Five star in name only, with too many people crammed in to actually be able to use the “facilities”: the gym and spa were a joke, the speciality restaurants were all booked up and the myriad beautiful pools too cold to use. The reception area is chaotic with the staff unable to hear because of the loud live music blaring in the adjacent bar.

Highs - Excellent beach - Most of staff is friendly, really enjoyed meeting Lefteris, Giorgio and his bar colleague (forgot his name) at the beach bar; Aris in the bar near reception and Katerina, evening housekeeper. - Restaurants Lows - Some guests are very entitled and selfish. Hotel should find ways to address them as it does impact others. You would see 10 chairs reserved by 1 person for the kid's mini disco, endless sunbeds reserved and not used by midday. Vaping in the restaurant and large group of people being quite loud. - I had a linen shirt stolen from the drying rack, which is placed outside the room. A lovely hotel for sure, with some opportunities for improvement to ensure all guests feel comfortable and have equal chances of using all non-private space and facilities.

Def a good idea to get shared pool swim up rooms. Main hotel pool has limited shade for sun beds. Not all beds have umbrellas. All inclusive is tricky they make it hard for you to access food and drink . Too many queues to make use of all inclusive food and beverage outlets. Service is quite average and quality of food is really lacking. Pros are beachside access and shared swim up pool rooms

Wir hatten einen rundum tollen Urlaub in diesem Resort! Die Hotelanlage war sehr gepflegt und sauber, was sofort für ein angenehmes Urlaubsgefühl sorgte. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir das durchweg freundliche und aufmerksame Personal – vom Empfang bis zum Service war jeder stets hilfsbereit und herzlich. Die Poolbereiche waren insgesamt schön gestaltet. Während es am Gemeinschaftspool oft schwer war, eine freie Liege zu finden, war der Bereich am Sharingpool wunderbar ruhig und entspannend – perfekt zum Abschalten. Kulinarisch wurde uns einiges geboten: Die Themenrestaurants, Snackbars und Bars waren alle hervorragend. Auch das Mainrestaurant überzeugte mit einer vielfältigen, leckeren Auswahl, bei der wirklich für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei war. Für Aktivurlauber bietet das Resort ebenfalls einiges: Tennis, Basketball, ein gut ausgestattetes Gym – alles inklusive und mit kostenlosem Zugang zu den nötigen Materialien. Sehr durchdacht! Insgesamt ein rundum gelungener Aufenthalt – wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen!

Lovely, renovated hotel. Good food although a lot of difficulties with booking restaurants as the hotel was very busy. Good selection of snacks/pizza/grill between breakfast and dinner. Good facilities and lovely beach. Water in the pool very cold in late October; it would be nice if the pool was heated.

Lovely property. Excellent swim up rooms and clean hotel with good selection of drinks. Our only honest criticism would be the quality of buffet food and range of Greek food which was lacking. The kids pool is substandard and not to the same quality as the pools and facilities elsewhere. Other than that, we had a lovely time and would still return.

Wir hatten eine wunderschöne Woche im Mitsis Rinela Beach Resort! Die Anlage ist wunderschön, der Meerblick perfekt, der Privatstrand toll und die Zimmer blitzeblank. Hervorzuheben war das durchweg nette Personal, das immer ein Lächeln auf den Lippen hatte! Die Flugzeuge, die im 30 Minuten Takt über das Hotel fliegen, störten kaum - die Kinder fanden sie eher toll. Das Essen war gut. Viel Auswahl und recht vielfältig. Wir hätten gerne die Spezialitätenrestaurants probiert, aber die Reservierungen waren leider alle schon weg. Als Familie kommen wir gerne wieder! Als Paar gibt es meiner Meinung nach geeignetere Hotels… es sind sehr viele Kinder da, die dementsprechend laut sind. Auch das Abendprogramm ist eher auf Kinder zugeschnitten. Die Lage nah am Flughafen und an Heraklion, sowie in der Nähe vom Aquarium und Dinoland ist für Familien ebenfalls zu empfehlen.

For the price we paid, I expected a much better experience. The food was terrible, and the air conditioning in my suite didn’t work. I reported it to staff three times, but no one ever came to check it out. I upgraded to the family suite, and unfortunately, my sister-in-law, who is half Black, felt extremely disrespected by the staff. They completely ignored her requests to the point that I had to step in and ask on her behalf. To make things worse, the makeshift bed downstairs had fleas. We later realized that the sliding doors are often left open, allowing stray cats to come in and lay on the couches—we actually saw this happen one night when it rained. Overall, this stay was disappointing and definitely not worth the money.

