Stayed 4 nights

I have stayed here many times and loved it. Not this time. For the price, it was not worth it. My room was tiny, smelled like B.O., I felt like I couldn’t get clean in the shower and the refrigerator stunk as well. When I arrived I was told my room wasn’t ready (I was early), then a few minutes later they said it was ready. I arrived in the room and it had not been cleaned from the previous occupants. I had to leave my things in the room so I could go to my event. The front desk was very apologetic and said it would be clean when I returned. It did look clean but because of the smell, I’m scared to think that it may have just got a “quick clean.”

Our initial experience was not the best as our room was down graded due to maintenance issues but following discussions we have been compensated for this since our return to the UK. The hotel is in a good location, walkable to old town and also downtown and main sights. Car parking is convenient as the self park is right next door and this is the same as the valet option so much better value. Housekeeping was great we had fresh towels daily and bottles of water. The amenities in the room were good, the room itself was a little dark but this was as a consequence of the downgrade so has been reflected in our compensation. Appreciate staff response to our queries

Every interaction with the front desk was subpar. They need to do better training. A glitch with the reservation became a two day ordeal that has yet to be resolved. Two days of asking for housekeeping has been a complete catastrophe —when they finally cleaned the room, they left no towels and garbage inside the trashcan. It was just absolute disregard, especially after spending two full days back-and-forth complaining on the lack of service. The crew behind the front desk needs training. They could not answer a question straight. They just didn’t know what they were doing. They tried to be supportive, but they were just parroting stuff and/or giving misinformation. I asked for the Manager numerous times and the only answer was the manager’s out for the Weekend. This is a four star hotel. This is just absolute terrible service. I’m embarrassed to be here. Don’t book here go book somewhere else. These people need to get their act together and have some intensive training before they can call themselves a real hotel. I don’t blame the staff. I blamed the manager for absolute in confidence and how he/she trains the team.

Perfect for exploring Downtown and Old Sacramento. Ryan at the property restaurant, Willow, is gracious host and bartender. Third time starting here and will be back again!
