Our family ages 2 to 60 enjoyed the Red River Farmhouse for 5 nights. It was big enough for all of us. The yard was perfect for games and kids loved the goats. Most activities were within 20 minutes. The hostess was quick to answer our questions.

We loved every minute of this trip. 12 people, 3 families all fit comfortably in the farmhouse while enjoying the many amenities included in this awesome rental! Feeding the goats, sitting by the huge fire pit, star gazing laying in the hammock, swimming and kayaking in campton lake all without leaving the area aims the farmhouse. Then we thoroughly enjoyed many hikes (natural bridge, sky bridge, rock bridge, whistle arch, broke leg falls, creation falls, and jump rock) and the local eateries (Miguels, Red Point BBQ, The Brick, and Boone Coffee Shoppe). The staff at The Red River Gorge General Store were hospitable guides that provided priceless information. We also really enjoyed the mini golf and sweet treats at this location. Finally the highlight of our trip, don't miss the underground crystal kayak tours, an experience you can't get anywhere else!

The property itself has plenty of open space outside and the 2 covered decks were wonderful when it rained! Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook every night! I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the home though. Bedrooms and bathrooms were spotless, but the ceiling fans were covered in dust and the outdoor screened in porch was untouched and in disarray which was disappointing when it rained. Also, it seems that the property is mid remodel? There were random cabinets laying around on the upstairs deck and no seating out there either. The master bedroom and on-suite was really nice, very spacious shower and incredibly comfy bed. The upstairs washing machine didn’t always work and would shut off randomly mid cycle. We ended up just not using it and only using the one downstairs. Overall, not a bad stay for the location, but could use some TLC to make for a better stay.

Very Cute place - we had plenty of room for 10 adults. It was very clean - a couple of things: * outdoor furniture could be updated - the home has great outdoor space that could be used more if a little more comfortable. to be fair - it rained the whole time we were there so we were not able to use the fire pit - so the deck would have been a great option for us to use. * beds were very firm! not sure if good or bad - no tvs in the room - this would be a nice option. * we had no idea that the dishwasher was clean when we arrived - it was full - we basically hand washed our cups, ( we did not really cook in the house) therefore we did not open the dishwasher until we were leaving - so we had no idea until the last day - so we thought that the kitchen was not equiped. Overall, cute, comfortable, clean home - the goats were fun to feed!

This home is so peaceful and quiet! We spent so much time on the front porch rocking away while my grandchildren played in the lovely front yard and feeding the goats💕. I have never stayed in a rented home that was as well stocked in the kitchen as this one. The beds were comfy and the master shower felt wonderful. We had fires every evening and roasted smores. Lovely!

We loved feeding the goat carrots every day. Everything was great and anytime I had a question I had an answer very fast. Having the ability to use kayaks was the main reason we booked it however it just ended up not working out that we went kayaking this trip maybe next time.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the farmhouse! There was plenty of space for the “full time” 5 adults and 2 kids, plus an extra 2 adults and 3 kids at meals and playtime. The kitchen is spacious and well stocked; we used it to prepare all of our family meals. The fire pit was large enough to accommodate our whole family with space to spare and the kids enjoyed making some tasty s’mores over the campfire. The location is convenient to any number of hiking spots and other attractions. The friendly goats, always looking for a handout, were a ‘hit’ with both kids and adults.

We spent most of our spring break at this wonderful house that is just a few minutes from the trails at Red River Gorge. There were six adults, two young children and one dog in our group, and we had plenty of room in this spacious, cozy and incredibly clean house. Our kiddos (and adults, too) loved feeding the sheep each day, and we all enjoyed the big fire pit outside in addition to the fireplace inside when it rained. The communication with our hosts was flawless. I had to contact them twice during our stay and had a reply each time in less than five minutes. The house is big, well equipped (we cooked every night) and the wrap around deck (first and second floors, covered) allows everyone to stretch out and enjoy the sunsets and sunrises. There’s also a side patio with plenty of seating that is screened and has a grill. This was our first time staying in Campton and everyone in town was very friendly. We normally stay closer to RRG because we like quick access to trails, but this property is actually not that far away — and the seclusion you’ll experience (no other cabins nearby) is well worth the short drive to the trails. If you have a family, you’ll love this place. It’s stocked with board games and the kiddos were able to stream movies with no problems. Adults could work with ease when needed and we had no issues whatsoever with the wireless internet. We’ll definitely be back!