The staff were friendly, the food and drinks were good, having a shared pool was definitely the way to go! Everything was great except a frequent sewage smell that would surround our half of the resort that became unbearable at times. But the views and all other accommodations made us look past this minor setback.

Das Housekeeping ist katastrophal. Die Zimmer waren nie sauber, auch nicht nach Reklamation. Das Personal hauptsächlich sehr unfreundlich, hier und da findet man jemand nettes. Frühstück gibt es theoretisch ab 7:00 Uhr, um 7:30 gibt es noch nicht mal die Hälfte der Sachen, die Terasse ist noch zu etc. Schöne Anlage, allerdings im Vergleich mit anderen Hotels definitiv kein 5 Sterne, eher 3 Sterne. Die Restaurants waren sehr lecker, das Hauptbuffet hat Kantinencharakter und ist in Ordnung.

The hotel was very clean and well appointed. Freshly stocked mini bar everyday & the staff were very friendly and attentive, always smiling. They gave the impression that they were as happy to be there as us. Very good choice of freshly cooked food in the buffet and the a la carte restaurants were excellent. Clean pool areas and its own private beach with plenty of sunbeds and parasols & that was cleaned each day and that had a lifeguard too.

Nice rooms, well maintained grounds, clean and comfortable. Staff is great and make you feel welcome, one of the biggest assets . Food is good though the Asian a la carte and the late night buffet less so. Good massages at the spa and nice beach. It was a very relaxing week and I would definitely recommend.

The hotel has been recently renovated to a high standard and the vast majority of staff have been fantastic. The bbq, pizza and crepes made fresh to order were all delicious and there was lots of drinks choices at all of the bars. The hotel is clean, our room was lovely with a fantastic view and we had a great time. There were plenty of sun loungers by the pool and on the beach and we never struggled to find somewhere to sit. The bus stop into Heraklion is just outside and the busses are regular and clean. There are however, a few areas for improvement; - The lobby bar and main restaurant have not been refurbished and are quite dated, although very clean as the rest of the hotel. - The food at the buffet was good but quite repetitive, the a la carte restaurants were generally good but we found the Taverna very oily and quite poor. - Most staff were extremely helpful and polite but a couple were rude, the woman at the pizza place was rude on a couple of occasions.

We had a fantastic two-week stay at Mitsis Rinela in summer 2024! From the moment we arrived, the experience exceeded our expectations. We were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade to a room with access to a shared pool, which really elevated our holiday experience. The room was spotless and well-maintained throughout our stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, always ready to help with a smile. We especially enjoyed the evening entertainment—it added a lovely touch to our nights and created a great atmosphere around the resort. The dining options were another highlight. In addition to the main buffet, there were several à la carte restaurants offering a nice variety of cuisines. One thing to note is that these restaurants require advance booking. Unfortunately, we weren’t aware of this at first, so we missed the chance to use our full quota of reservations. It would have been helpful to get a heads-up about that upon arrival. Overall, though, Mitsis Rinela offered a beautiful and relaxing getaway with great amenities, top-notch service, and memorable moments. We would definitely love to return!

The hotel was excellent and the staff were faultless - very helpful, friendly and enthusiastic. Unfortunately the noise from the evening entertainment (up to 11pm) carried to our room. The staff very kindly arranged a room change which significantly helped but there was still some noise. This is the only reason we gave 4* rather than 5*.

Very nicely decorated hotel and surrounding gardens and beach area immaculately maintained. Would highly recommend getting the a la carte restaurants booked before you arrive, as they are a cut above the regular buffet restaurant. My only criticisms is the openness of the balcony areas. It doesn’t feel very private and if you are next to neighbours who smoke, it’s not very pleasant to sit outside and enjoy the view. Also the rooms feel a tad on the small side, especially if you have a baby cot set up in the room, feels like perhaps a few pieces of furniture table, sofa (we had two of each in the room) etc could either be removed entirely or replaced with some more storage.

