As you come up the long, tree-covered driveway and see 'The Hidden House', you'll feel a lot like Hansel & Gretel. Some call it magical, others call it enchanting. You'll be at the top of the hill but nothing tops the peace and tranquility....

Located in Castle Rock, this vacation home is in a rural area. Seaquest State Park and Columbia River reflect the area's natural beauty and area attractions include Triangle Bowl and Rainier City Park. Haydu Park and Toteff Park are also worth visiting. Jet skiing and kayaking offer great chances to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with mountain climbing and cycling nearby.

The Bungalow is perfectly located to explore the Mount St. Helens area. Although attached to the main house it is very private and offers separate outdoor seating to relax and enjoy the peaceful scenery. Watching the chickens in their atrium is also quite entertaining! The Bungalow is well stocked with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The egg and pancake breakfast was an added treat! Highly recommend and would not hesitate to stay again.

We had a lovely stay at AJ’s place. The space is extremely clean, with a very comfortable King bed, and all the amenities you’ll need without ever leaving the property. In the kitchen you’ll find plenty of real cookware, cast iron skillet, utensils, and dish ware (all in great condition), as well as the usual condiments and then some. Although we brought dinner with us prior to arrival, there are available food items in the freezer and cupboard from which you could make your own meal, so no need for traipsing into town for dinner. Especially treat worthy, our hostess delivered fresh pancake batter (gluten free) on check-in, which we consumed entirely the next morning, along with fresh eggs provided from the backyard chicken coop. The A/C was much welcome during our stay given the high temps outside. Lots of bathroom amenities, too, with a washer and dryer. The host provided clear instructions on how to find the spot, which was well marked and easy to find. The road up to the rental is one-lane in some spots, so be alert to occasional oncoming traffic. We loved the quiet and solitude of our rental, and appreciated the kindness of our host on check-in, who otherwise remained out of sight and respected our privacy. We recommend!

Fantastic property - felt brand new with exceptional amenities - the Bungalow has everything you could need or ask for - one of the nicest rental properties we've ever used. The setting is incredibly quiet and peaceful - rural but within 10 minutes of restaurants and essentials.

Our stay was absolutely perfect and a wonderful midpoint on our northwest adventure. From the bedroom to the location you won’t find a more comfy spot to stay in. We had an amazing time winding down to the collection of movies over breakfast for dinner from fresh eggs and homemade pancake mix provided by the hosts.

AJ the property owner really made this stay one of our favorites. The only downside my gf and I could think of was that our stay was too short! The property is situated in a tucked away portion of Castle Rock, WA for a peaceful getaway vibe. The bungalow itself is like having your very own house complete with a large living room, kitchen and dining room, bedroom, outdoor hammock, and porch. It comes fully stocked with everything you would need aside from a full meal (condiments and eggs from the local chickens are even included!). A very warm and right-at- home feel. Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful stay at the Hidden House. The suite is beautifully decorated with many lovely features. The kitchen is very well laid out and has all the features needed to have a gourmet meal. The owner left us many little extras including fresh eggs, real cream and pancake mix ready to use. The house is as described in the listing if not better when you actually see it. The location is beautiful and very quiet. Would definitely recommend and look forward to returning again. Andy & Karen

What a wonderful stop. I wish we had more time there, but we only stayed one night on our way between Portland/St Helens and Rainier. The house is secluded, as shown in the listing. The balcony overlooks a gorgeous forested valley and we enjoyed just sitting out there and listening to the birds both in the evening and in the morning. The chickens were amusing and they provided part of a wonderful breakfast that was included. The bed was very comfortable, which allowed us to sleep in. The generous check out time was one of the reasons that clinched this spot with travel days on both sides of our stay. The bungalow was spacious, and we were able to do laundry. Host communication was good. Again, I wish we had scheduled more than one day here as it was very peaceful and comfortable. We would absolutely stay here again next time we're in the area.

I can’t speak highly enough about this property!!! My husband and I stayed here just before Valentine’s Day and had the best experience. We loved snuggling up on the comfy couch, watching movies, playing games, and reading in front of the wood-burning fireplace. The bed is super comfortable and the kitchen is pretty well stocked with cooking utensils and some basic seasonings. The pancake mix, syrup, and eggs that are provided made for a delicious breakfast, too! If you’re staying during the snowy or rainy seasons, be sure to have a 4WD/AWD vehicle because the driveway is extremely steep (AJ did offer to pick us up at the bottom of the driveway if we didn’t think our car could make it, though!). AJ is an amazing host and has created the most beautiful hidden vacation spot! The Bungalow exceeded our expectations, and we can’t wait to go back!

This bungalow is so well appointed, clean, cozy, comfortable - very thoughtfully put together. I visited solo as I came to ride the Tour de Blast, a cycling adventure riding up Mt St Helens. It was a perfect base for that. But know I see it as a perfect base for a multi day visit to Mt St Helens for hiking and cycling. I can see returning to the bungalow after a full and active day to enjoy a hot shower, use the washer dryer for clothes, and use the fantastic kitchen to cook some hearty food. Then it’s popcorn and a movie and sleep like a baby, it’s so quiet and relaxing. I’m sitting here thinking up reasons to go back. Can’t wait to do so. Thank you to hosts Sandy and AJ for a wonderful gem. Yay!

The bungalow was so comfortable, it’s like a home-away-from home! Everything we could even think we might need, there it was. We enjoyed a night away (without kids!) so we celebrated with a silly movie from the dvd collection and a solid night’s sleep! Very quiet and remote. We made fresh eggs for breakfast in the morning, which we really appreciated. Visited the chickens and sipped a cup of tea on the porch swing. Every aspect was relaxing. We will surely visit again! Thanks AJ!

