We went to Canberra for the flower exhibition (Floriade) and our room was comfortable, easy access, could park our car just outside our room like a normal motel.

No problem with parking, there was lots of it unlike other hotels/motels in Canberra. We hadn't stayed at this motel before but found it to be very quiet and convenient for the city center if you have a car and we would stay there again. It was about a 6-7 minute walk from the Anslie shops along beautiful tree lined streets. The reason why I didn't give it full marks was because the hair dryer didn't work and the shower gel was empty which of course was a bit annoying to find out after you had stepped into the shower. This is a very basic motel but it was clean and quiet and my room was large with a microwave and plates plus cutlery I didn't have breakfast at the motel. The best feature is for those who like to take an afternoon walk as it is in a beautiful area of Canberra.

It's good for what it is, and doesn't pretend to be more. Comfy and convenient. Good parking which is hard to get in this location! Staff were great on check in and check out. Basic rooms, but enough space for a night or two in the family room.

This place was OK. Nothing too exciting to offer, rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. Dont take the pictures on the website as fact. In fact, the area surrounding and in the premises was very run down. No upkeep, or very limited maintenance. No where to sit to enjoy the afternoons or evenings woth a cold beer or glass of wine. Actually, no seats what so ever, even outside your room to relax. Thats a big disappointment. Nothing like sitting back relaxing on a holiday, rather than having to sit on your bed, room bound. The area that is available has no warmth, and very run down. Needs some love, get a area for people to relax and enjoy. Would eat here if offered, and we stayed 2 nights, 1 would of been enough. Note: Staff were very friendly a d accommodating.

The room had carpets that were soaked in one part of the room away from the bathroom or taps. It was clear they were aware of it as the second was pushed in front of the TV in front of the room. Due to this there was a musty smell in the room. The staff were notified but no action was taken and the place remained in the same condition. The parking area was full and we had to park illegally on the road overnight and move the vehicle.

The room was substandard for a big price! 1) the cisten ran the whole time and we had to turn it off and on when we needed to. Impossible to sleep when it was running. 2) Electrical fault. Lights went out at 10pm on Thursday. Thought it was a blackout but rest of motel had lights. 3) Door did not fit properly and had to be slammed really HARD to shut. Inside lock broken. 4) Carpet was filthy. 5) Some mold in shower. My husband has Parkinson’s and shutting the door, and moving without lights was impossible for him. IBIS should be ashamed of this facility and should give us a refund.

I had a very nice stay at Tall Trees Ainslie. I felt welcome and my personal request was happily accommodated. My room was very clean and quiet. I was travelling and needed a good nights rest. I had a very comfortable stay in every way. I left early so didn’t test breakfast.

Good location but overpriced. At this price point and Airbnb offers better value. The room was tired looking and the bathroom looked clean but the presence of the previous occupants' hair on the sink and walls was not great. I can forgive the cockroach in the bathroom because Australia.

I stayed here often as a public servant. It’s easy to get to on arriving in Canberra and is close to Civic for food etc. The room was small, at about 30 ~ 35 m2 (incl bathroom) with a queen and single. There was no space to put up the bag rack. No breakfast table. With 3 people it was like a squares puzzle to move around. Squashy. The bathroom door opened into the room and had no latch on it. When will these motels put power points by both sides of the bed so I can charge my phone and access it from the bed? The “fridge” was micro, sort of cool but didn’t freeze the cooler bricks and didn’t really cool the food. We threw out the meat the next day. I suspect it was a wine chiller, not a recognised fridge. There were a few spider egg sacks between the front wall and cupboard. by the front door. We weren’t asked for feedback when we left so I assume they aren’t interested. Ok for budget for a small family or couple but I doubt it would suit business travel any longer.

The room was clean and tidy. The bunk beds were positioned poorly under the air conditioning system and the top bunk bed is not ideal to sleep that close to the a/c unit. I couldn’t put my child there to sleep. The continental breakfast was terrible and do not recommend wasting your money for breakfast there. Options were toast, tinned fruit, Kellogg sustain cereal. Not even a teaspoon to stir your tea and no coffee. Otherwise the room itself was clean, tidy and staff were friendly. I would stay again but ask for no breakfast and move the bunk beds in the family room.

Unfortunately I had to give a low review as there were so many people staying that we had to park outside the hotel. It was extremely noisy with people beeping their horns and stepping loudly above our room, the fridge buzzing and the toilet making noises every time people in another room used their toilet. The bright blue wifi light shone all night as well. We had a very poor sleep. The price, location and staff are good.

We drove over 9hours and arrived 30mins early for check in. I asked if we could please check in early as we were exhausted yet we were told no and to come back in 30mins. Rooms were noisey, outdated, beds super hard and we will not be back after the poor service and lack of care at check in.

