Ventura Grand Inn

Location was great but property was very old and out dated. Parking was difficult, noisy

I stayed at this property for 3 nights. This property provides just a basic hotel stay, basically a place to sleep while you spend your days on the slopes. The property is dated and can use a lot of upgrades and remodelling. Parking at this property is limited, definitely not enough spots for the number of rooms it has. During my stay there, it was quiet and I did not feel unsafe. The property manager was nice and helpful. Cleanliness was ok and can be improved.

This property appears to be a renovated motel from the 60's. The owners have done a fair job but parking and the entry way are hard to navigate as what was once a pool is now a fenced in nothing.

The only really problem I had with this hotel was the parking situation. I understand with heavy snowfall it is sometimes hard to get people to come and remove snow. But it Almost felt like the business didn’t care much and I also saw another man having to shovel out another persons vehicle because of the bad parking situation. I most likely will it return here because of the parking during a busy snowfall week.

Staff were friendly and pleasant. Room was clean and nicely equipped. Parking was limited but our 2 motorcycles fit. Would recommend.

Used to stay here when it was the Roadway. That was bad enough, but now much worse. Toilet was leaking. Bed on a metal stand that rocked annoyingly all night. Hot tub permanently out of commission. Never again will I try and save money and stay here

Considering the price was one of the lowest in town. I guess you get what you pay for. Property is in poor repair. Middle of summer and the swimming pool not useable. ice machine broken.

The front entrance is completely blocked under construction. there is not sign to redirect the back entrance. No table lamps, the refrigerator is moldy. Staff is friendly though.

No daily housekeeping, sheets had someone else's hair on them, floors were not clean...but staff was friendly. Pool and hot tub not open currently. Parking is challenging. See

Very cramped and noisy at night. Could hear other people conversing. Grounds are not kept up, pool is in shambles.

The property is very filthy with showers and bathtubs with visible molds. Area is close to restaurants and staff is nice but very poor hotel condition and it has a very strong poor smell

Overall the room was not bad. However, our bathroom was disgusting. It did not appear to have been cleaned before we checked in. Mold growing in the shower and ceiling. Would not stay here again, based off bathroom experience.

Not sure why this place has the good reviews it does, maybe I just got the worst room on the property. Motel itself is old and falling apart. The automatic front door to the office didn't even work even, and you had to manually push it open. Dog feces in the parking lot. As for the room, it was absolutely filthy and tore up. Floor was disgusting with hair and food bits. Walls had stains and what looked like bits of food stuck to it. Bathroom was obviously not cleaned from the last user, and was very beat up. Some of the towels had curly hairs buried in them. Just an overall gross experience. Oh, and get cable, for an area that gets a lot of storms its kinda silly to rely on a satellite service for your TV.

Poor amount of parking, no snow maintenance, noisy through walls. dirty floor, the bathtub had peeling paint, mold on shower walls, floor near toilet cracked and soft. Heater was very loud, refrigerator barely worked, walls needed paint. The room was a good size wirh comfortable beds.and sheets were clean..

This property is very convenient to the ski and city bus stop. The front desk clerk was very pleasant and helpful and the bed was quite comfortable and the bedding appeared clean. Unfortunately, the cleanliness of the room, in general was lacking. It seemed the room had not been cleaned or occupied for a while. The floor needed to be swept and mopped, and I cleaned the interior of the microwave and refrigerator, prior to use, as both were dirty. In addition the bathtub did not drain properly and the coating on the tub was peeling. I reported these issues to the desk clerk and was told my concerns would be passed along to the management. I also found it odd and inconvenient that there were no bedside table lamps, just 2 overhead recessed lights. I stayed in another room a few years back and do not recall having any similar problems.

The property is in a bad shape. Needs upgrad. Rooms are not clean with molds in the bathroom. Sink was clogged. The cleaners don’t even clean drawers. There was a very old can of beef soup! Disgusting bathroom. We didn’t take shower due to mould!

I booked last minute since it was a holiday weekend. The pool area is ‘fenced’ with some plywood and it looks like it has been that way for quite some time. The room itself while in surface looked clean but was not. The tub is stained and there is mold on the shower walls. The bed linens were stained including the comforter. Overall it worked for me as a hiker but as a traveler I would be very disappointed and would probably have moved hotels if anything else had been available. The plus side is the front desk staff was very friendly.

We certainly got what we paid for at this property. Although the view was beautiful, this was the dirtiest property I have ever stayed at. There was mildew in the shower and the towels were visibly stained.

Very, very dirty property. Tub was not clean and had mold. Sheets seem to not have been cleaned. Exterior shows a lot of wear and damage. Room was partially renovated, but poorly done. We staid despite these issues due to limited options during a holiday weekend. Avoid. Staff was nice, hence the 2 star rating.

My partner stayed there at the end of the John Muir Trail. I joined her on the second night Way above expectations for a 115$ night in a motel. The owner is very nice and went above and beyond when we had requests. There is no breakfast mentioned on hotels.com but there is a small breakfast available to grab at the lobby (bagels, coffee,..). The cleanliness is not perfect but good for the price. Rooms are comfy and soacious. I would definitely come back!!

Nice big room. Wood floor non carpet. Bathroom need some update. Bed comfort was ok. Sofa bed was bad, lots of crumbs on it, and no bedsheet on it. So, I didn't let my kids sleep on it. We only stay for 1 night, so I didn't make further request. I think if I will return again, I would request to stay on 3rd floor. The floor above us, the guests walk back and forth NON STOP!! and we can hear the floor creaking noise all night and we didn't sleep too well because of that. There are trucks or construction vehicle in the middle of the night like 11pm-1am making loud engine noises ... But front desk manager was nice during check in and out.

