Microtel Inn Suites by Wyndham South Hill

The pool was out of service but that fact was nowhere to be found on Hotels.com and it's one of the reasons I chose this hotel. Upon checking in (very late check-in) the front desk clerk seemed to have trouble finding my reservation and just took my word for it that I paid (I did). What was odd is that he just handed me my keys. Didn't tell me the room number, the floor or make any attempt to direct us to the elevator. I thought that was odd and unprofessional. Our double queen Room was kind of small (even my kids noticed), but clean, and after a very long and hot drive, comfortable. Breakfast was very nice, with a fairly wide variety of fresh offerings, both hot and cold. In fact, the breakfast was my favorite part of our stay. Hotel Management: Please don't change the breakfast at all! Also, get that pool fixed. My kids were very disappointed.

The property is nice. Elevator wasn’t working. I’m 65 yrs old and had to climb 4 flights of stairs. Ask for a quiet room. Was given 2nd floor and the option was 4Th floor. I took it because I didn’t want anyone over my head. Awful trip.

The indoor pool had a chemical malfunction causing the water to be a white cloudy consistency. There was also trash left in the pool area and abandoned wet clothes, broken goggles old food on old plates etc. in the room there was a sticky residue on the nightstand. Overall, staff was very nice, they were courteous and attentive when issues were brought to their attention.

I loved the property this is the third time me and my family have stayed here when we go to VA. The only issue I had was the fitness center, there was only one dumbbell in the fitness center.

The place was clean and convenient. However, the elevator was not operational and the staff was somewhat indifferent to the situation.

We had a great stay for a family of 5. Staff were very welcoming and helpful! The rooms were as described. The pool was a nice bonus! We will be back!

Have to leave a bad review because the elevator was not working and my room was on the 4th floor. Not only is it bad to have to walk up 4 floors but to get to the room and find out that the keys don't work and have to do it all over again. Other than that everything else was great.

Quiet and cute space. Reading nook in the window. I'm OCD so I did clean the bathroom again. For breakfast there was a waffle maker, crispy bacon, egg patties, biscuits, corn beef hash,muffins, bagels, toast, cereal, yogurt, milk, juices and coffee. Nice indoor pool and gym. Will be back!

Disappointing Stay with Several Issues We stayed at Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham South Hill for three nights and encountered multiple problems that made our stay very unpleasant. 1. The elevator was out of service during our entire stay, despite being told it would be fixed. My wife and I had to carry two large suitcases, a carry-on, and two backpacks up to the fourth floor using the stairs. When we asked if there were rooms available on a lower floor, we were told there weren’t any. The front desk did not offer any assistance either, which was very disappointing. Due to this, I hurt my back, and it’s still bothering me a week later. 2. We found a dirty, wet paper towel ball in the microwave, which was unhygienic and unacceptable. 3. The bathtub drain was clogged, and the water drained very slowly, making it uncomfortable to shower. 4. The fire stairwell was also dirty, and it didn’t seem like it had been cleaned in a while. 5. The pillows and mattress were incredibly soft and uncomfortable. They felt cheap and offered no support. 6. The window in the room couldn’t be opened to let in fresh air, which made the room feel stuffy. Overall, we were very disappointed with our stay and would not recommend this hotel.

Excellent hotel. Very, very clean. Nice and modern. The breakfast was pretty good. I will stay here again.

Nice place to stay. Bed was very comfortable. What was not ok was seeing a dead cockroach in the bathroom on the floor and hair collected in the corner of bathroom. Toilet tissue was nearly all used but did have one ready for holder. Kleenex tissue was not through slit, instead I had to pull the tissue up and through myself. Breakfast food needed replenishing and fresh.

Very clean, friendly staff excellent breakfast. Big step up from the last place we stayed at in Clarksville.

There was hair all over the bathroom floor and in the shower. I did not have enough hot water for a shower in the morning. And there was a smoke alarm that was placed right over the bed that blinked like a strobe light. Not a great day.

pool was extremely dirty .. lobby smelled like marijuana … the elevator smelled horrible it had throw up on the floor . Rooms were ok but could control the temperature. Just horrible.

Clean, comfortable and quiet. We stayed here the first night of our journey to Norfolk, Virginia. Convenient to the interstate with several restaurants nearby. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast!

