Great place for a getaway! Located near a ski resort, the accommodation is fantastic. It's cozy and well-equipped with all kitchen amenities. The highlight, however, is definitely the sauna. Absolutely superb!

The vrbo met all our needs. Anything we could possibly need from the kitchen was available. There was plenty of room for the four of us to be comfortable. We had questions about the station settings for the TV We called the owner and he answered and walked us through the set up and answered all our questions. We also enjoyed the sauna on the property. :)

This was the second time we have stayed at George's Hilltop Retreat (the first time was one year before). It is difficult finding places to stay that allow dogs, especially dogs that weigh more than 20 lbs. That is one of the things I like about George's. Not only are dogs welcome, but there are supplies in the house to make the stay with dogs easier for the guests (couch covers, food dishes, etc.). Also, there's a nice amount of outdoor space, as well as a firepit. We went up the trail to the top of the hill to view the Northern Lights. Beautiful area to do so. Both years, we have had a comfortable, enjoyable stay.

Great place, 5 min. from slopes. Kids loved the sauna after a long day of skiing. We enjoyed a fire in the fire pit each night. Walk to the top of the adjacent property was great for the dog each morning and beautiful view of Crystal Mtn.

Booked this due to proximity to Crystal moutain ( less then 5 miles) pet friendly. Very clean well stocked with items you might forget. Nice trails to walk the dogs.

Visiting family for the holiday, but with 2 dogs and a toddler, our own space is a must. This place has all the amenities we needed and more! Kitchen is well stocked with pots/pans, cutting boards, knives, etc. everything needed to prepare your own meals. There's also a washer and dryer which is nice to have in case of any wardrobe emergencies (toddler). The sectional couch has an attached pullout ottoman that converts it into a huge couch/bed hybrid, and there is a big flat screen TV - awesome for family movie time. Our dogs loved running through the field that's right across the street and belongs to the property owners as well. It snowed quite a bit during our stay and there was someone to shovel and salt the deck, front stoop, and walkways. We could tell the family who owns this place puts a lot of care into maintaining the property and making guests feel comfortable and welcome. We can't wait to come back the next time we visit the area!

Finding the cottage was easy. It was clean, spacious and comfortable. It was well stocked and nice for a family of 5. We enjoyed the hammocks, the deck, bonfire pit (mosquitoes were bad), and the charcoal grill! The pull out coaches were perfect and the blinds to keep it dark were Great! Really the only complaint we had were the neighbors. The loud vehicles and constant yelling and cussing at their dog. Not the Owners fault but disappointing to hear that when enjoying such a peaceful looking cottage in what I would describe the perfect northern cottage experience. For older children that might not be an issue. Overall I like to think we would and could rent again and enjoy ourselves. We were able to travel to Traverse City and Leland in less than a hour. Thank you for such a lovely place to make memories!

We were in the area to check out some of the local disc golf courses. The house was as described. Very well stocked and close to what we needed. The television was a little tricky to get working properly but we were able to figure it out eventually. We did not use the sauna, but did use the fire pit which was lovely to have. There was a dog that wandered into the yard from next door. It took a moment to get the people to come get him. Our dog is nervous around new dogs so we had to make sure we were keeping an eye out in case he wandered back over. Pretty sure he was using the yard for his bathroom as there were a few poop piles that did not come from our critter kid. Overall we enjoyed our time here and found everything to be great!

Super cute house with lovely property we used to hike around with our dog and watch the sun set and rise. The sauna was great! The only issue was the little step down by the hallway. Every one of us stubbed our toes on it within 5 minutes of being in the house! The rest of the time we were there made up for the toes though!

We really had a nice weekend. It is super pet friendly and our dogs enjoyed their weekend as well. There are walking trails for the dogs and there is a dog park about 15 min away. They have couch covers for the dogs which was great and looked better than the mismatch of sheets I always bring to cover. We took in a show in manistee and spent an afternoon in traverse city. Kitchen is well stocked with everything you need. There are plenty of towels too. The sauna was great and such a nice feature to have. My only complaint is the main bed is super hard. My shoulder and hip joints were super sore from it. They have pull out beds in the living room with a memory foam pad so I slept a little better on that, but pull out beds aren’t the most comfortable either. If we stay again, I would bring a camping mat to put on the main bed. Quiet and peaceful there. Also, everything well labeled with good instructions. Everything was very clean! Thanks for a great weekend.

