Stayed 3 nights

The house is as described, nicely decorated, and very convenient to downtown Muskegon. The neighborhood it is located in is quite varied. One street up is the beautiful historic area and houses while the houses on either side of the rental are in pretty bad condition, one may even have been boarded up. I never felt unsafe, but I also never felt totally comfortable either. Overall, my family and I did enjoy this house for our stay, the kids really enjoyed the game table and having their own spaces in the house.

We loved our stay at this property. The house was beautiful. When we needed assistance, our host, Devonnte, responded quite quickly. We highly recommend this charming house if you're visiting Muskegon

Stayed 3 nights

Our stay was just ok. There were some minor issues that we didn’t raise at the time such as no hand soap in bathroom, we ran out of toilet paper the last day. I realize these likely would have been resolved if we said something, but since they were little things we let it go. However after checking out we were requested to pay a cleaning fee for pets. They claimed our dog left so much dog hair they had to bring in extra cleaners and vacuum 3 times, wash the linens “several” times, and wipe down every surface, including changing air and furnace filters. This was after only a 3 night stay. When I asked to see a billing invoice for the extra cleaning fees incurred, I was told they own their own cleaning company. I was also told I was charged this pet fee because I didn’t disclose upon booking that I had a pet, even though the property is listed as pet friendly. The property manager sent photos, which show some hair on the rug, their dirty baseboards, and a stain on their floor, not from us. The house itself was just ok. The yard was fenced in, but the gate didn’t even latch, so a dog could easily escape. Also the grass was un-mowed and was about ankle high. There are houses in the neighborhood close by that are boarded up but a block or two away the houses are much nicer. The stay here wasn’t bad but I definitely do not recommend staying here unless you want to incur excessive cleaning fees.

Stayed 4 nights

The online pictures here do not give an accurate depiction of the disaster that awaits you. The house is OLD - which is fine - but it’s FULL of insects. Spiders, rolly pollies, ear wigs, all of them. The upstairs appealed to me since we traveled with kids, but it was so infested with spiders my kids couldn’t sleep up there. They tried, but our daughter woke up with spiders in the bed. The couches downstairs, “leather” ones, were so torn up that they were painful to sit on. I had to purchase beach towels to tuck into the them so we could sit. The house had obviously not been cleaned. We found trash in the primary bedroom. Hair - both human and animal - coated the linens and I had to wash everything before we could sleep. Hair, hair ties and crusted toothpaste were found in the bathroom. And the cherry to top it off - a rat trap in the kitchen cabinets. Speaking of, the kitchen was horribly stocked. You can’t offer a family sized home and then not stock it so a family could cook there. The house is in a rough neighborhood next to an abandoned property. The back yard offers a tarp covered fire pit. No chairs in sight, so pack camp chairs if you plan to try to enjoy it. The only perk was the washer/dryer set since I had to wash EVERYTHING. Prior to our stay the host was lovely and easy to work with. I’m so disappointed our trip went the way it did.