The room is quite large and we enjoyed it. However its bold lock broke and some electric sockets either doesn't work or broken.

Room with 2 queens very spacious. Equipped with everything you need for a brief stay. Walking distance to village and other dinning options. Great for a quick ski trip get away. Nothing fancy but definitely convenient.

The owner is very nice and went above and beyond when we had requests. There is no breakfast mentioned on hotels.com but there is a small breakfast available to grab at the lobby (bagels, coffee,..). The cleanliness is not perfect but good for the price. Rooms are comfy and soacious. I would definitely come back!!

If i could give zero stars i would. They are manipulative as well as unfair. The room was ghetto and looked nothing like the furniture in the pictures. Rolling chairs were our “furniture”. Check in was a mess as they forced me to upgrade because i had two boys with me instead of one. Causing me to pay even more. After i left a review about the check in, the next day they kicked me out for it, charged me two nights instead of one and kept a deposit on top of it all. Meanwhile, i had to find another place to stay with my kids. Note to self. Write a review after leaving your booking. Parking was under construction also so the spaces were ridiculously tight and the entire place was dirty. Do not go there!

Very helpful and professional staff.

The inn canceled my reservation without any kind immediate notice. I had called the inn 2 days prior to let them know that i was going to be late. Around 12am and they said it was ok. But the day of, they canceled my reservation. I received an email when i was driving so i couldn't respond until i was at a gas station. They said my card was declined but i had also booked another hotel for February 14th 2026 and it was fine. Yet this inn said my card was declined and canceled me. The whole area was either booked out or unavailable by the time i arrived. This ruined my whole trip. Extremely disappointed.

Staff was very supportive. Booked me into a room that was much more convenient; 1st floor vs 2nd floor. They even delivered sunglasses that I had left in the office. Thank you!!!

The gentleman at the front desk is by far the best hotel person we have ever encountered. Went way out of his way to do things for us. A remarkable person!

AVOID- disgustingly dirty with rude manager. Our room had what looked like blood splatters on the wall, and the bed sheets and towels had stains and hairs on them. We went for a shower as we had had a very long day, but found that the bath also had hairs in and someone else\'s used bar of soap. The towels also had yellow stains on them. We took pictures of all this before showering, then showed these to the manager to ask if we could move rooms. She was very rude, claiming that what looked like blood splatters were part of the \'paint\' of the room and said she will begin our check out process if we are not happy with the room, but that she can not refund us as we had been there longer than 20 minutes and used the facilities (it was around 35 minutes after check in when we went to complain). She showed us a word document on her computer which stated the 20 minute \'policy\', but we were not made aware of this at the time of booking through Expedia and she did not make us aware of this on check in. We asked that if it is not possible to refund us or move rooms, then could the room be cleaned. She said that new towels and bedding could be provided, but refused to clean the splatter off the walls. We asked why not and at this point, she told us that we were "checking out" and begun speaking on the phone to someone in another language. We checked and there was nowhere else to stay in the vicinity, so panicked, we agreed to just the towels and bedding so we could keep the room and not

The staff were very polite and helpful. The bed was comfortable. It was sufficient with what we needed and will be back again in the future. Adrian was awesome and super helpful with clearing out the snow for a parking spot for us upon arrival and helped us out with checking in and checking out of the room.

Nice place to stay in Mammoth. Close to theVillage. Staff were very friendly and made my stay much more enjoyable. Owner or manager had a charm about them which made me feel very welcome.

Location was rather convenient....10 minutes walking to the Village. Plenty of dining options around town.

Very central to all the activities we wanted to do in Mammoth. 5 minute walk to strip of shops and restaurants. 15 minute drive to Main Lodge for gondola ride to the top. Worst thing was the air conditioning unit. As loud as a truck and not very effective. Other than that, good price and great location.

The room was comfy and clean. The parking is somewhat limited but it is centrally located and was about a mile away from anything we wanted to do. I’d stay here again, depending on the price.

The Inn was fine to stay at. Check in was easy and the staff was friendly and accommodating. The bed was surprisingly comfortable especially after a long day on the mountain. Overall, if you're looking for a place to get a good night sleep, it'll do. They did provide a breakfast but didn't try it. That's nice for the guests.

Older motel but very clean and quiet. Staff very pleasant. Coffee there but no breakfast. Wonderful for quick overnight stay.

It was excellent for the money. Got simple free breakfast too. Will recommend to anybody.

I would not say the Ventura Grand Inn was "Grand" however it was comfortable and pleasant. Our room was clean and the location is convenient. The breakfast is very minimal but adequate. We would stay again.

Beds were comfortable, hostess/owner (?) was very nice and helpful and it was nice that a little breakfast was provided. Also liked the view of all the trees from our room. They could use a bit of updating for the rooms, but overall, for the money, a good deal. We would definitely stay there again.

I have had a difficult time getting my room deposit returned. I have had to contact my credit card to dispute it. The ice machine didnt work and the snacks they put out for breakfast looked as though it had been eaten and picked over. It was disgusting.

Nice location. Walking distance to many of the restaurants. Budget hotel with friendly staff. Provided snacks but we didn't try them.

Really large room. No breakfast but wasnt really expecting any. Beds were fine but very squeeky every movement created a noisy rattling etc. Everything else was fine. A bit tired but that is sort of due to it being a winter ski resort.