Wonderful and convenient location allowing us easy access to Crystal Mountain for our overnight ski vacation. The living room was very spacious and the home was warm and clean. The board games and pantry essentials were much appreciated and extra blankets and pillows made it so each member of our family slept comfortably. We definitely hope to stay again. Thank you!

We were in the area to check out some of the local disc golf courses. The house was as described. Very well stocked and close to what we needed. We enjoyed our stay at the Copemish Cottage. The cottage was clean and had everything you would need. It was within driving distance to Point Betsie, Frankfort, the OMP, wonderful vineyards, orchards, and the beach. Our two labs enjoyed the walks through the trails multiple times a day. The pizza at the nearby gas station was absolutely delicious. Probably the best pizza we’ve ever had. We would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay in this little cottage. The trail across the gravel road that led up to the hilltop was a daily favorite with our dog. It was really nice to be able to take him away from the village and into the woods so easily. We appreciated that there wasn't carpeting. The floors were clean and the whole atmosphere was inviting. The neighbor wasn't exactly cheerful but the kids were friendly when we met them on the road. The location is accessible to so much "up north". We returned twice to Arcadia beach which is dog friendly and a relatively short drive away. We would come back. When we asked a question about the outside light, someone showed up in minutes to figure it out.

Nice little cozy cabin. Very well stocked with dishes, towels, etc. No hair dryer which I expected would be there. Also, the fireplace didn’t light. Maybe it just needs a good cleaning. Other than that, very nice place. Comfortable bed, good shower and hot water pressure. Great location. Also recommend the Bear Claw Cafe for breakfast in Copemish, excellent food and service.

Worked out great! Bug repellent a must! The ac was just in a bedroom so it was a little warm and the tv in the bedroom didn’t work. For the time we were there it worked great!

The cottage is centrally located, close to Crystal Mountain, Traverse City, Frankfort and interlochen. Very peaceful, dog friendly - my dog loved to run in the meadow and fields. We enjoyed our stay in this little cottage. The trail across the gravel road that led up to the hilltop was a daily favorite with our dog. It was really nice to be able to take him away from the village and into the woods so easily. We appreciated that there wasn't carpeting. The floors were clean and the whole atmosphere was inviting. The neighbor wasn't exactly cheerful but the kids were friendly when we met them on the road. The location is accessible to so much "up north". We returned twice to Arcadia beach which is dog friendly and a relatively short drive away. We would come back. When we asked a question about the outside light, someone showed up in minutes to figure it out.

Cottage was exactly as anticipated and communication with host in response to a question was answered quickly.We all enjoyed this comfortable cottage, and use of the fire pit one evening.Easy drive to Iron Fish Distillery and so many great hiking trails.

Visiting family for the holiday, but with 2 dogs and a toddler, our own space is a must. This place has all the amenities we needed and more! Kitchen is well stocked with pots/pans, cutting boards, knives, etc. everything needed to prepare your own meals. There's also a washer and dryer which is nice to have in case of any wardrobe emergencies (toddler). The sectional couch has an attached pullout ottoman that converts it into a huge couch/bed hybrid, and there is a big flat screen TV - awesome for family movie time. Our dogs loved running through the field that's right across the street and belongs to the property owners as well. It snowed quite a bit during our stay and there was someone to shovel and salt the deck, front stoop, and walkways. We could tell the family who owns this place puts a lot of care into maintaining the property and making guests feel comfortable and welcome. We can't wait to come back the next time we visit the area!

The house was perfectly equipped for our stay— enjoyed the back patio table and small yard for our buddy to run and play in. The next door neighbor at the end of the road had their yellow dog that was always off leash outside and ran up to our truck when arriving back a couple times. I didn’t expect a neighbor because the listing mentions 10 acres of land, but it’s really across the street! Nice trail to walk up and see a view of the mountain! We had a note on their board that said the sauna was under repairs which really was a huge bummer since I picked this cottage because of the sauna. They refunded be my $50 dog fee once the two owners realized they had miscommunicated to us that it was down when it actually wasn’t? I guess my recommendation would be to reach out and ask regardless of their note because it could be an error! I told them after the fact because if it under repair— it’s under repair, all I can do is say I was disappointed so I did. And he mentioned it was all good and just a miscommunication error — even bigger bummer.

We took a last minute trip up north and were lucky enough to find this cute cabin. The place has everything you could possibly need and the owner could not be more helpful. The location offers an easy drive to all the amazing areas in Northwest Michigan. Looking forward to staying again!