Continental breakfast was included in booking, but restaurant was closed even when told by staff on phone night before that restaurant would be open. Scent from air freshener/diffusers in the main building used to access our room was very very strong, causing family members who suffer from migraines to start getting headache migraines. Extremely glad we took an air purifier with us and had it on turbo all night. Reception was not open the entire length of our stay. Was notified upon booking that reception would be open until 10pm for our late check in but phone call around 5-6pm stated they would be closing soon. I have messaged the property directly regarding these issues particularly the restaurant not being open but have had no response.

It said it was a hotel when it really was a motor inn. Little staff interaction, as the staff had limited hours. The room looked nice in th epicture, was looked nothing like the picture.at all. I swear that they put their worst rooms on Expedia. Its so unfair! Don't stay there unless its the last place in town.

Parked directly in front of the unit. Loved the unit - clean, tidy and everything you need. Little out of the way in terms of its location but found a little shopping centre that had an IGA so dinner was served from there. Overall - a really great experience.

We spent a week at The Ibis Tall Trees motel which is conveniently located in the Ainslie area of Canberra. There’s a local shopping centre within easy walking distance where we bought groceries, had a meal with friends, bought some amazingly good lamingtons, refilled a prescription at the chemist, found a good book at a free book library stand, and if we had time I would have gone to one of the two hairdressing salons there. There are two sets of dinnerware including mugs and glasses if you want to have a meal or two in your room. We spent a week at The Ibis Tall Trees motel which is conveniently located in the Ainslie area of Canberra. There’s a local shopping centre within easy walking distance where we bought groceries, had a meal with friends, bought some amazingly good lamingtons, refilled a prescription at the chemist, found a good book at a free book library stand, and if we had time I would have gone to one of the two hairdressing salons there. There are two sets of dinnerware including mugs and glasses if you want to have a meal or two in your room. Nice hotel in a quiet part of Canberra, however, we did have noise when people decided to ride some e-scooters up and down the road right behind the hotel (and our bedroom window) late one evening - this obviously isn't the hotel's fault, but since it is placed in a residential area there can be neighbourhood noise. The room was clean and was serviced each day. The bed and the pillows were comfortable. There was only a bar fridge and a kettle in the room with some cups. No plates, bowls or cutlery other than spoons for stirring tea/coffee and no microwave, so we had to eat out for every meal.

No problem with parking, there was lots of it unlike other hotels/motels in Canberra. We hadn't stayed at this motel before but found it to be very quiet and convenient for the city center if you have a car and we would stay there again. It was about a 6-7 minute walk from the Anslie shops along beautiful tree lined streets. The reason why I didn't give it full marks was because the hair dryer didn't work and the shower gel was empty which of course was a bit annoying to find out after you had stepped into the shower. This is a very basic motel but it was clean and quiet and my room was large with a microwave and plates plus cutlery I didn't have breakfast at the motel. The best feature is for those who like to take an afternoon walk as it is in a beautiful area of Canberra.

Quiet location, comfortable bed and excellent reception staff. Noise from other guests was an issue particularly when in hallway and playing loud music. Curtains and shower towels (in our room) aged and require replacement. Due to it’s excellent location shops and restaurants do require driving to access. Would we stay again? Yes.

The Ibis didn’t supply details of what was available in the area. They had bunk beds and the top one was right on the air conditioner so if someone was to sleep in it you’d have to turn it off. Property had no cafe or food service, you could buy a breakfast pack but hardly 4 star as it claimed.

The property was ok, about standard. Beds were fine, roof in bathroom and ahower head need replacement in the family room. The shower head was spraying water from the fitting which was a frustration. Unfortunately the photos shown of the family room with 2 x double bunks beds does not exist (quite misleading) and proved a frustration when you ha e two kods both wanting the top bunk. Also inspite of wotif advertising the hotel has a breakfast option, the hotel said they havent for some time as the restaurant has been closed so would be good if wotif stopped advertising it and charging the extra fees.

The room was clean and tidy. The bunk beds were positioned poorly under the air conditioning system and the top bunk bed is not ideal to sleep that close to the a/c unit. I couldn’t put my child there to sleep. The continental breakfast was terrible and do not recommend wasting your money for breakfast there. Options were toast, tinned fruit, Kellogg sustain cereal. Not even a teaspoon to stir your tea and no coffee. Otherwise the room itself was clean, tidy and staff were friendly. I would stay again but ask for no breakfast and move the bunk beds in the family room.

Continental breakfast was included in booking, but restaurant was closed even when told by staff on phone night before that restaurant would be open. Scent from air freshener/diffusers in the main building used to access our room was very very strong, causing family members who suffer from migraines to start getting headache migraines. Extremely glad we took an air purifier with us and had it on turbo all night. Reception was not open the entire length of our stay. Was notified upon booking that reception would be open until 10pm for our late check in but phone call around 5-6pm stated they would be closing soon. I have messaged the property directly regarding these issues particularly the restaurant not being open but have had no response.

Quiet location , close to local Iga n shops. Old building but renovated, rooms clean, hot shower with good pressure. Bed comfortable. Large car park. Booked in at 4 but room not ready large turnover that day but staff lovely and a room change was possible. Affordable and comfortable stay.
