Took my elderly parents and grand kids for a weekend getaway. We had a great tine. The place was clean and spacious. Restroom I. Every bedroom was a plus. Front four was challenging to get in but once the cleaning haft came and explained you gave to really push hard to open it once you enter your key code. Also no site if the bicycles. But the Janet was nice and allowed us a later check out. I will be back to visit this home more in the future

Wow! Absolutely delighted with this property. We were a party of 6 from the UK attending a wedding at the nearby ice plant building, which was only a 3 minute walk away. There is a HEB (supermarket) within walking distance and plenty of local places to visit. The rooms were spacious, beds super cumfy and knowing that we were British the host had left tea and biscuits with the informative welcome pack. We didn't need to contact Caroline once, as this is a professionally managed home with everything you need for a short or long stay. If anything we wished we stayed longer than 2 nights! Highly recommended.

My husband and I enjoyed a weekend at the Ginger Jar as our home base while seeing performances in Gonzales, La Grange and Winedale. We enjoyed the patio each evening and had family over for lunch one day - all raved about the charming decor. Everything we needed was provided and high quality. The train (which is fully disclosed) is no joke and it did come by 3 times a night. It worked for our short stay without any early mornings but be aware.

The house was perfect for our sister getaway! The only downside of our stay was the lawn was overgrown and the bike tires needed some air other than that the stay was great! We really enjoyed the porches!

The house was perfect for two couples. All the amenities you would need for cooking and lounging. Beds were very comfortable and everything was clean. The host was easy to contact and gave very clear instructions for checkin and out. Yes it is next to the train tracks but it didn’t affect our sleep. Overall, great location, welcoming and comfortable house that has been beautifully decorated. Would book again!

Wonderful girls week of RoundTop shopping. Well equipped with all comforts of home. Host excellent to deal with and had already anticipated our needs. If you read other reviews you know the home is located beside a RR track. Host is very up front about location. Host has earplugs in every room. We were so tired from all our shopping we just rolled right over. We would definitely stay again if in the area.

If you are a fan of HGTV, you will see that this house is the "after," the big reveal on your favorite design show. The house is absolutely beautiful, and if you\'re like me, you\'ll take a lot of photos so you can copy parts of the design when you get home. But not only is it beautiful, it\'s totally comfortable. Every thoughtful touch you can imagine is there. We couldn\'t have asked for a better stay. The bathrooms have great tubs, clawfeet, and one corner tub that is huge. The beds are comfortable and there are lots of warm covers and pillows if you need them. The kitchen is equipped for anything. I couldn\'t think of a single thing that I might have needed that wasn\'t there. The yard and the porches are also beautiful. We had some very nice weather while we were there and enjoyed sitting outside in the comfy chairs. I can\'t wait to come and stay again. I was there this time for Round Top (very convenient but out of the fray) and I would go back just to enjoy the house. And I live on Long Island. ;-) You will not regret choosing this house. You will just not want to leave. Caroline was a great host (and, again, decorator!) and she responded within minutes to any questions we had. We didn\'t have many--there is a book that tells you all about the house, not to mention that Caroline provided all the information you need to check in and get settled before we even arrived.

This is a charming home in a quiet neighborhood. We stayed in La Grange while touring the painted churches in near by towns. This was a great place to come home to. The house was clean, beautifully furnished and we loved having extra space for everyone in our party. Caroline was easy to communicate with and very responsive. Excellent stay.

This was one the best rental properties I've stayed at. Very clean and nicely decorated. Beds were super comfortable and there were plenty of amenities--coffee, towels, etc. The backyard was huge and provided a lot of fun for the kids. In walking distance to HEB, too. We spent Father's Day weekend here remembering our dad, who had recently passed. Thank you so much for the great stay.

We had friends that were playing at Bugle Boy. The house was locate close by to the restaurant we all met at and to Bugle Boy. The house was very cute and clean. Loved drinking my morning coffee on the back porch.

Gorgeous home, decorated so tastefully. Perfect location and closet to everything we were doing. Alot being said on reviews about the train, however, we did not have any issues with that. We had 2 trains pass when we were home and neither one woke us up, so that was a complete non-issue. It was very nice that the hosts had earplugs set around just in case, but they weren't needed for us. Bedding was super cozy and everything was easy to use and find. We will definitely stay here next time we are in La Grange!

This house was so lovely, with whimsical and lovely furnishings and decor. It was roomy and delightful, with all amenities and a check-out process that was so hospitable as well. The only downsides were no showers, only bathtubs, in the downstairs baths (the shower is a cute little shower in the laundry room), in case you're wanting a big shower, and it truly is right beside the train tracks and one or two (sometimes three) trains come through with no set schedule. These two things were just minor things to us, but something to consider if that's important to you. The owner gave us plenty of heads up about the train and provides ear plugs for sleeping. We enjoyed all the cute touches of all the fun dishes she had stocked in the kitchen. This property has been very thoughtfully prepared for the guest and does a great job of anticipating wants and needs of guests. A great place. We would definitely stay there again!

The stay was great, beds were very comfy and everything very clean. We stayed because it was walking distance to the wedding venue. Only complaint is the train is a stones throw away so be prepared with some ear plugs.