This was our first trip up north. The cottage was cute, clean and well stocked. We enjoyed walking the property and the view at the top of the hill! The cottage was very centrally located for our want to do list; beach, dunes, and Traverse City - each about a 30min drive. Crystal Mountain activities only about 10min by car! If you're looking for a quiet hideout that's equipped with all the creature comforts, this place is for you. Very clean and comfortable! Easy access to Sleeping Bear Dunes, Frankfort town & beach, Crystal Lake, and about 45 minutes to Traverse City. (The house was a little isolated for my taste, but the husband loved it.) Enjoyed our trip very much.

This place was very comfortable and cozy. We stayed here during a blizzard and it felt like we were in our own world. Copemish is small and charming, very quiet, with proximity to some nice restaurants and Crystal Mountain. I would describe this vrbo as picture perfect.

Wonderful and convenient location allowing us easy access to Crystal Mountain for our overnight ski vacation. The living room was very spacious and the home was warm and clean. The board games and pantry essentials were much appreciated and extra blankets and pillows made it so each member of our family slept comfortably. We definitely hope to stay again. Thank you!

We had a really great time here. The place was very clean and our pets loved the acreage to run and play. Very close to Traverse city where we took our 3 year to play for a day at Great Wolf lodge. I would highly recommend a stay if you are planning to visit the Traverse City area. I noticed there was even a place to go kayaking about 15 minutes down the road but it was too cold in March.

We enjoyed our stay in the little village of Copemish. We had 3 adults and the home was perfect. Our two dogs enjoyed the yard. The snow was too deep to use the trail up the hill but it was perfect skiing at crystal mountain. We couldn’t get the sauna to heat up but it wasn’t a big deal to us. Would def stay again. Loved Genos for dinners, especially because they had gluten free options for our son. Thank you for letting us stay… finding a dog friendly location made our trip possible.

The vrbo met all our needs. Anything we could possibly need from the kitchen was available. There was plenty of room for the four of us to be comfortable. We had questions about the station settings for the TV We called the owner and he answered and walked us through the set up and answered all our questions. We also enjoyed the sauna on the property. :)

We absolutely loved our time at the cottage !! VERY VERY CLEAN !! Beautiful cottage ! The kitchen was stocked with everything you would ever need and we loved the added bonus of the heater switch in the bathroom after showering ! Very spacious , nice yard , quiet neighborhood , secluded but still close to all the restraunts and attractions . The owners have made the property very dog friendly so that your dog is also comfortable there . The sauna was awesome we loved it !! a nice added feature to the property forsure !!!! We ate at Rosies country cafe and 231 bar and grill also Genos and we highly recommend them the food was great !!! I highly recommend the Eggs benedict at Rosies country cafe it is Amazing !!! We hope to return to Copemish again and revisit this beautiful cottage ! It is one of the top 3 nicest places we have stayed at !

Nice little cozy cabin. Very well stocked with dishes, towels, etc. No hair dryer which I expected would be there. Also, the fireplace didn’t light. Maybe it just needs a good cleaning. Other than that, very nice place. Comfortable bed, good shower and hot water pressure. Great location. Also recommend the Bear Claw Cafe for breakfast in Copemish, excellent food and service.

We enjoyed our stay at the Copemish Cottage. The cottage was clean and had everything you would need. It was within driving distance to Point Betsie, Frankfort, the OMP, wonderful vineyards, orchards, and the beach. Our two labs enjoyed the walks through the trails multiple times a day. The pizza at the nearby gas station was absolutely delicious. Probably the best pizza we’ve ever had. We would definitely stay here again.

We really had a nice weekend. It is super pet friendly and our dogs enjoyed their weekend as well. There are walking trails for the dogs and there is a dog park about 15 min away. They have couch covers for the dogs which was great and looked better than the mismatch of sheets I always bring to cover. We took in a show in manistee and spent an afternoon in traverse city. Kitchen is well stocked with everything you need. There are plenty of towels too. The sauna was great and such a nice feature to have. My only complaint is the main bed is super hard. My shoulder and hip joints were super sore from it. They have pull out beds in the living room with a memory foam pad so I slept a little better on that, but pull out beds aren’t the most comfortable either. If we stay again, I would bring a camping mat to put on the main bed. Quiet and peaceful there. Also, everything well labeled with good instructions. Everything was very clean! Thanks for a great weekend.

Property was very cozy. Large yard for pets. Bi fold door fell off track onto the floor. Otherwise just fine. I ran to a local store to get coffee for the coffee machine. (I founf tea and coffee filters at the house. No coffee found) No big deal to me. :) I enjoyed my stay very much and would stay again.