Maximale Punkte! Wir waren für eine Woche in dem Hotel und haben es in jeglicher Hinsicht genossen und lieben gelernt. Es beginnt schon mit einer tollen, freundlichen Begrüßung beim Check in, geht weiter mit den überall zuvorkommenden Mitarbeitenden, den sehr schönen Zimmern und dem gestalteten Außenbereich bis hin zum Essen und den Services. Die gesamte Anlage ist frisch renoviert und in einem tadellosen Zustand. Innen- und Außenbereiche sind gestalterisch aufeinander abgestimmt. Die Zimmer sind geräumig und geschmackvoll eingerichtet und man hat das Gefühl, dass hier Designer am Werk waren. Der Gartenbereich ist auch sehr gepflegt. Das Essen ist sehr gut, reichhaltige Buffets, und man hat neben der Hauptverpflegung die Möglichkeit, in mehreren Restaurants einen Tisch zu reservieren. Dies sollte man allerdings möglichst weit im Voraus planen und vorreservieren. Wir haben es nicht für alle Restaurants geschafft, da diese bereits ausgebucht waren. Sehr zu empfehlen ist die Weinbar (ab 18) und das asiatische Restaurant. Es gibt auf dem Gelände verteilt mehrere Bars, die Getränke und Cocktails sowie teilweise auch Snacks anbieten. Für Erwachsene und Kinder gibt es passende Angebote. Nach kurzer Zeit ist die „Main Bar“ unser Lieblingsort geworden. Wahnsinnig engagiert hat das Main-Bar Team den Gästen ein tolles Erlebnis geboten. Ein besonderer Dank gilt Mina, Kallia und Labros, die uns unvergessliche Abende mit Cocktails bereitet haben. Wir hatten sehr viel Spaß!

Ein perfekter Urlaub. Alle Mitarbeiter sind äußerst freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Zimmer wie auch die gesamte Anlage ist sehr geschmackvoll und stets sauber. Leider gibt es außerhalb der Hotelanlage nicht viel ansprechendes.

Getränke kommen oftmals nur sehr langsam und man muss den Kellnern immer hinterher laufen wenn man nochmal was möchte. Essen war ganz Ok aber für den Preis habe ich wirklich mehr erwartet. Personal teilweise freundlich, macht jedoch oft auch einen genervten Eindruck. Fazit: Ich finde das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt hier nicht ganz. Für den Preis welchen man in Mitsis Hotels zahlt erwarte ich mir deutlich mehr

I had a mixed stay for our honeymoon, I found all the dinner and service staff really lovely and the cleaners were really good, however there is a massive negative which really ruined our stay, the air conditioning which was advertised was set to heat mode for the first 5 days of our trip… despite complaining each day and being told it will be fixed tomorrow… it was not changed to cooling mode for 5 days, this really effected our sleep as it was so hot in our roo, they would not move us to a different room and just told us to put up with it… really disappointed by this otherwise I feel it would of been a lovely stay… Complained afterwards and was not offered any kind of compensation or refund on the stay. Also the area around is not that great I would recommend staying somewhere near chanai.

The hotel is lovely - perfect for a small family as we found alot of other holiday makers were families with small children or babies. However, we paid for a swim up room private pool and didnt get this - just the private pool part which was overlooked by all other hotel users at the main pool (a bit unideal but can be overlooked as we had no sunbed wars). The Biggest let down was that you pay all inclusive and for the 4 nights we stayed we only managed to get into 1 restaurant as we complained (buffet was an option every night but the food was bland). We ended up renting a car for 2 nights so we could leave the area and go to some authentic greek restaurants. We also asked for a late request check out as our flight wasnt until evening (usual checkout 12pm) this was also denied even though you have to pay €50 so they’d be making money?. So with buffet food and requests constantly denied it was disappointing. We had no shower gel in our shower just moisturiser and shampoo so we had to buy some. They do top up your mini bar every day which is great, however our bed sheets were just remade never changed so this wasnt ideal either. Perfect for a short stay but probably wouldnt come back. Felt like an up and coming just built hotel which lacked quality and basic needs/requests. Each bar has a different menu so cant mix your drinks from each and some on there they also cant do either. A STRONG sewer smell quite often too so factoring that into our stay we left the pool often

The superior double sea facing shared pool room had amazing views . The pool was quiet so my 5 year old loved having his own pool. The private beach was walking distance, took 5 minute and you on the beach.

A convenient mid size resort. Decent food. Amazing beach and big size pool. Pool never gets too crowded. Friendly staff. Only complaint could be lack of staff. Staff seems working long hours and exhausted,They try their best though.

