Wingate by Wyndham Uniontown

Seems Wyndham just purchased the property, and thus the property is still in midst of old and new. The service is excellent, and the team does an excellent job with the limited resources to make you feel at home. The room carpets are old and dirty. The elevator is old and takes a loooooong time.

Physical condition of the property was in ill-repair at best - no pool, no vending machines, no in-room coffee maker, dogs allowed in dining space, widows in pitiful condition, desk clerk woefully under trained, unable to answer questions regarding room charges, advised me to contact 3rd party booking agent, would be extremely embarrassed to present the site as a quality site

Upon entering our 1st room, we discovered that the drain in the shower/ tub was not connected, therefore unusable. We were upgraded to a king suite however, when we called to find out what time the swimming pool was open until we were told it was out of service. With nothing to do, we decided to walk the property, only to discover the swimming pool was out of service due to old mattresses being stored in, there was a leak in the ceiling with a puddle of water on the floor in 1 of the hallways (safety hazard), not to mention the broken window on the first floor. Topping that all off was when we attempting to get a hot shower, there was only lukewarm water, and if that wasn’t enough, upon waking in the morning, we discovered that the curtains were moth eaten, since the sunlight was coming through the darkening shades. Only 2 positive things, the staff was friendly, and the breakfast was decent… have pictures to prove swimming pool, leaking ceiling, broken window. Not able to attach them.

Have stayed here plenty of time when visiting family. Advertised as having a pool which we have enjoyed numerous time and is the reason i book the hotel and the price. I was informed after check out the pool has been closed indefinitely. Will book somewhere else when we visit again

Google Maps showed a pool- NO pool Continental breakfast was great but very light on the meat( bacon), once it was gone that was it. No towels in our room, manager was great at giving us some.

Room was musty the smell was coming from the air conditioner. We had 2 towels no hangers in the room. The pool was closed and had been for some time it was being used as storage. Some of the guests were partying in the parking lot and being loud.

One of the primary reasons for choosing this hotel was the availability of an indoor pool as we were traveling with two teenage children. When we arrived we found the pool to be out of commission and apparently had been for some time. Room service was only provided every three days and then it had to be on request. This was billed as a non-smoking hotel, yet we smelled cigarette smoke through our vents every day. We had to request fresh towels and toiletries from the front desk during our 5 day stay. The room telephone did not work throughout the stay even though we reported it to the front desk personnel. On a positive note, the breakfast buffet was delicious and well kept stocked.

Hotel it self was ok. We booked this hotel as it advertised indoor pool and we had little kids with us for the 3 night stay that we’re looking forward to the pool time during the day. The pool room was all closed up and windows were all covered. The front desk said they didn’t have a pool but it was obviously there and it was in the pics. We plan on coming back to town in April 2024 and again October 2024 and will definitely not be staying there again. If you are just looking for a decent bed to sleep in it’s fine but you can definitely get a cheaper room if that’s all you need or want.

Pool closed but no mention of that online. This was the only reason we stayed at a hotel was to go swimming since weather was hot. Window was broken in room with glass shards in window track. Had to request a new room.

The room I was given for the first night was disgusting. The bathroom had not been cleaned and there was no toilet paper in the bathroom as well as only one towel. The one chair was old and dirty with the fabric ripped on one arm. Carpet was stained and the curtains would not close. There was a huge gas station next door with numerous parking lot lights that shined straight into the room since the curtains would not cover the windows you could read a newspaper at 3am just from the light coming in the window. The next morning I talked with the manager who moved me to a different room on the other side of the building from the gas station lights I was in the second room for three nights. The bath room was cleaned once and the bed made once. The floor was never vacuumed or mopped. The elevator inspection certificate posted in the elevator expired in 2022 The property as a whole was dirty It seemed like the staff spent more time in the parking lot smoking than doing anything inside to clean. Will never stay there again or after this experience any other Wyndham property.

