Loved the stay, staff was extremely helpful. Small but just enough for two people, clean. Well lit parking and right at your room so felt safer than some of the hotels I've stayed in where you are carrying your belongings across parking lots. Will definitely be back, it was just right for a beautiful weekend visiting close by Harper's Ferry and Shepherdstown. Can't wait to return

What you see is exactly what you get. I was traveling for a funeral. I didn't have to worry about elevator noise, children running above my head, trying to find parking. The Host stayed on the phone to make i can get into my room, she had someone there at 6am to plow the parking lot, she made herself available for me. The price, privacy, and the professionalism is so worth the price. I will only stay at the Knolls no other place has giving me a piece of mind. Thank you

It's a converted/renovated motel that is cozy and VERY well done. The host was kind and attentive and when there was an issue with the wifi it was promptly fixed and we were notified of the status of the fix. The room was very clean and had water in the fridge and snack available. It's set up more like an AIR B&B with digital locks and everything that you need in the kitchenette available. Definitely worth the price! Would stay again if in the area. Close to many things including VA & MD (less than 30 min drive)

They checked in to ensure the stay was going well, the room was very neat and clean with high quality. Parking is directly in front of room and easily accessible. Bed and pillows were perfect, and the overall design was very well thought out with stylish decor. Complimentary hygiene products and snacks/water/coffee, etc provided. Check in and out is essentially as easy as walking through the door. Highly recommend!

Excellent condition; newly remodeled decor and furnishings are pleasing and comfortable. Essential items for a comfortable stay are provided, including efficiency kitchen with coffeemaker, pods and creamer, toaster, microwave, good size refrigerator. Convenient to work location. As it is situated on a knoll, care must be taken when exiting onto roadway. Hostess is very nice, responsive and helpful. We will definitely stay again and again.

I appreciated the appointment of the room, the bottles of water in the fridge, ice tray, Keurig and pods, individual size SNACKS, toiletries in tubes, a travel size deodorant, and a sealed toothbrush. Newly remodeled. The owner used the last 4 digits of my phone number for easy-to-use electronic door lock. Quiet location, near a 7-11 with gasoline and a friendly bar that serves excellent burgers. I would stay there again. Close to other towns, specifically Shepherdstown, my daytime destination.

The Knoll was a fantastic get away, the room was as expected and beyond clean, they are small rooms but believe me it was a a hidden gem and a great getaway. The owners did an amazing job revamping this place and I believe all the rooms have their own theme. Ours was Boho, I fell in love with its charm and character. It was vey quite and no stress, I would recommend this highly for a couples get away.

This place made you feel like Home, very clean and comfortable. The only thing that would make it better is if the bathroom was a little bigger, shower stall is on the smaller side, but other than that, it was perfect

The room was clean and very nicely decorated. The owner provided snacks and waters which we appreciated! There is WiFi and a smart TV. We didn’t get very good sleep though because there are lights that stay on right outside the windows all night long. We tried hanging a blanket over the window but it didn’t help much. I will say if you are a taller and/or bigger person that I probably wouldn’t recommend this stay. I am 5’10 and had a difficult time in the shower stall and bathroom where it is on the smaller side. Other than those couple things it was very nice and clean and the owners are very helpful!

This is an amazing property for an affordable price with everything you need for a short stay. The property is clean, well kept, updated, stylish, and comfortable. The host is incredibly accommodating and provided most necessities you would need if you happened to forget to pack one. I will be staying at this property for any return trips to Martinsburg, WV from now on.

We needed a place to stay as we were traveling through the area and found the knolls on hotels.com. It had great reviews so we decided to give it a shot. We did not realize this when booking on hotels.com, but while this looks like a hotel or motel, it is also similar to an airbnb in the sense that there is no front desk, you communicate with the owner via text, and will need to read and agree to owners rules upon arrival. You will also need to pull the sheets off the bed and take out the trash in accordance with the checkout procedure rules. We had absolutely no problem with the rules, there weren't many and they were easy to follow, just throwing it out there in case there are guests who prefer a hotel style over the airbnb style. We were very pleased with the room, it was extremely clean and comfortable and came with complimentary snacks and waters. The owner was friendly and easy to communicate with and made us feel welcome. There was a restaurant a minute down the road that provided delicious food and drinks (ladder house bar and grill). The property was quiet and the clean and comfortable room provided us with a great stay before we continued our travels in the morning. We would definitely stay here again.

