Make sure to get a garden facing room, better view and air conditioning units of neighboring bldgs are noisy. Room layout/design was great, 2 great espresso places across the street and a stones throw from the Thursday Farmer's Mkt. Their gym has "like new" equipment and able to get an adequate workout. I like a firmer mattress, but that's me.

Great boutique style hotel with nice finishes. Only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars on property conditions and facilities is because the gym doesn’t open until 9 am because it is over a guest room. Considerate of the guest room, but not a great solution for someone like me who wants to wake up and work out first thing in the morning.

This is a very attractive property. Te room was super cool. The rooftop pool area is very comfortable with good views. Extremely friendly staff. There is no better location in SLO. No, I am not related to the owner or staff.

Great location. I loved having bikes. The staff is very friendly. The spa is very pricey and so is the valet parking. So I got a massage outside of the hotel and also parked in a local garage instead of the hotel.

bar restaurant by the pool not open despite front desk saying it’s “supposed to be open” - 3 days in a row. Found a contact lens in our bed, gross. Charged $40 for a soda and beer despite showing a $30 beverage free/card? Handed vouchers for free beverages but then told they were only for one certain type of drink? the motion sensor in the bathroom when you walk in the restroom bothersome as it wakes everyone up in the middle of the night and is a blaring light at 2am. The nightlight on the wall had to be covered up with a stack of chairs. Noise from a corner DJ on the street at 8:30am. Not the stay we recall. Disappointed this round. Lots of incremental charges on our bill and the amenities list feels like a bait and switch. Help us with something that will convince us to return.

Best hotel in SLO. Great location to walk to anywhere downtown. Beautiful rooms. Bathroom could have used a second sink, but overall top notch. Loved the rooftop pool with bar. Very friendly staff. Will be back.

This was a great find! And it's nice to know it's part of the Bonvoy/Marriott family. Over the past several years, we have only stayed at The Granada Hotel while visiting SLO, unaware of this property. The location was perfect for us, as we like walking around town. With valet parking, it was easy to forget we had a car. The rooms were beautiful. The living garden used by the restaurant was lovely, the pool was refreshing, there were many beautiful sitting areas, and the food at the restaurant was delicious. The only annoying issue is that the property is cashless, so everything has to go to your room or a credit card. I tried to get a change for $20 to give the valet and housekeeping a tip, but they couldn't do that because they were cashless. We would have kept small bills on us if we had known that. Management should keep a little cash so that tips can be left by those trying to check out and get on the road.

The hotel was nice. The room was pretty and very clean. There needs to be better signage. We had to wander around the floor to find the elevator, the ice and the valet. The water heater for coffee and tea had water left in it from a previous guest. That was kind of gross.

Love how clean and neat the hotel is. My door and window to the patio weren’t working—I was not able to open it, other than that, love the layout and decors. Was not fond of the light above my head, the opening between the sinks.—I couldn’t figure out where all the light switches were at to turn off some of the lights. Lol Over all, very nice and would definitely go back.

I\'ve stayed here quite a few times but this time I am not sure I will rebook. Evidently Hotel Cerro now has new owners and management. We had no hot water for two days (boiler issue). I had to change rooms because the heating system made very loud noises periodically all night long. And the bars outside our rooms were very loud throughout the night. I think the hotel should have 1) told us when we checked in that they had no hot water 2) should always warn people of the bar noises (the SLO Brew Lofts make it very clear that the lofts can be noisy). The front desk staff was very kind but not always on top of our requests (forgot to call up our valet ticket; sent housekeeping to "fix" the noises in my room because they didn\'t have a maintenance person onsite, etc.) I am not sure I will stay here again. I hope the new management team can fix these issues because the Cerro is really lovely but the verdict is still out.

Great hotel, modern and very pretty. Clean and friendly helpful staff. However poor sound proofing of the rooms, you can hear everything from the bathroom and street noise. CAUTION do not stay on the street facing patio rooms as it sounds like you are in an actual dive bar.

The room is very clean and comfortable. It sits in the middle of SLO downtown, and is very convenient for shopping. The only problem is across from my room there is a pub, and it played loud EDM music all night until 1:30am, and their were talking so loud that I can hear them talking on third floor.

I stayed two nights, the first of which was on the Higuera side of the building which made sleep impossible until Mother's Tavern closed at 2am. Fortunately, the front desk was able to move me to a much quieter room on the other side of the property for the second night.

A great hotel in a perfect location. It's very well decorated- trendy but cozy. I got the impression online that this was a small hotel, but it's actually quite large. Our room was very spacious and the bed was super comfortable. Bars, restaurants, and shopping are all literally a stones throw away.