This was our first family vacation. Overall we enjoyed staying here. There were a couple issues. First two drawer handles in the kitchen and diningroom fell apart into pieces when we tried to open them. Second, the upstairs washer and dryer didn’t work. Third, the butcher block island had a sticky film to it. And fourth the lake was not across from the road. You needed to drive the kayaks down the road and up a steep hill so we didn’t use them. However, the bedrooms were nice and comfortable and there was lots of outdoor sitting all around the balcony and out by the fire. Our young grandchildren loved feeding the goats at least more than once a day. I would give this rental an 8 out of 10. Thanks to the owner for answering all my questions along the way.

My kids were obsessed with the goats. They were sweet and gentle. The place is clean and cozy. Our family was able to relax. Great kitchen to cook with everything you need. There’s a lake 1 minute away where we kayaked and fished. You can cook s’mores by the fire. The hiking was 15 minutes away and amazing views. The host responded to all my questions so fast! When we left my family was asking when we could come back.

This house is in my top 2 ever for being well stocked with everything. The kitchen was fully stocked with very nice cookware and dishes. The host thought of everything you might need while away from home. The house was very clean! We had a great time and got to feed the sheep. The weather was cold so we didn't get to take advantage of the screened in porch and lovely deck area. I would recommend this house to anyone. Thank you so much Tracy!

If you want to hike, bike, climb, kayak, chill with your dog(s) or pretty much do anything Red River Gorge/Daniel Boone Nat'l Forest has to offer, this is your house. It's within 15-20 min of EVERYTHING. The house is super clean. The beds are comfy. Two full-size washers and dryers. The most killer AC units on BOTH floors. You will not be warm ever despite KY heat. Nice farm decor throughout the house (not cheesy). The outside property is lovely. Brought me back to my youth. The lamb and sheep are super cool. Lots of grass that we used to run dogs, play frisbee, football, etc... with our son. And they are not kidding about the internet. We did work teams meetings, my son did school zoom meetings and we uploaded lots of pics and videos at lighting speed at all times. TV is way more than you will ever need. We sat on the front porch often on nice days or evenings and the wifi is very strong out there as well so we could get some work done in between all the play. Lastly, Tracy is an amazing communicator. No matter what you need. She always answered VRBO messages or texts within minutes. There is no other house in the area that can compete particularly at the price they are charging (which is way less than it should be). Just stay here. You will find yourself.

Clean, updated “farmhouse” style, cozy cabin…very nice kitchen, fully equipped. As it said in the description, all things we went to (trails, restaurants, etc) were 10-15 min away. Pictures little deceiving, pretty setting but not as private as we expected Enjoyed our stay

If you want to hike, bike, climb, kayak, chill with your dog(s) or pretty much do anything Red River Gorge/Daniel Boone Nat'l Forest has to offer, this is your house. It's within 15-20 min of EVERYTHING. The house is super clean. The beds are comfy. Two full-size washers and dryers. The most killer AC units on BOTH floors. You will not be warm ever despite KY heat. Nice farm decor throughout the house (not cheesy). The outside property is lovely. Brought me back to my youth. The lamb and sheep are super cool. Lots of grass that we used to run dogs, play frisbee, football, etc... with our son. And they are not kidding about the internet. We did work teams meetings, my son did school zoom meetings and we uploaded lots of pics and videos at lighting speed at all times. TV is way more than you will ever need. We sat on the front porch often on nice days or evenings and the wifi is very strong out there as well so we could get some work done in between all the play. Lastly, Tracy is an amazing communicator. No matter what you need. She always answered VRBO messages or texts within minutes. There is no other house in the area that can compete particularly at the price they are charging (which is way less than it should be). Just stay here. You will find yourself.

Great location for the family. The lower floor was perfect for our elderly parents since everything they needed was on one floor. The walk-in shower was a true bonus. The family really enjoyed the place and all the things to do in the area. Feeding the goats was really cool. Would recommend the place to anyone for a relaxing getaway.

Our family ages 2 to 60 enjoyed the Red River Farmhouse for 5 nights. It was big enough for all of us. The yard was perfect for games and kids loved the goats. Most activities were within 20 minutes. The hostess was quick to answer our questions.

