, dort eine Straße hinzubauen statt Sand aufzuschütten. Der eigentliche Strand ist steinig. Das Frühstück hat zwar eine gute Auswahl, die Location ist allerdings nicht einladend - will man Meerblick, kann man sich nur in einen Glaskasten setzen, in dem es akustisch sehr laut und hallend ist. In Laufweite vom Hotel ist gar nichts, nach Mactan Newtown mit Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Restaurants muss man 10 Minuten Auto fahren. Alles in allem würde ich das Hotel nicht weiterempfehlen.

룸 들어가기 전까진 너무 깔끔하고 로비에서 부터 나기 시작하는 비누향기, 직원들의 친절함 등등 모든 것이 좋았어요. 그런데 룸 들어가자마자 코를 찌를 듯한 머리 아플 정도의 쉰내?가 났고 바로 룸 교체를 신청했어요. 바로 미안하다고 바꿔준다고 할 줄 알았는데, 자기들이 확인해 본다며 로비에서 거의 20분을 기다리게 했고, 미안하다는 말도 없이 훨씬 낮은 층의 룸으로 바꿔주었습니다. 바꿔준 룸에 처음 들어갔을 때는 냄새가 나지 않았지만 조금 시간이 지나자 같은 냄새가 나기 시작했어요. 에어컨 관리가 전혀 안되는 것 같습니다. 그리고 복도에서 너무 시끄러운 소리가 3박 내내 났고, 바람소리도 무서울 정도로 너무 크게 들렸어요... 세부에 다시 간다면 다시 묵을 것 같지는 않네요..

PROS Brand new, clean, strong security and kind staff. CONS The infinite pool is a little far from real sea Housekeeping only upon a request (If you don’t request, they will never care about your room!!!)

マクタン島のリゾートエリアにあるリゾートホテル、コンドミニアムと合築の100室を超える大きな高層ホテル。 レセプション前のロビー、そこからインフィニティプール越しの海までの景観の作りは素晴らしい。 部屋もリゾートホテルらしく充分な広さと設備水準。 2泊させていただいたが、環境を考えてなのかベットメイキングがなかった 周辺のまちまで距離があるので徒歩で外に出ることは難しく、食事もホテル内のレストランですいただいた。

It was a nice hotel. Very clean and comfy. Nice bed and bedding. We were given a free upgrade for our first stay. Only complaint is the fees for water sport activities. Almost double in some cases when compared to Shangri-la and Costabella where we also stayed during our 2 week vacation. No cable tv. Only Netflix and YouTube. The staff were kinda enough to let us use one of their log in accounts. I was hesitate to use my personal account on their wifi.

Pros - up there with the best hotels I have stayed in my life - lovely decorated rooms. Very spacious - really nice swimming pool - nice snorkelling area, not the most amazing fish but decent - excellent breakfast. Staff remembered what you liked. Wonderful banana pancakes! - really good quality gym - helpful staff. I asked to move rooms at 11pm due to noisy neighbours and they were more than happy. Helped me move my luggage - great views from balcony - free drop of in mactan new town Cons - expensive restaurant (as expected). But can walk or get free drop of in town centre. Honestly this is a fantastic hotel. I would book here again if I return to mactan

Breakfast was good, service was great too. TV wasn’t working at times which was a shame but the view from the room was lovely

Stayed for 4 days, most of it was pleasant. The room was comfortable and clean, the pool was great (as a result chairs are hard to come by during busy hours), and the breakfast spread was good as well. Gym was pretty well equipped as well, although it gets quite hot in there. My main gripe was that the wifi in my room was basically unusable, and I had to rely on my phone data.

Great property ! Great location , service and staff. Especially front desk - Louise, Rose and Chay ! I would say that everyone working in the hotel - including security was real nice . Highly recommend !

This place was amazing. The staff MC,Mark,Louise,Cedric and Shay helped me when I had any issues and over performed their duties. This place is outstanding and I’m really impressed with the staff. This is by far my favorite Hotel in the Area.

My stay here was excellent. The customer service was great.. even when there was customer service complaint the manager fixed the situation quickly and responded in a timely professional manner. The resort is beautiful. I will definitely be returning and I definitely recommend

The whole establishment did everything possible to make the stay enjoyable. Nothing was too much trouble with all staff working hard to help. Thanks Glenn and team for a very enjoyable time

Staff were excellent and always available to provide a service.

The building and ambience was good however, other aspects are lacking. Check in time is 3pm however the beach is only until 5pm. The check out time is 12noon, they will call you 30minutes prior so most of the guest that are going to check out will be waiting in the lobby queuing only to checkout because only 1 person is doing it. I waited in the lobby for more than 30minutes just to check out.

