Why would not choose to stay at the castle on a hill with stunning views? The property grounds are serene, the staff friendly, personable and accommodating, and the walk to town is charming. Also, book a day just for the spa/pool.

Spent two nights here while visiting Salzburg: this was one of the very best experiences we’ve had. From check in through the end of our stay, the service was impeccable. Room was amazing - we were second from the top with a 270 degree view of the city. We had a multi-course meal at The Glass Garden and an informal dinner the next night in their restaurant/bar: excellent wine and drink selection, exceptional food, and again wonderful service. The pool and jacuzzi area is beautiful, and we enjoyed that area twice. Short 10 minute walk gets you to an elevator that takes you right down to town. Perfect home base for a classy Salzburg adventure!

We stayed for just one night ahead of a vacation with a tour group. After 2 flights and 2 trains to get to Salzburg, we were looking for a quiet place to relax. The staff were exceptional - we were greeted with champagne, our bags were brought directly to our room and our room was upgraded from a standard suite to a castle suite. The bed was a little on the firm side, just the way we like it. The staff gave us recommendations for dinner close to the hotel and free passes to use the elevator to take us down the mountain. We made the mistake of not reserving dinner reservations onsite in advance and the restaurant was fully booked for dinner by our 2pm arrival. After an early dinner, we came back to our room around 6:30 and within an hour we were both fast asleep for the next 12 hours. On checkout the next morning, the staff held our luggage while we spent the day exploring the nearby fortress. When we returned in the afternoon, they helped us with getting a cab to our next location. Our room was fantastic, with a seating/dining area, comfortable king-sized bed and huge bathroom with walk-in closet, separate toilet, and freestanding tub under a huge, arched window. The hotel grounds were equally as fantastic with the infinity pool, hot tub and several outdoor dining/seating spaces. The location is quiet and remote, but surprisingly easy to access. Wooded paths from the hotel lead to the Modern Art Museum and Fortress.

What a wonderful experience at Schloss Mönchstein fr the moment arrived. The staff was top notch, we had a glass of wine while our luggage was brought to the room. The room was perfect and made us feel like we were staying in a castle. Great pool and again everyone in the hotel was so pleasant and helpful. From the minute we stepped on the property was just beautiful and welcoming. Enjoyed the welcoming drink and snacks. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, spacious and cozy. The property is just stunning, amazing views towards the city and surroundings. A place to unwind. Great amenities and services. Delicious, fresh food ( brekfast and dinner). Front desk personal was so kind, helpful and friendly. Felix was extremely helpful with every request we has.

Wasn’t expecting much so was pleasantly surprised by how beautiful and charming the hotel was. Staff were so nice and friendly, rooms very spacious with beautiful views and bathrooms and sauna in the spa was world class for heat

The dining experience was delicious! The hotel is located on top of a hill but they give you a ticket to ride the funicular. We would stay there again!

Literally everything was perfect. Stayed in tower room #35 and it was amazing. The Glass Garden restaurant was impeccable and well deserving of its Michelin status. Breakfast was delicious. Every single member of the staff was polite, friendly, over-the-top helpful and welcoming. Our only regret is we could not stay longer. We travel quite a bit and this was easily one of the best experiences we’ve had with a hotel. Can’t wait to come back!

unique high end luxury hotel, amazing service and friendly staff. A bit out of the way from everything but they provided a elevator pass to make accessibility better
