Shelby Country Inn and RV Park

The room was clean, there were only hand towels so I asked for bath towels. The odd thing was there were no outlets to plug anything in. There was an air-conditioner so we unplugged that to use the outlet. The walls need new paint. They are peeling

Staff was amazing and made it very welcoming. It was definitely a small hotel with very little to offer, but for how small and out of nowhere it is located, it was a great stay. I would have preferred black out curtains!

Good for a overnight stop when traveling

Cute little independent place to stay. Don't expect all the whizbang amenities. Our room was clean, staff was nice, and there was coffee in the morning. Would probably stay again.

The bed I slept in was infested with bed bugs. Old and dirty room . An hour after falling asleep, I woke up with them crawling all over me. I ended up having to vacate the room in the middle of the night, I could not contact anyone because the front desk was closed and there was no one in attendance until 9:00 a.m. the next morning. I had to leave a note on the bed for the cleaning staff, next to the blood stains on the bed sheets along with a dead bed bug that I killed so they could see it. They were in every nook and cranny of the bed and frame. I have never been so traumatized in my life. I ended up calling them at 9:30 a.m. to report this and request a refund, as I had to drive four and a half hours home with no sleep, as I had been woken up multiple times feeling as if I was being bitten. The general manager spoke to me and admitted that he had seen my note, gone to the room and found the infestation as I described. He told me he had removed the bedding and was in the process of gutting the room and was going to have it treated. I told him I have never experienced anything as horrible as that, waking up covered in crawling bugs and being bitten. I was also now faced with having to treat every item that I had brought into the room to prevent bringing bed bugs into my home. He did agree to fully refund me and apologized profusely. I have not yet received a refund. I feel I should be compensated for more than just the refund after everything. Horrible experience!
