I booked this property based on the pictures and reviews, hoping for a quiet, relaxing getaway with my husband. While we managed to have an enjoyable weekend, the stay came with some challenges.Pros:Location & Views: The house offers a beautiful view of the lake and is conveniently close to Harper’s Ferry and Charles Town.Amenities: The hot tub was clean and relaxing—it was great they provided beach towels specifically for it. Fresh coffee beans, a grinder, and a French press were also a nice touch. And, there were a lot of spices, an extra bottle of propane for the grill, leftover firewood, and bath amenities.Cons:Cleanliness & Maintenance: The porch was covered in dead leaves and spider webs and in need of power washing. Similarly, the screened-in porch had heavy cobwebs and debris along the railings, which obscured the lake view when sitting. The landscaping leading down to the firepit and dock was heavily overgrown (unlike what is pictured).Kitchen & Grilling: The grill wasn't clean, the drip pan was missing, and the top was broken. The kitchen had a lot of appliances (instapot, crockpot..) but there were only two mismatched "wine" glasses and a definite need for more forks. Mechanical Issues: The A/C condenser wasn't working. Fortunately, the nights were cool and we could open the windows that actually had screens.Overall, it's a lovely spot, but it needs a bit more deep cleaning and maintenance to truly live up to its potential.

Such a beautiful property - comfy - well stocked kitchen - amazing views and totally peaceful. We went to some vineyards - highly recommend Bozzo Family Vineyards only 15 mins away. Easy drive into Charlestown for shopping and exploring. Would love to return for a quick getaway from DC!

Mountain Mama was such a peaceful getaway! The kitchen was fully stocked with lots of cookware and the sitting areas were so cozy. We really enjoyed the hot tub at night with views of the lake.