The mattress has a large dip or hole in it on one side. If my wife wasn't so tired after our long day on the road, we would demand another room. I hope she will be able to sleep!

I was in a room and there was constant noise from the room upstairs.We got to our room at 1 am and there was constant moise until 3 and then the noise started again.We complained but the noise continued. It was a very uncomfortable trip and we ended up leaving early

The bed was terrible. Uncomfortable

Bed was pretty uncomfortable(stiff). Pillows were super thin as well. Everything else was amazing about the stay.

The room we stayed in didn’t seem to have very good water pressure in the shower. When we said something they acted like it was no big deal. But overall everything was pretty good

Last minute booking with Hotels.com and ran into a billing issue at the front desk. The Front Desk Staff was so helpful and resolved the issue, even having a manager come from home to assist. Such a great experience! Room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was ok had your basics, the coffee was exceptionally good. I would stay here again!

First of all it’s too damn expensive and secondly I was to check out at 11. While I was out they came in my room and packed my belongings. What kind of place is this? Then they do military discounts but won’t let me get it because of EXPEDIA. I wont use either now

I stopped off with a car load of my daughter’s college stuff as I just moved her out. Was nervous to leave the car in the lot but the person at the front desk said that she could see the car from her monitor and would watch until 6am when she leaves. She even checked to make sure my room had a view of my car. Thought that was so nice of her!! What great service! The room was nice and comfy, everything was very clean and the breakfast was very good.

We had a great stay for a family of 5. Staff were very welcoming and helpful! The rooms were as described. The pool was a nice bonus! We will be back!

The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. especially the lady that prepared the morning breakfast we did not get her name but she is an asset to your brand. That southern hospitality she assumed every bit of it. We enjoyed what she does to get those hot breakfast out at 4:30am and the conversations we great as well. Please let her know we appreciate her. The area is convenient however there were numerous issues during my stay. The lights would randomly turn off and were never fixed. Maintenance entered my room while I had a do not disturb sign on the door without contacting me which is a huge safety issue. I was very patient with these issues however the worst of these is that I was not given a print out of my statement when I left and was told that it would be emailed. I have been waiting for 2 weeks now for this and when I called to try to get it done the staff had me wait around for over an hour with no resolution or no work around and was rude and dismissive. I am not able to do expenses without this and have no idea what was billed.

Overall my stay was pretty good. The room was mostly clean ( tile grout in bathroom was gross and there were some oily handprints on the doors) The bed was comfortable and clean. The room was perfect size for me. I had a queen studio room. Shower was clean and water pressure great. The reception, however, was abysmal! The front desk lady was rude and unhelpful. I booked thru Expedia and didnt finsh the pre check in that Wyndham had sent me. So she kept telling me it wasnt her problem and i needed to take it up with Expedia. No ideas to help or the knowledge that i needed to finish my pre check in. Training issue? Idk but very rude. She did not greet me the first time i walked in or any time after when i walked by the desk. She was there both days and nvr acknowledged me, even when i handed my cards in! The breakfast was standard free fare but it was hot and fresh and the attendant was great.

Was on the way to Orlando and decided to stay here overnight. The property is conveniently locates. The room was big, clean and the hot breakfast was bery good. I would recommend the hotel and if i am in the area next time would stay here again

Microtel in South Hill was very clean, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent and the hotel is conveniently located adjacent to I-85.

I felt very safe here as a mom traveling with my son. The room and lobby were clean, staff was friendly, and breakfast was decent. Would stay again.

The property is new and clean. The free breakfast starts early and has a good variety. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was quiet, but is located in an area with stores, restaurants, and gas nearby.

Parking right by entrance to motel, wide open check-in area, breakfast area (great breakfast items), fast check in, elevator available for upper floors. Room is basic, two beds in our case, a table and a chair (by the window) overall, easy access off highway, dining options available close by and great buffet breakfast available. We did not use pool and exercise room.

Was on the way to Orlando and decided to stay here overnight. The property is conveniently locates. The room was big, clean and the hot breakfast was bery good. I would recommend the hotel and if i am in the area next time would stay here again

Check in was slow, room was good except for noise in middle of night, doors slams and trucks revving up. Lots of workers stayed and got up very early. Coffee pot tray was missing and so was our do no disturb. Last day, kitchen help did not arrive to fix breakfast. :(