We were looking to stay near Red River Gorge to spend a few days away for my husband’s 45th birthday. The property is very well kept, clean, and very thoughtfully decorated. The dual wrap around deck provides plenty of outdoor shelter and even has one side enclosed with outdoor furniture to enjoy the outside while avoiding the bugs at night or eating dinner. If you are traveling with children or a herd of elephants, you may consider choosing an upstairs bedroom. Otherwise you will hear everything going on above you from the downstairs bedroom. Other than the internal acoustics, we were very pleased with Tracy and her husband who were both extremely helpful and accommodating. Would stay with them again, very well recommended. We had a great time climbing at the Red and using this house as our home base. The host is super responsive and easy to communicate with and we found the location extremely convenient. One word of caution for light sleepers in the master bedroom - the floorboards above are very creaky. Creaks from the footsteps of family in the room above woke me up every time and it was my bad luck that they were frequent middle of the night bathroom users and extreme early risers! The furnace is also housed in a closet in the bedroom and it’s pretty loud when it’s fired up. Not a big issue at night since we kept the temp down.

Very Cute place - we had plenty of room for 10 adults. It was very clean - a couple of things: * outdoor furniture could be updated - the home has great outdoor space that could be used more if a little more comfortable. to be fair - it rained the whole time we were there so we were not able to use the fire pit - so the deck would have been a great option for us to use. * beds were very firm! not sure if good or bad - no tvs in the room - this would be a nice option. * we had no idea that the dishwasher was clean when we arrived - it was full - we basically hand washed our cups, ( we did not really cook in the house) therefore we did not open the dishwasher until we were leaving - so we had no idea until the last day - so we thought that the kitchen was not equiped. Overall, cute, comfortable, clean home - the goats were fun to feed!

This home is so peaceful and quiet! We spent so much time on the front porch rocking away while my grandchildren played in the lovely front yard and feeding the goats💕. I have never stayed in a rented home that was as well stocked in the kitchen as this one. The beds were comfy and the master shower felt wonderful. We had fires every evening and roasted smores. Lovely!

My kids were obsessed with the goats. They were sweet and gentle. The place is clean and cozy. Our family was able to relax. Great kitchen to cook with everything you need. There’s a lake 1 minute away where we kayaked and fished. You can cook s’mores by the fire. The hiking was 15 minutes away and amazing views. The host responded to all my questions so fast! When we left my family was asking when we could come back.

Tracy was amazing! We booked the night before arriving and the communication was excellent. Very nice home with lots of grass for our dogs to run. We loved the ground floor of the home as it had everything we needed!

We had a great time at the farm house. My son loved visiting and feeding the goats. It was a short drive to trails for hiking and we enjoyed kayaking. House was as advertised and it was very easy to contact the host and they were quick to respond. : )

We loved feeding the goat carrots every day. Everything was great and anytime I had a question I had an answer very fast. Having the ability to use kayaks was the main reason we booked it however it just ended up not working out that we went kayaking this trip maybe next time.

We spent most of our spring break at this wonderful house that is just a few minutes from the trails at Red River Gorge. There were six adults, two young children and one dog in our group, and we had plenty of room in this spacious, cozy and incredibly clean house. Our kiddos (and adults, too) loved feeding the sheep each day, and we all enjoyed the big fire pit outside in addition to the fireplace inside when it rained. The communication with our hosts was flawless. I had to contact them twice during our stay and had a reply each time in less than five minutes. The house is big, well equipped (we cooked every night) and the wrap around deck (first and second floors, covered) allows everyone to stretch out and enjoy the sunsets and sunrises. There’s also a side patio with plenty of seating that is screened and has a grill. This was our first time staying in Campton and everyone in town was very friendly. We normally stay closer to RRG because we like quick access to trails, but this property is actually not that far away — and the seclusion you’ll experience (no other cabins nearby) is well worth the short drive to the trails. If you have a family, you’ll love this place. It’s stocked with board games and the kiddos were able to stream movies with no problems. Adults could work with ease when needed and we had no issues whatsoever with the wireless internet. We’ll definitely be back!

The property was nice. A short drive off the town's Main Street. If you're looking to be outside of the Gorge, this place is it as most spots in Slade and the surrounding area are between 25-30 minutes away.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the farmhouse! There was plenty of space for the “full time” 5 adults and 2 kids, plus an extra 2 adults and 3 kids at meals and playtime. The kitchen is spacious and well stocked; we used it to prepare all of our family meals. The fire pit was large enough to accommodate our whole family with space to spare and the kids enjoyed making some tasty s’mores over the campfire. The location is convenient to any number of hiking spots and other attractions. The friendly goats, always looking for a handout, were a ‘hit’ with both kids and adults.