Very poor experience. Super bright outside security flood light swamps the room in light at night. Only cheap blinds on the window so nothing can be done, requiring me to go buy an eye mask. It’s so bright it casts shadows in the room and I could read the time on the wall clock. A/C heater is very loud and cycles on and off all night so bring ear plugs. In the morning I hoped to shower but even after running the water in the shower and sink for 5 minutes there was still no hot water. Bathroom is the size of my RV’s bathroom. There is no closet, ironing board or desk. Only furniture worth mentioning is the bed and one chair. There are 10 pillows on the bed (6 are decorator pillows) and the only place to put them other than on the floor is on the only chair in the room. Guests are required to read a 3 ring binder of rules then send a text message to confirm you agree to them. If you don’t follow all of them there is a $50 fine. Before checkout guests must follow a list which includes bagging all trash then taking it to the end of the driveway and putting it in a trash can. Additionally, guests must strip the bed and put the sheets and any used towels in a hamper. Advertised price was $92 per night but additional fees and taxes take the price to about $150 per night. There is nothing of note nearby so guests must drive everywhere so I will be staying elsewhere next time. I rarely write reviews but this time I felt it was necessary.

Such a sweet gem. Super comfortable, great location for what we were doing, for our length of stay (2 nites), and at a good price point. Our room was beautifully decorated and had everything we might need and more. The room was on the small side but the comfort and all the little extras more than made up for it. It was a lovely stay. I was a little concerned because I got it for so cheap but it was a wonderful surprise. I stayed for a week and the room met my needs perfectly. The room was comfortable and cozy and would be perfect for two people.

The room was quaint and relaxing. Plenty of amenities for the reasonable price. My only complaints would be the small shower. The other being too many throw pillows. Granted I am a big burly guy, others may fair well with either. Overall I enjoyed my stay and will stay there again and recommend to anyone

Loved the stay, staff was extremely helpful. Small but just enough for two people, clean. Well lit parking and right at your room so felt safer than some of the hotels I've stayed in where you are carrying your belongings across parking lots. Will definitely be back, it was just right for a beautiful weekend visiting close by Harper's Ferry and Shepherdstown. Can't wait to return

What you see is exactly what you get. I was traveling for a funeral. I didn't have to worry about elevator noise, children running above my head, trying to find parking. The Host stayed on the phone to make i can get into my room, she had someone there at 6am to plow the parking lot, she made herself available for me. The price, privacy, and the professionalism is so worth the price. I will only stay at the Knolls no other place has giving me a piece of mind. Thank you

This was my second stay at The Knolls and it won’t be my last. It is now my go to place to stay whenever I am in the Martinsburg or surrounding area. Debbie has thought of everything to make the visit comfortable. I wouldn’t change a thing!

We needed a place to stay as we were traveling through the area and found the knolls on hotels.com. It had great reviews so we decided to give it a shot. We did not realize this when booking on hotels.com, but while this looks like a hotel or motel, it is also similar to an airbnb in the sense that there is no front desk, you communicate with the owner via text, and will need to read and agree to owners rules upon arrival. You will also need to pull the sheets off the bed and take out the trash in accordance with the checkout procedure rules. We had absolutely no problem with the rules, there weren't many and they were easy to follow, just throwing it out there in case there are guests who prefer a hotel style over the airbnb style. We were very pleased with the room, it was extremely clean and comfortable and came with complimentary snacks and waters. The owner was friendly and easy to communicate with and made us feel welcome. There was a restaurant a minute down the road that provided delicious food and drinks (ladder house bar and grill). The property was quiet and the clean and comfortable room provided us with a great stay before we continued our travels in the morning. We would definitely stay here again.

