Being a construction professional, I recognize quality in workmanship - this facility is well built and finishes in construction are excellent; blending new work with existing brick conditions is magnificent. My wife and I have done our fair share of traveling, and I can say that the Chandler Hotel might be the best place we have ever stayed. The owners have done an incredible job of restoring an old building into a first class hotel. The lobby and our room were spotless. Our room was very comfortable with plenty of room to stretch out. The electric fireplace added a nice touch of ambiance. There is no one on site so check in and communication is all done through email, but that worked seamlessly. We really appreciated the small touches such as a bottle of chilled water and glasses in the mini fridge and pre measured coffee. There was also an area down the hall from our room with extra towels or coffee if needed. We were able to park on street right in front of hotel. Great location for everything in downtown Madison. Such a great little town with so much going on all the time. We loved our weekend here and can't wait to return. Highly recommend.

The Chandler is a brand new hotel in the heart of historic downtown Madison, IN. It is within walking distance of everything, only a block off Main Street. What a nice surprise! While called a hotel, The Chandler acts like an Airbnb. There is no staff and you are given a unique code to enter the building and your room. The building has clearly been lovingly and beautifully renovated to suit its new purpose. The rooms are all on the second floor, so beware if stairs are an issue. But it is definitely worth the hike up a few steps. Each room is unique with different design elements, all very lovely. There are vaulted ceilings, exposed brick and wood floors, giving it an "old world" factor, but brand new modern appointments for the trendy feel. There's an outdoor space with comfy furniture to lounge on and a cooler of beverages for sale for your convenience. One minor suggestion I have would be to incorporate some kind of snack vending since there is no nearby convenience store, but there were a couple of sweet treats (from the local chocolate store, I would imagine) to greet our entry. We also appreciated the fresh flowers -- lovely touches to make you feel welcome. All the elements of comfort and convenience were also included - little fridge, plenty of outlets, complimentary toiletries, good towels, etc. We were happy to be able to sign in to YouTube and Netflix on the TV as well. Lastly, the hotel owners are terrific - we had a little snafu with Expedia during