My kids were obsessed with the goats. They were sweet and gentle. The place is clean and cozy. Our family was able to relax. Great kitchen to cook with everything you need. There’s a lake 1 minute away where we kayaked and fished. You can cook s’mores by the fire. The hiking was 15 minutes away and amazing views. The host responded to all my questions so fast! When we left my family was asking when we could come back.

This house is in my top 2 ever for being well stocked with everything. The kitchen was fully stocked with very nice cookware and dishes. The host thought of everything you might need while away from home. The house was very clean! We had a great time and got to feed the sheep. The weather was cold so we didn't get to take advantage of the screened in porch and lovely deck area. I would recommend this house to anyone. Thank you so much Tracy!

The property itself has plenty of open space outside and the 2 covered decks were wonderful when it rained! Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook every night! I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the home though. Bedrooms and bathrooms were spotless, but the ceiling fans were covered in dust and the outdoor screened in porch was untouched and in disarray which was disappointing when it rained. Also, it seems that the property is mid remodel? There were random cabinets laying around on the upstairs deck and no seating out there either. The master bedroom and on-suite was really nice, very spacious shower and incredibly comfy bed. The upstairs washing machine didn’t always work and would shut off randomly mid cycle. We ended up just not using it and only using the one downstairs. Overall, not a bad stay for the location, but could use some TLC to make for a better stay.

Very Cute place - we had plenty of room for 10 adults. It was very clean - a couple of things: * outdoor furniture could be updated - the home has great outdoor space that could be used more if a little more comfortable. to be fair - it rained the whole time we were there so we were not able to use the fire pit - so the deck would have been a great option for us to use. * beds were very firm! not sure if good or bad - no tvs in the room - this would be a nice option. * we had no idea that the dishwasher was clean when we arrived - it was full - we basically hand washed our cups, ( we did not really cook in the house) therefore we did not open the dishwasher until we were leaving - so we had no idea until the last day - so we thought that the kitchen was not equiped. Overall, cute, comfortable, clean home - the goats were fun to feed!

This home is so peaceful and quiet! We spent so much time on the front porch rocking away while my grandchildren played in the lovely front yard and feeding the goats💕. I have never stayed in a rented home that was as well stocked in the kitchen as this one. The beds were comfy and the master shower felt wonderful. We had fires every evening and roasted smores. Lovely!

We very much enjoyed our stay at the farmhouse! There was plenty of space for the “full time” 5 adults and 2 kids, plus an extra 2 adults and 3 kids at meals and playtime. The kitchen is spacious and well stocked; we used it to prepare all of our family meals. The fire pit was large enough to accommodate our whole family with space to spare and the kids enjoyed making some tasty s’mores over the campfire. The location is convenient to any number of hiking spots and other attractions. The friendly goats, always looking for a handout, were a ‘hit’ with both kids and adults.

We spent most of our spring break at this wonderful house that is just a few minutes from the trails at Red River Gorge. There were six adults, two young children and one dog in our group, and we had plenty of room in this spacious, cozy and incredibly clean house. Our kiddos (and adults, too) loved feeding the sheep each day, and we all enjoyed the big fire pit outside in addition to the fireplace inside when it rained. The communication with our hosts was flawless. I had to contact them twice during our stay and had a reply each time in less than five minutes. The house is big, well equipped (we cooked every night) and the wrap around deck (first and second floors, covered) allows everyone to stretch out and enjoy the sunsets and sunrises. There’s also a side patio with plenty of seating that is screened and has a grill. This was our first time staying in Campton and everyone in town was very friendly. We normally stay closer to RRG because we like quick access to trails, but this property is actually not that far away — and the seclusion you’ll experience (no other cabins nearby) is well worth the short drive to the trails. If you have a family, you’ll love this place. It’s stocked with board games and the kiddos were able to stream movies with no problems. Adults could work with ease when needed and we had no issues whatsoever with the wireless internet. We’ll definitely be back!

While we were sad to miss the goats we knew the weather was going to be cold. Location was perfect. Quiet but close enough to drive to red river gorge area with no issues. We enjoyed the rocking chairs outside and playing games at the table in main area. Host allowed us to check in a few minutes early which was greatly appreciated! We would definitely go back!