The basics were handled well: the food, snacks, and drinks were GOOD overall, though it can be confusing to figure out which outlet serves what at times. The air conditioning worked reliably and the bedding was comfortable. However, service and facilities left much to be desired. The shared pool Jacuzzi functions were out of order, and service consistently missed the mark. Food shortages occurred—like a certain item running out at the BBQ station two hours before closing—which is simply unacceptable for this price point. Consistency is an issue: welcome amenities varied drastically depending on who managed the check-in, based on clear observations of other arriving guests. Charging €20–€35 for late check-out at a supposedly five-star hotel is disappointing, regardless of the amount. On the culinary side, the Italian à la carte and Steakhouse experiences were good, but the so-called Italian Brunch was a letdown: the menu descriptions did not match the served food, which was BLAND and of poor quality. Bottom line: for the rates charged, especially compared to other local resorts, these issues are unacceptable and fall farrrrr short of five-star standards.

Lovely property however, if you are expecting 5 star service this isn’t the place. You barely receive table service by the pool so you constantly have to get drinks yourself. Mini fridge was only restocked once, buffet for breakfast and dinner is of very bad quality - you have to book well in advance to get into the restaurants. However, Staff in the main bar were very lovely and attentive and the Italian restaurant. I would personally rate this hotel a 4 star.

Absolutely everything about our stay was first class. The hotel was exceptional, the food in all restaurants, including buffet was fantastic. So much choice. The staff were also all wonderful. We had a superior double sea front with shared private pool and we could not fault anything about it. We even had the delightful Marina bringing us drinks all day around the pool, she was a delight. We will definitely be coming back. Thank you.

We stayed at Mitsis Rinela to celebrate a milestone birthday and our anniversary and the experience was flawless from start to finish. Having already stayed at another Mitsis in Rhodes, I expected great service, but Rinela somehow exceeded even that. As vegans, we were especially impressed by how well the resort catered to our dietary needs. From the moment I emailed ahead of our stay, the resort’s in-house nutritionist, Maria, responded promptly and clearly explained our options at every restaurant. When we arrived, she met with us personally to ensure everything was in place and it was. We were introduced to the Executive Chef, Georgios, and Sous Chef, Ionis, who went out of their way to customise our meals. The service across all à la carte restaurants, cafés, and beach bars was simply incredible. We were constantly offered more food and options — the à la carte dining felt limitless, and every meal left us full and happy. It honestly felt like visiting a beloved grandmother who keeps lovingly feeding you. The staff were exceptional; always smiling, always helpful. A special thanks to Sha, Magdalini, Kelly, and Eleni, who made every dining experience extra special. The setting itself is stunning, with a grand pool, private beach, and beautiful architecture — but it’s the people who truly make Mitsis Rinela what it is. I work for a global travel company and can confidently say this was one of the best hospitality experiences I’ve had anywhere in the world!

We stayed at mitsis rinela for a week and everything was perfect. The hotel has an amazing view of the ocean and the beach is beautiful, it literally looks like a beach club with sun mattresses. The staff is also friendly and welcoming, helping us with everything we needed (especially Maria from guest relations!). The food is tasty and the restaurants are definitely worth trying to book. We especially loved the Italian restaurant and every restaurant brought diversity in the food we ate throughout the week. Lastly, the drinks at the lounge bar are delicious and very well made, we stayed and ordered drinks every night of the week. Would definitely come again!!

This hotel has the most stunning setting of any hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The main pool is especially gorgeous. Their all-inclusive meals were high quality and dining room service was great. Bar service was a little slow during happy hour time. We couldn’t check in until an hour after check-in time which was slightly inconvenient; looking back, it would’ve been helpful to unwind somewhere on the property and get a text when our room was ready. We did get upgraded to a suite with a swim-up pool attached to our terrace, which was lovely. This was a nice place to bring our toddler. It felt family-friendly but sophisticated, too.

