Stayed 3 nights

Upon check in found this property uninhabitable due to overpowering fragrance that was an immediate asthma trigger for my daughter. I also experienced headache, congestion and tight chest. Phoned the property owner immediately explained that we would be unable to stay due to medical reasons. Requested a refund and the property owner stated that she didn't know how to do a refund and told me that I needed to call VRBO Customer Service. Followed up with VRBO representative and explained the situation. He stated that only the property owner could give refund and he called her. She told him that she would not give a refund. We had to book a hotel instead so paid twice for accommodations for our three night stay. In addition to the fragrance problem, it was hard to locate the property as the street number was not apparent on the house. The staircase inside the house has turns and areas with out hand railing. Plastic treads on stair appeared to be a tripping hazard. I am not pleased with the change in how VRBO does business. They will not reveal the address of the property until a couple of days before check-in which limits the customer's ability to research the suitability of the property. Local residents knew this house's history as a derelict property and figure the over use of fragrance is to cover odors that could not be eliminated from the property. Disappointed in property and VRBO.

we were happy to stay so close to Oberlin College and the house was great. The kitchen had everything we need and the host was super responsive.

It was the perfect house for our visit to Oberlin. It was walking distance to all the sites and family we wanted to see. The owners have fixed the house up nicely. The backyard was still in the process of being completed and will be very nice when it is done.