My wife and I decided on the last minute to include Cebu in our Asian Travel visiting from Canada. A fried of mine who is base out if Cebu City and works as Medical Director offered his corporate contact at another 5 star resort. The discounted price was actually lower than The Reef. However, getting answers from our inquiries went by unanswered or very delayed. In spite of the attractive pricing, we decided to look for another property. Mr Joshua Lumapas was excellent in his response time and offered suggestions on how to make our visit even more memorable. The client engagement was quick, concise, and very approachable. He made its very easy decision to choose The Reef at that point. Upon arrival at the property, I had the pleasure of meeting and engaging with Mr. Glenn Ylanan and Miss Rose Brusas. It set the tone foe what would be a very memorable weekend. Both Mr Ylalan and Miss Brusas made my wife and I very welcome by their engaging smile and wonderful service. We wished we had more time at the resort to enjoy the view and the hospitality. All 3 stellar employees are excellent brand ambassadors of your company. While a lot of what they exhibited is innate to their personalities, I am sure the training and culture provided by Management has a lot to doing with it. We look forward to our next visit and experiencing more of the professionalism and welcome from employees like Glenn, Rose, and Joshua.

The only issue I faced is the front disk assistant. Upon checking in, she was asking for my booking confirmation. Going through several countries in my travel this time, I mad booking with several agencies. So I had a hard time finding out which one I made this booking with. So I asked if she can tell me which travel agency was the booking done with!! She replied Expedia. No im having problems with phone reception, so I asked her ( if you see my reservation and n your system, why do you need to see the confirmation #, my name and my reservation are there and you see it, she replied, it’s is the hotel policy. Stoped and time consuming i think. Lesson, Always have your booking confirmation ready when checking in

Our room was a "King" but the bed was definitely more of a queen size. It was relatively clean but did not offer room service during out stay. The pool, beach, and restaurants were the highlights. Infinity pool with a perfect view of the beach. The beach was great for snorkeling but I would recommend buying your own snorkeling set with shoes due to the higher rental price at the hotel. The Kitchen offered great food for a reasonable price. I would recommend adding the buffet breakfast. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and service. The location was less than ideal. It was far from convenient store or any thing else. A taxi is required to go anywhere. It also didn\'t help that the gate to the hotel was tricky to find. Luckily most of our taxi drivers knew which gate was open/closed.

Great hotel, location not the greatest due to congested traffic.

Beautiful new hotel. We upgraded to an ocean view and it was lovely. Spa services were very good and reasonable price. The staff were very attentive. Not a very walkable property, cab rides were required to go anywhere.

Getting to the hotel you pass by slummy neighbor. The hotel location is by the ocean but it is far from any restaurant, shopping or entertainment facilities. There’s not a shuttle to take you to a nearby mall where there’s plenty of restaurants, shops and entertainment.

スタッフの対応、食事共によかったです。 ただ、ホテル周辺には何もなく出かけるには不便でした。ショッピングの帰りのタクシーでは、ホテルまでの道順をこちらで案内しないといけませんでした。 ドライバーは、ホテルがどこにあるのか知りませんでした。 タクシーはぼったくりとかありませんでしたが、Googleマップを常に見ながら乗車しないといいけないかと思われます。

The property was nice, our room was clean, we had a beautiful sea view. The staff were friendly andf offered excellent customer service! The breakfast was very good and the service was efficient. I would return to this hotel in a heart beat.

Disappointing social facilities. The lounge bar, advertised as open until midnight, was closed there was no access to any eating or drinking venue after 9pm in the evening. Very disappointing. The hotel is quite some distance from any other hotels or bars. The staff were all absolutely delightful, very friendly and helpful and the manager did his best to ameliorate the issues we raised however it was beyond his control. The daytime facilities were excellent, beautiful swimming pool, gymnasium and eateries etc. easy access to the beach with lots of activities on offer (for additional cost). Breakfast excellent.

インフィニティプールやプライベートビーチが素敵すぎるのはもちろん、ホテルスタッフの方々が全員素敵な人で、とても親切でした！！部屋もホテル側がアップグレードしてくださり、湯船付きの広い部屋で過ごすことが出来ました。ホテルにはレストランが2つとパン屋が1つだけなので、ご飯は外で食べてもいいかな、とは思いましたが、朝食はとても美味しかったです！！！また泊まりたいと思うホテルでした。

The property and the location itself is very nice. They dont have room service. You cant order food inside the room. Food at the restaurant is very tasty,The staff and people working there are friendly.

Brilliant worth 6 stars if more .we were promptly checked in without delays by staff who recognised us on passed visits . I loved to know their names but I forgot . We were 2 Filipinos & 1 crazy British white guy lol I didn’t get the rooms I reserved but the replacement rooms were lovely. We ate in the Bakery some very nice meals in the evening .then spoilt for choice in the kitchen breakfast buffet

We had a great quick weekend getaway at The Reef. Spacious room, great view. The only downside is the limited dining options. Even if there are 2 restaurants, the menu assortment is not that wide.

Excellent place to stay! Fantastic view of the ocean, very clean room, bed was very comfortable and well maintained facility. The staff were very welcoming and very helpful. Breakfast buffet had so many varieties to choose from. This hotel is highly recommended, hands down a 5 star hotel. Thank you.