Traumhafter Aufenthalt im Mitsis Rinela auf Kreta Unser Urlaub im Mitsis Rinela war rundum gelungen! Die Anlage ist sehr modern und stilvoll gestaltet, mit wunderschönen, frisch renovierten Zimmern, die keine Wünsche offenlassen. Besonders begeistert hat uns das All-Inclusive-Konzept mit mehreren À-la-carte-Restaurants – kulinarisch ein echtes Highlight! Der Strand direkt vor dem Hotel sowie die großzügige Poollandschaft sind außergewöhnlich schön und laden zum Entspannen ein. Auch das Fitnesscenter neben dem Tennisplatz ist top ausgestattet und bietet alles, was man für ein gutes Workout braucht. Das Personal war durchweg freundlich und zuvorkommend – man fühlt sich wirklich willkommen. Einziger kleiner Wermutstropfen könnte für manche die Nähe zum Flughafen sein, da gelegentlich Fluglärm hörbar ist. Uns hat das jedoch kaum gestört. Insgesamt ein fantastischer Urlaubsort, den wir gerne weiterempfehlen!

Ausgezeichnet. Das Hotel ist wunderschön. Mit viel liebe und Geschmack eingerichtet. Strand ist super. Das Essen ist sehr gut und das Personal ist sehr nett. Super Lage.

Das Essen im Haupt-Restaurant ist nicht zu empfehlen. Wir haben deshalb die anderen Restaurant gebucht, die sehr gut waren. Wir sind das zweite Jahr in Folge da und schön langsam gehört eniges wieder restauriert (Lobbybereich, Hauptrestaurant, Terassen am Shared-Pool Zimmer,..) Im großen und ganzen ein sehr schöne Anlage, jedoch mit sehr vielen Zimmern und das heißt auch Gästen. Uns war es zu viel, wir werden beim nächsten Urlaub wieder ein anderes Hotel buchen.

Die Flugzeuge, die im 30 Minuten Takt über das Hotel fliegen, störten kaum - die Kinder fanden sie eher toll. Das Essen war gut. Viel Auswahl und recht vielfältig. Wir hätten gerne die Spezialitätenrestaurants probiert, aber die Reservierungen waren leider alle schon weg. Als Familie kommen wir gerne wieder! Als Paar gibt es meiner Meinung nach geeignetere Hotels… es sind sehr viele Kinder da, die dementsprechend laut sind. Auch das Abendprogramm ist eher auf Kinder zugeschnitten. Die Lage nah am Flughafen und an Heraklion, sowie in der Nähe vom Aquarium und Dinoland ist für Familien ebenfalls zu empfehlen.

Absolutely everything about our stay was first class. The hotel was exceptional, the food in all restaurants, including buffet was fantastic. So much choice. The staff were also all wonderful. We had a superior double sea front with shared private pool and we could not fault anything about it. We even had the delightful Marina bringing us drinks all day around the pool, she was a delight. We will definitely be coming back. Thank you.

Our experience at this hotel was nothing short of exceptional! Having enjoyed several all-inclusive holidays in the past, we can confidently say this one stands out as the best by far. The variety of food options was simply incredible—there was so much to choose from that we were spoiled for choice! From an abundance of healthy dishes to excellent vegetarian options, every meal was a delight. Our room was immaculate, chic, and beautifully decorated, with a spacious and modern bathroom that exceeded our expectations. Housekeeping ensured our room was spotless every day, always adding a personal touch with their care and attentiveness. The restaurants provided top-notch service alongside an impressive selection of dishes. Every meal felt like a special occasion, leaving us consistently impressed. The hotel’s location by the sea was breathtaking. Sipping expertly crafted cocktails on the beach while enjoying the serene views was an absolute highlight. The pizza and burger station added a fun and convenient touch that we absolutely loved. If we could give this hotel more than 10 stars, we absolutely would! We're already planning to explore another Mitsis hotel in the future, thanks to this unforgettable experience. A heartfelt thank-you to the entire team for making our stay so remarkable. We loved our stay. Christos who worked at the main bar was a particular highlight for us. The only slight let down was the food quality in a few of the restaurants and the ability to book them. Otherwise perfect!

Lovely, renovated hotel. Good food although a lot of difficulties with booking restaurants as the hotel was very busy. Good selection of snacks/pizza/grill between breakfast and dinner. Good facilities and lovely beach. Water in the pool very cold in late October; it would be nice if the pool was heated.

Lovely property. Excellent swim up rooms and clean hotel with good selection of drinks. Our only honest criticism would be the quality of buffet food and range of Greek food which was lacking. The kids pool is substandard and not to the same quality as the pools and facilities elsewhere. Other than that, we had a lovely time and would still return.