The house is beautiful and very accommodating. Everything worked as it should and had all of the comforts of home. Caroline is an excellent host and very attentive to any questions. The location is excellent as well. Adequate reference to the train are pointed out in advance so we were prepared for that as well. We had a very nice stay!

The host was easy to contact and gave very clear instructions for checkin and out. Yes it is next to the train tracks but it didn’t affect our sleep. Wonderful girls week of RoundTop shopping. Well equipped with all comforts of home. Host excellent to deal with and had already anticipated our needs. If you read other reviews you know the home is located beside a RR track. Host is very up front about location. Host has earplugs in every room. We were so tired from all our shopping we just rolled right over. We would definitely stay again if in the area.

Gorgeous home, decorated so tastefully. Perfect location and closet to everything we were doing. Alot being said on reviews about the train, however, we did not have any issues with that. We had 2 trains pass when we were home and neither one woke us up, so that was a complete non-issue. It was very nice that the hosts had earplugs set around just in case, but they weren't needed for us. Bedding was super cozy and everything was easy to use and find. We will definitely stay here next time we are in La Grange!

This house was perfect for our weekend wedding. It was walking distance to the Ice Plant Building which made it very convenient for us as wedding guests and my son who was in the wedding party. The train was an added fun thing to experience. It did not keep us up, as we were tired after all our activities. I would recommend this house.

We had friends that were playing at Bugle Boy. The house was locate close by to the restaurant we all met at and to Bugle Boy. The house was very cute and clean. Loved drinking my morning coffee on the back porch.

Perfect location for Round Top Antique Fair. The house is so charming and adorable! HEB right up the street. Beds are comfy and kitchen is stocked. We had a blast and would definitely rent again. Train is of note but we laughed it off! Overall a 10 out of 10!

What a lovely property. We enjoyed sitting on the porches and cooling off in the cowboy pool in the evening. It was in close proximity to downtown so we were able to get in some antique shopping and grab meals too. Thank you Caroline for having the house stocked with everything we needed for the weekend stay. Your house is beautiful!

Wow! Absolutely delighted with this property. We were a party of 6 from the UK attending a wedding at the nearby ice plant building, which was only a 3 minute walk away. There is a HEB (supermarket) within walking distance and plenty of local places to visit. The rooms were spacious, beds super cumfy and knowing that we were British the host had left tea and biscuits with the informative welcome pack. We didn't need to contact Caroline once, as this is a professionally managed home with everything you need for a short or long stay. If anything we wished we stayed longer than 2 nights! Highly recommended.

Really enjoyed this quaint home. Close to everything. Pretty little neighborhood. Train is right by house but we loved the sounds from the train. Home is very comfy with everything we needed. Caroline was very sweet to answer all our questions and supply us with coffee. Kitchen well stocked with dishes. We will be back.

The property was lovely and comfortable and the host was helpful and responsive. My husband and I enjoyed a weekend at the Ginger Jar as our home base while seeing performances in Gonzales, La Grange and Winedale. We enjoyed the patio each evening and had family over for lunch one day - all raved about the charming decor. Everything we needed was provided and high quality. The train (which is fully disclosed) is no joke and it did come by 3 times a night. It worked for our short stay without any early mornings but be aware.

If you are a fan of HGTV, you will see that this house is the "after," the big reveal on your favorite design show. The house is absolutely beautiful, and if you\'re like me, you\'ll take a lot of photos so you can copy parts of the design when you get home. But not only is it beautiful, it\'s totally comfortable. Every thoughtful touch you can imagine is there. We couldn\'t have asked for a better stay. The bathrooms have great tubs, clawfeet, and one corner tub that is huge. The beds are comfortable and there are lots of warm covers and pillows if you need them. The kitchen is equipped for anything. I couldn\'t think of a single thing that I might have needed that wasn\'t there. The yard and the porches are also beautiful. We had some very nice weather while we were there and enjoyed sitting outside in the comfy chairs. I can\'t wait to come and stay again. I was there this time for Round Top (very convenient but out of the fray) and I would go back just to enjoy the house. And I live on Long Island. ;-) You will not regret choosing this house. You will just not want to leave. Caroline was a great host (and, again, decorator!) and she responded within minutes to any questions we had. We didn\'t have many--there is a book that tells you all about the house, not to mention that Caroline provided all the information you need to check in and get settled before we even arrived.

Wow is right! 5 women attending the Cowboy gathering (a3 day dance) booked this air B and B. It was perfect. Kitchen well stocked and clean and remodeled with all conveniences. Our 3 Bedrooms were very comfortable and nice from the beds to the bathrooms and so clean and comfortable. The decore was amazing calling with the beautiful hardwood floors and wainscoting! Needless to say I wanted to move in.. The host was incredible and was quick to get back with us on questions!!

Me and my bridesmaids stayed at Caroline’s place the night before my wedding, and then we spent our first night as husband and wife there! It’s so cutely decorated and very cozy! I am obsessed with the chandelier in the dining area. Caroline went above and beyond as a host. She left water bottles in the fridge, there was coffee and tea you could make, and she even sent me delicious cupcakes right when we arrived in town :) 10/10 recommend!