This hotel is not clean. The bathroom was really dirty (including empty soap wrap hair in the shower) and the bedroom was dusty. I strongly believe the bed sheets were not clean (body hair on them and some little rocks). The walls are very thin and we could hear all the noise from the room next to us. Will not stay there again and I will not recommend this hotel to friends.

This was my first Expedia hotel booking. I should have learned to steer clear of Wyndham properties. Again, very dirty stained sheet and parties behind the toilet!! Deleting my Expedia account pronto and I’m done!

The bathroom was dirty stayed two days never cleaned the room !

Horrible experience, dirty floor in bathroom, hair all over the floor, no shower curtain in shower, had to go to front desk to get one and installed myself. Dust bunnies and floor dirty under chairs and automon in room. Toilet did not fill up with water to flush. Had to fill the plastic garbage can up with water in the tub to flush toilet. SHOULD GET A FULL REFUND.

The place was nice except our feet getting dirty from walking on the floor that’s kind of nasty

Rooms were filthy, hair all over the bathroom and all floors obviously haven't been cleaned in a very long time. Microwave had food splattered in it. Beds and pillows were terrible. Went to breakfast there and there was nothing but a couple of muffins and a slice of bread to choose from unless I wanted a waffle. Over all a poor experience and will look at better options when staying in that area.

Checkin was efficient & friendly. Room was clean except for following: trash not emptied, no towels or toilet paper. When we walked from bathroom to bed to go to sleep, the floor was so dirty that our feet left black marks on the clean sheets. Though it didn’t have visible dirt no mopping had been done only using this tool with a sticky roller to pick up obvious dirt. Disgusting!!! On the day we left we noted that the cleaning carts don’t even have any mops- what??? Don’t know who manages this property but they need to do a better job of both how the staff is equipped & supervision and/or training. Breakfast was okay. We won’t stay here again.

Breakfast in the morning ran out of food 45 minutes before the end of breakfast time. The windows were so old that you could not look out of them through the white film on the windows. There was trash on the outside grounds, and the parking lot was full of potholes. There were holes in the walls where pictures once were. The breakfast area was dirty as well and was never cleaned up between people or the tables. I have nothing good to say about the experience and will never stay here again.

Beds very uncomfortable and noisy guests all night

Grateful for free breakfast but it’s usual hotel fare - not a lot of nutritional value. Still, it’s free. AC/heat unit in our room didn’t work. It got quite chilly later at night and there were no extra blankets in room. We both got dressed and went back to bed to stay warm until morning. The hotel has been used pretty hard. Even though it’s been updated (color, painted), it still feels very bare bones and worn. Not a rug or carpet in our room or anywhere else in hotel making it feel cold.

The room was so noisy that I could hardly sleep. The sounds from people moving about in the hallway made it almost feel like I was sleeping in a partition in the hall.

Carpets throughout the property were stained and soiled. Carpet in room felt sticky on bare feet. Bed was not very comfortable, and when someone walked down the hall it sounded like they were in the room. Wouldnt stay there again.

Obvious that updates have been done to the rooms. Roomy with 2 desks, love seat, coffee table area.

The drapes in the room did not block the street lamp which was right outside the window and the room was so bright. It was almost like daylight during the night.

Staff was friendly but the building was run down. Half of the windows lost their glazing and were white and you couldn't see out of them. The upholstered chair in my room was dirty and the back upholstery was missing, leaving exposed plywood with nails sticking out. The freez

I checked in but didn’t immediately go in my room. I came back later and to my surprise the room was occupied by someone else. Fortunately, they were not in the room just their belongings and the tv was still on. That could have been a very dangerous experience.

Despite multiple ads on hotel sites our reservation was canceled when we arrived. They did not call or text. If the did they did not leave a VM. When we were searching for another location there was still rooms listed on hotel sites. This is unprofessional performance and very problematic for us.