Stayed on the garden side this time and definitely found it to be much quieter!! Should still request earplugs just to be safe, as the first night our neighbors below us were a bit loud out on their porch for about 1 1/2 hrs. Not too late, so not a big deal this time.

First, while the hotel is located in a great place near all the restaurants, it is geared more towards a younger crowd. They do not take any cash, making tipping the valet hard to do. They cannot make change to make it easy to leave a tip to the maid. It is nuts. Second, there is no sign at all other than one far away from the gym and pool - especially the gym - and none for which way to walk to the valet. Everything is very poorly marked, so you have to go explore to find anything. Last, I had a so-called "city view" but it was of the HVAC units on the buildings in front of the hotel window. It was really ugly. And the room layout was odd - you walk into the bathroom - I kid you not! The TV was not made to be watched from the bed as it was off to the left of the bed. Last, the pool is around four feet deep, and trash cans in the bathrooms were around four inches high. Very expensive hotel, decorated nicely, but not comfortable.

I\'ve stayed here quite a few times but this time I am not sure I will rebook. Evidently Hotel Cerro now has new owners and management. We had no hot water for two days (boiler issue). I had to change rooms because the heating system made very loud noises periodically all night long. And the bars outside our rooms were very loud throughout the night. I think the hotel should have 1) told us when we checked in that they had no hot water 2) should always warn people of the bar noises (the SLO Brew Lofts make it very clear that the lofts can be noisy). The front desk staff was very kind but not always on top of our requests (forgot to call up our valet ticket; sent housekeeping to "fix" the noises in my room because they didn\'t have a maintenance person onsite, etc.) I am not sure I will stay here again. I hope the new management team can fix these issues because the Cerro is really lovely but the verdict is still out.

This was an ideal location for everything downtown. It was our central spot when visiting surrounding areas. The only let down was leaving two pieces of clothing behind and the housekeeping unable to locate them. That was a little disheartening seeing that I called as soon as I realized.

This was a great find! And it's nice to know it's part of the Bonvoy/Marriott family. Over the past several years, we have only stayed at The Granada Hotel while visiting SLO, unaware of this property. The location was perfect for us, as we like walking around town. With valet parking, it was easy to forget we had a car. The rooms were beautiful. The living garden used by the restaurant was lovely, the pool was refreshing, there were many beautiful sitting areas, and the food at the restaurant was delicious. The only annoying issue is that the property is cashless, so everything has to go to your room or a credit card. I tried to get a change for $20 to give the valet and housekeeping a tip, but they couldn't do that because they were cashless. We would have kept small bills on us if we had known that. Management should keep a little cash so that tips can be left by those trying to check out and get on the road.

The hotel staff was great. The property was really nice and in a great location. But ultimately the experience was one of the worst that my wife and I have ever had in a hotel. We were kept up until 3:30 am by the thumping music and screaming bar patrons directly across the alley. I don’t blame the people at the bar. I am, however, completely astonished that the hotel would put anyone in a room on that side of the hotel on a weekend night. Really too bad because our first impression was that the hotel was going to become our “go-to” in San Luis Obispo.

This is a really nice hotel and the staff is amazing. The drawback is the noise with the “City” view rooms. Bars across the street are open until 2am and are very loud. The staff was very accommodating and moved us to an interior room. It is such a shame this very nice hotel with great staff has such inconsiderate neighbors.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Cerro! Our room was very spacious, the rooftop pool was great and the onsite restaurant was quite good. My only complaint was charging me for drip coffee in the morning,$6 !! Honestly drip coffee at a hotel like this should be complimentary and ( in the hotel lobby) especially in the mornings… Overall we enjoyed our stay - conveniently located downtown and walking distance to many great spots!

bar restaurant by the pool not open despite front desk saying it’s “supposed to be open” - 3 days in a row. Found a contact lens in our bed, gross. Charged $40 for a soda and beer despite showing a $30 beverage free/card? Handed vouchers for free beverages but then told they were only for one certain type of drink? the motion sensor in the bathroom when you walk in the restroom bothersome as it wakes everyone up in the middle of the night and is a blaring light at 2am. The nightlight on the wall had to be covered up with a stack of chairs. Noise from a corner DJ on the street at 8:30am. Not the stay we recall. Disappointed this round. Lots of incremental charges on our bill and the amenities list feels like a bait and switch. Help us with something that will convince us to return.

I rarely take time to review hotels. This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. Possibly my favorite. Great room layouts, bed was very comfortable. The attached restaurant, Brasserie SLO, has fabulous food.

Not up to Autograph standard at all. Very disappointed. Bathroom shower was disgusting with black mold lining the shower drain along an entire wall. Valet locked key in our car and we had to deal with it because the hotel couldn’t figure out how to. Felt like hotel was being run by students without the requisite service experience for a hotel of this caliber.