Everything is as advertised and some highlights include the incredibly comfortable bed, high quality bedding, easy to use fireplace and ridiculously well stocked kitchen. We had a lovely stay at AJ’s place. The space is extremely clean, with a very comfortable King bed, and all the amenities you’ll need without ever leaving the property. In the kitchen you’ll find plenty of real cookware, cast iron skillet, utensils, and dish ware (all in great condition), as well as the usual condiments and then some. Although we brought dinner with us prior to arrival, there are available food items in the freezer and cupboard from which you could make your own meal, so no need for traipsing into town for dinner. Especially treat worthy, our hostess delivered fresh pancake batter (gluten free) on check-in, which we consumed entirely the next morning, along with fresh eggs provided from the backyard chicken coop. The A/C was much welcome during our stay given the high temps outside. Lots of bathroom amenities, too, with a washer and dryer. The host provided clear instructions on how to find the spot, which was well marked and easy to find. The road up to the rental is one-lane in some spots, so be alert to occasional oncoming traffic. We loved the quiet and solitude of our rental, and appreciated the kindness of our host on check-in, who otherwise remained out of sight and respected our privacy. We recommend!

We loved our stay at the bungalow! It was very clear that our host cared deeply about making sure our stay was as enjoyable as possible. The house was stocked with so many essential items, the views around the property were amazing, and it was the perfect hub for our adventures. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Ours was a 2-night stay in this lovely 1 bdrm very private bungalow approx 6 miles outside of Castle Rock. Directions were excellent; up a steep hill on a one lane road that passes another home, so suggest time your initial arrival in the daylight. Hosts were outstanding and bungalow very well equipped! Only regret our time was focused on the national parks and thus we were not able to enjoy the outdoor places for relaxing.

I can’t speak highly enough about this property!!! My husband and I stayed here just before Valentine’s Day and had the best experience. We loved snuggling up on the comfy couch, watching movies, playing games, and reading in front of the wood-burning fireplace. The bed is super comfortable and the kitchen is pretty well stocked with cooking utensils and some basic seasonings. The pancake mix, syrup, and eggs that are provided made for a delicious breakfast, too! If you’re staying during the snowy or rainy seasons, be sure to have a 4WD/AWD vehicle because the driveway is extremely steep (AJ did offer to pick us up at the bottom of the driveway if we didn’t think our car could make it, though!). AJ is an amazing host and has created the most beautiful hidden vacation spot! The Bungalow exceeded our expectations, and we can’t wait to go back!

I wish I could give this place 20 stars. My husband and I stayed overnight for a quick and quiet getaway for our anniversary. Communication with the host was incredible and they were so friendly. The morning pancakes were literally to die for!! It was stormy outside during our stay and it was so relaxing to just hang out and choose movies to watch and games to play from their collection! We would absolutely stay here again.

Had a great stay here after exploring Mount St. Helens. AJ did a great job with directions to the house; there are some steep and windy roads, so getting there in the daylight is a good idea. The house itself was incredibly comfortable and well decked-out; the perfect spot to relax. We enjoyed saying hello to the chickens! Excellent little hideaway.

This place is just as pictured. Cozy living space and nicely designed kitchen. Lots of coffee choices, and the fresh eggs were a wonderful treat. It was fun to watch the baby bunnies and chickens. It's a very peaceful location so easy to unplug, but also close enough that you can grab whatever essentials you might need. If time allows, try Roland Winery nearby for some live music, good wine, and good food. The drive to visit Mount St. Helens monument was beautiful. AJ is a great host too! Would recommend for anyone wanting a peaceful escape.

What a wonderful stop. I wish we had more time there, but we only stayed one night on our way between Portland/St Helens and Rainier. The house is secluded, as shown in the listing. The balcony overlooks a gorgeous forested valley and we enjoyed just sitting out there and listening to the birds both in the evening and in the morning. The chickens were amusing and they provided part of a wonderful breakfast that was included. The bed was very comfortable, which allowed us to sleep in. The generous check out time was one of the reasons that clinched this spot with travel days on both sides of our stay. The bungalow was spacious, and we were able to do laundry. Host communication was good. Again, I wish we had scheduled more than one day here as it was very peaceful and comfortable. We would absolutely stay here again next time we're in the area.

Our stay was absolutely perfect and a wonderful midpoint on our northwest adventure. From the bedroom to the location you won’t find a more comfy spot to stay in. We had an amazing time winding down to the collection of movies over breakfast for dinner from fresh eggs and homemade pancake mix provided by the hosts.

We had a wonderful stay at the Hidden House. The suite is beautifully decorated with many lovely features. The kitchen is very well laid out and has all the features needed to have a gourmet meal. The owner left us many little extras including fresh eggs, real cream and pancake mix ready to use. The house is as described in the listing if not better when you actually see it. The location is beautiful and very quiet. Would definitely recommend and look forward to returning again. Andy & Karen

I wish I could give this place 20 stars. My husband and I stayed overnight for a quick and quiet getaway for our anniversary. Communication with the host was incredible and they were so friendly. The morning pancakes were literally to die for!! It was stormy outside during our stay and it was so relaxing to just hang out and choose movies to watch and games to play from their collection! We would absolutely stay here again.

What a special and amazing spot So remote So quiet at nightSo well appointed the upstairs space with two beds is the cutest everonly criticism is adding a door on the primary bedroom and changing toilet to adult American human size but I would love to stay there again and again