I booked with this location because it was close to the event I was working. I arrived to this location at 11:00 Friday evening. I was told my room was being cleaned and it would be available shortly. About a half hour to an hour goes by the lady at the front desk told me my room was then available. I proceeded to the room to find a gentleman in the said room that was being cleaned playing games. He apologized to me and stated he forgot to extend his stay. I then proceeded back down to the desk whereas the same lady that told me my room was being cleaned was. I explained her situation to her. She then goes into the back and returned after a short period of time. She was then in the process of looking for a room for me and had the nerve to say to me we can cancel your reservations and you are more than welcome to look at a hotel elsewhere. I explained to her No, as my other friends were already there and staying as we were committing together back and forth to work. About a half hour goes back and I finally got into a room. Obviously they weren’t cleaning my said room that I told they were cleaning at the beginning. When I asked to speak to a manager there was obviously not one there and I was told I needed to go through Expedia to request a refund! I was not the only patron that this happened to that evening! After working 16+ hours that day all I wanted to do was take a shower and go to bed! But finally got a room after 2 hours of a fiasco!

They overbooked and I had to go elsewhere for a room!

Be sure you call if you’re going to be late. They cancelled my PREPAID reservation after I got stranded at another airport. Wouldn’t reinstate the reservation even though the hotel was quite empty. I figured they didn’t need me so I got a refund from Expedia and went elsewhere.

My wife left behind a mirror and a small bag of jewelry. We contacted hotel mgmt and they located the items and graciously offered to mail them back to us. Thanks

I have never had to give a review like this, but the young man behind the counter should not have been placed in the position he was. Because of being short-staffed, the rooms were not ready for 3:00 pm for check-in. He was scrambling to find out if rooms were prepared for guests. Wyndham owns three other hotels in Uniontown, yet this one was understaffed for cleaning. I do not understand why this company did not send people to clean rooms there from the other hotels. People were upset and wanted their rooms. The space was adequate to spend the night. But I will not be returning there or any Wyndham hotel that would place their employees in an impossible situation like this.

Did a late check in (10 pm). And it was an hour to get a room due to them cleaning them still. Gave me my room key and when going inside. Someone was already staying in there. Wouldn’t recommend this place to my worse enemies. Everything was gross inside

The bed was not the most comfortable. Room was safe and clean. Parking is abundant and there is plenty of shopping nearby. Restaurants are close by.

Safe and convenient

It was comfortable and equipped with everything we needed. Convenient parking and great location. The breakfast was pretty good. Friendly staff. The hotel is looking a little worn, but it was lower priced than others we checked and it was just fine.

The bed wasn’t very comfortable but everything else was fine. Didn’t get a chance to try the breakfast but it seemed good. Conveniently located.

Close to event we attended

Very convenient for access to the Stone House (our Thanksgiving Dinner destination) and to Republic PA for our after dinner visit with family and friends. Very clean; comfortable furnishings. canheartily recommend this hotel.

Nothing special, and nothing good nearby

Excellent Continental breakfast. Excellent location.

Well the location was perfect for our needs. The area was free of vagrants and I did not hear sirens night and day. The hotel service was friendly. However the hotel condition was poor broken worn out furnishings, busted door locks graffiti in the elevator. The management has squeezed all the juice from that lemon of a hotel. I have stayed at other Wingate units and this one just did not meet the expectations of that chain.

I liked the location as it was close to many food options and shopping. The free breakfast was better than expected. The property needs updating, as the hallway carpet was stained (spilled bleach). In my room the sink was cracked

The breakfast was hot and available on time. The coffee was very good and the parking was sufficient. There were two issues the first being that there were only five television stations that we could get and the second issue was that the beds were a bit squeaky.

This was a last-minute booking. Check-in was great. The girl behind the desk was very helpful and nice when we got to the room things looked well, but the bathroom was gross and dirty. There looked to be what was debris on the bed handprints on the wall in the morning, the selection of food was Sparse no plastic wear. When I went to check out, I went to hand the key cards to the gentleman behind the desk, who was playing on his phone and he barely looked up and said just leave it there. The hallways were filthy and dirty towels on the floor.

The lady that check me at 12am went overboard getting me and comfortable. We had dog…zero issues. Breakfast was very good