Great accommodations. Newly refurbished and the management was responsive and continually checked in regarding our stay. We did not receive are invite email until a day later but the management was able to provide the information to give us access.

The room was wonderful. It was decorated beautifully and it had everything anyone would need for a trip. Debbie responded to any issues promptly and checked in while I was there. I would definitely stay here again and will recommend to anyone going to the area.

Size is about the same as a standard hotel room but I felt it was better because of the extras and comfort level- felt like home. Will stay again next year!

Very poor experience. Super bright outside security flood light swamps the room in light at night. Only cheap blinds on the window so nothing can be done, requiring me to go buy an eye mask. It’s so bright it casts shadows in the room and I could read the time on the wall clock. A/C heater is very loud and cycles on and off all night so bring ear plugs. In the morning I hoped to shower but even after running the water in the shower and sink for 5 minutes there was still no hot water. Bathroom is the size of my RV’s bathroom. There is no closet, ironing board or desk. Only furniture worth mentioning is the bed and one chair. There are 10 pillows on the bed (6 are decorator pillows) and the only place to put them other than on the floor is on the only chair in the room. Guests are required to read a 3 ring binder of rules then send a text message to confirm you agree to them. If you don’t follow all of them there is a $50 fine. Before checkout guests must follow a list which includes bagging all trash then taking it to the end of the driveway and putting it in a trash can. Additionally, guests must strip the bed and put the sheets and any used towels in a hamper. Advertised price was $92 per night but additional fees and taxes take the price to about $150 per night. There is nothing of note nearby so guests must drive everywhere so I will be staying elsewhere next time. I rarely write reviews but this time I felt it was necessary.

Such a sweet gem. Super comfortable, great location for what we were doing, for our length of stay (2 nites), and at a good price point. Our room was beautifully decorated and had everything we might need and more. The room was on the small side but the comfort and all the little extras more than made up for it. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

It's a converted/renovated motel that is cozy and VERY well done. The host was kind and attentive and when there was an issue with the wifi it was promptly fixed and we were notified of the status of the fix. The room was very clean and had water in the fridge and snack available. It's set up more like an AIR B&B with digital locks and everything that you need in the kitchenette available. Definitely worth the price! Would stay again if in the area. Close to many things including VA & MD (less than 30 min drive)

I appreciated the appointment of the room, the bottles of water in the fridge, ice tray, Keurig and pods, individual size SNACKS, toiletries in tubes, a travel size deodorant, and a sealed toothbrush. Newly remodeled. The owner used the last 4 digits of my phone number for easy-to-use electronic door lock. Quiet location, near a 7-11 with gasoline and a friendly bar that serves excellent burgers. I would stay there again. Close to other towns, specifically Shepherdstown, my daytime destination.

My husband and I spent 2 days in Martinsburg & Harper’s Ferry… the very reasonable price caught my attention but the great reviews and picture of the room made my decision…The owner Debbie was very nice to talk to and gave nice local recommendations…the room was very clean and nicely decorated…great attention to detail… the room even came with some waters and snacks and also some toiletries…she even left us a bottle of wine and a box chocolates for our anniversary!! I would highly recommend!

Newly remodeled. The owner used the last 4 digits of my phone number for easy-to-use electronic door lock. Quiet location, near a 7-11 with gasoline and a friendly bar that serves excellent burgers. I would stay there again. Close to other towns, specifically Shepherdstown, my daytime destination.

For starters, I didnt get in until late but my partner got there before I did. Not only was there a hair on the toilet, but the blanket had a huge brown stain on it. The only upside of this stay was the bed was comfy. The wifi would literally connect and then disconnect at least 50 times. We will NOT be back. Very disappointed considering the reviews were great.

A great place to stay for a single person. It was a little small for two people and the shower was teeny tiny like a cruise ship cabin shower. The bed was very comfortable and the place was super clean. Be sure to read emails and texts from the property as there is no check in on site and we disturbed a man in his home because we thought it was the office. (On the same property and painted the same color!)
